Gori-
No way should you apologize, that's what we are here for. This is where you come for support. I am with Tina on this one- those darned tests end up causing lots of needless worrying most of the time. Please try to remain positive, it is probably nothing to worry about. We are all here for you, lots of luck with the amnio. Let us know what happens.

Nancy-
I was LAUGHING when I read about your dream. Oddly, I haven't had weird dreams lately, but I can relate since I normally DO have craaazy dreams. I guess my pregnancy hormones are counteracting my normal dream craziness (e.g., I have recurring dreams that I have to take a final in a course where I attended only 2 classes in the beginning of the semester, and I am cramming all the material in feverishly with only minutes to study.)

Be well all. Off to work in a bit. Later...

Hi Bump Buddies,
I just returned from the OB's office and all is well. No ultrasound this time but I did get to hear the heartbeat's. Next appt is 3/07/08 for the ultrasound where they tell us the sex of the baby!
Nancy -I have the craziest dreams every night! I think what is happening is that my sleep is interrupted so much now that I remember all my dreams.
Better get to work.

Gori: I am sorry to hear about your scare! I agree with the other ladies, these tests are too often incorrect and create unneccesary worry. Keep your thoughts positive!! I wish you the best on your amnio!

Dancinnancy: Crazy small world! I miss my maiden name as well! I too had thought about naming a little boy Griffin, but one of my highschool friends beat me to it...so I have moved on to other options. I do hope you have a little boy and can name him Griffin! That would be Awesome!!

TinaO: I had some pretty bad cramps on a off yesterday and was extremely tired all day! I sat down a lot and went to bed @ 7...I feel much better today. It is a little nerve racking ! When do you draw the line between pregnancy growing pains and calling your doc because you are worried about the about the amount of pains? UGH!!
Stay warm in Chicago and have fun with your girls! That sounds like so much fun!!!

MBG-
Your little baby bump is adorable! (saw it on photobucket). Also, thanks for cluing me in on how to sign in. I will try to post mine one of these days as well. Regarding your aches and pains- I have my share of crampy feelings, and with two in there it makes sense that you'd be feeling even more cramps. I can relate to feeling anxious at the time that the pains are occurring. Anytime I feel an ache or pain, I (irrationally) think 'Did I lift something too heavy??? Did I eat the wrong food??? Let me at one of those ultrasound contraptions!!' Anyway, hope you are feeling more relaxed about it today.

Tina-
You and your husband look really sweet together. Was that pre-pregnancy? Hope you aren't freezing your butt off too much in Chicago. Enjoy your non-alcoholic wine trip, too!

Rebecca-
Congrats on the reassuring flub of the heartbeat. It's a great sound, huh? I'd take it any day of the week.

Okay, is anyone having a hard time standing from a sitting-on-the-floor position? I am a speech therapist, and with the really little kids, I do therapy sessions on the rug. Lately, when I have to get up, I feel glued to the floor, and need to lean on a chair to get up! I used to be able to stand with no hands, and now this! It's embarrassing when a parent is in the room as they watch me slowly struggle to stand up. Also, I am definitely starting to feel a 'fullness' in my lower belly, which is nice. Anyone else starting to feel new sensations in the baby area? It's making me feel excited, and also anxious/curious to see the little tyke yet again.

Health and hugs to all...

Hi Shari,
To answer your ?, yes I already feel a little less mobile. It is harder to get up off the floor. I also have a really soft bed and sometimes I get the feeling that I'm stuck in a hole when I try to move around. I was warned against doing stomach crunch exercises so I imagine my belly muscles have really gone soft. I'm sure I'll be having all these feelings times 10 in a few months.
Sometimes at night if I lay on my stomach I think I can feel the baby move. I know it's really early but that's what I think it is. It's a fluttering feeling where I know my uterus is. I dont feel it during the day, it's something I have to be in the right position for and without other distractions.

Hi everyone,

I haven't time yet to read the recent posts, but I have a question for all of you. I just got the results back from my sequential screen (the nuchal translucency u/s & bloodwork plus the second trimester bloodwork). My results were really good, and I am worried they are wrong since the risk is so low. Should I trust these results? Anyone's opinion is welcome! Here are the numbers:

Risk of neural tube defects = was 1 in 900 based on age; is now 1 in 3300
Risk of Down Syndrome = was 1 in 65 based on age; is now 2800
Risk of Trisomy 18 = was 1 in 260 based on age; is now 5500

Hi Seltzer, you should absolutely trust those #'s. They sound right in line with what other results people are getting. My dropped to something like 1/2000 and 1/3000, or something like that. Congratulations!

Seltzer: I say go with it! I have heard so many stories with opposite problem....take the info and use it to ease your mind! Congrats by the way!! :D

Shari: yes, I too have probs getting up.....sometimes I get what feels like a pinched nerve in leg and I can't put any pressure on that particular leg. I work in dept stores, so you can imagine the strange look I get from associates and customers when this happens at work  . Sometimes I have to sit on the floor and straighten my leg then use the other leg to help me stand...it is quite the process!! I definately feel the fullness in my belly! Now I am just waiting feel the littel tykes move! I cannot wait!!

Rebecca: I bet you are feeling your little one move....everything I have read says you can begin feeling the movements at around 15-20 weeks. I am sooo jealous!!! I am anxiously awaiting the day I can feel mine move!! Congrats!!

Feeling about the same...I am taking more breaks during the day, as I am on my feet all day. I find that if I take the time to sit down more often the aches and pains are far less!

Thank you Rebecca and Mary Beth! I am glad to hear the numbers sound reasonable compared to others' results. WHEW! Time to celebrate!

I quickly read that some of you are having abdominal fullness, trouble getting up, etc. I am not having any of that stuff, just my GI pain and symptoms. When I don't have the GI stuff going on I feel completely normal, just bigger.

Hello Ladies,
I had a bit of a scare this morning, but TG, everything is fine. It's a bit of a 'TMI' situation, but suffice it to say that I had a m/s episode, and afterwards I felt a 'trickle' and thought I was leaking amniotic fluid. Well, I rushed to the urgi-care center, and all is well. Even got to see the cutie sucking on a thumb! I guess I'm having incontinence issues ( ), which are apparently more common during pregnancy, and judging from my bladder spasms recently, isn't all that surprising.

Hope all is well. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Shari,
So glad all is well and don't worry about the TMI thing. If it's happened to you, it'll probably happen to someone else and now they won't be as scared!
Have a great weekend everyone,
Rebecca

Shari - I am so glad everything is OK. You must have been panic-stricken. I feel so bad for you that you are still experiencing m/s. Ugh! I feel queasy from time to time, but nothing akin to actual m/s like I had it earlier on. Hang in there, I am sure it will lessen.

Nothing on this forum to me is TMI! The more detailed info, the better! Keep the details coming. It really helps me to understand what normal is and what I should and should not be worried about.

Shari: I am glad all is well and you were able to sneak a peak at your little one! There are so many things going on with our bodies...it can be a little frightening at times!

Sorry to hear you are still expieriencing m/s!! YUCK! Surely it will subside soon!
Again...glad to hear all is well!!
:D

a girlfriend of mine gave birth on Thursday to a beautiful little boy! She had a pretty difficult labor, wich of course makes me squeamish, but it all ended well with a healthy baby!! I have been up to the hospital twice to see him and hold him..he is precious! I can't wait to meet my little ones!!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Seltzer and MBG- Thanks for the sympathy re: m/s. I actually thought it was lightening up, but turns out that these past two days were the WORST of the whole pregnancy. Well, I guess there are no rules. Just hope it goes away soon so I can function a little better. On the positive side, my husband is spoiling me like CRAZY  .

Rebecca- You're right. Better to report the details so others can see that what might seem scary can actually be a normal (if not embarrassing) side effect of pregnancy.

Hope you are all feeling well today. I woke up a little while ago, and so far, feeling okay :). Have a great day everyone...
