Does anyone else think it's cruel to make them sing after they've gotten the boot?!? I felt so bad for Alaina!

I was also surprised by the results. I thought Robbie would make it a while longer. I think he really did make bad song choices.

I also think it is cruel that they make them sing after kicking them off, especially that they have to sing the song that got them kicked off. Like AI is saying, let's show the audience again why you have to go.

I thought it was great that Alaina told them she couldn't sing - to show them how ridiculous it is!! Of course, she caved in the end.

I had a feeling Alaina might go (as much as I LOVE Grease, that was a bad song to pick from the 70's - too mellow), but she was definitely better than Kady!

Has anyone else noticed the super weird facial expressions Danny Noriega makes? Kabillion - I agree he will likely stay on for the Sanjaya effect, although thankfully I think he can sing a bit better than Sanjaya!

I think Danny is just super self conscious right now....hopefully he'll calm down. So much better than Sanjaya though. I like that he obviously feels really bad at eliminination.

I saw on TMz.com that Amanda is on probation for DUI...I guess given her tude that's not too surprising. Also read on there that Robbie was wearing a wig....then I looked at it closely and around the hairline it did look like one.

David is cute...he was the Junior StarSearch winner a few years ago & 19 entertainment is already signing him & getting writers to write songs for him. So he's set, no matter what happens. The only thing that bothered me was that Imagine was sung that way by a singer named Eva Cassidy....you should all check her out....really cool. She died 10 yrs ago, but did some really great arrangements of famous songs like "Fields of Gold" & "Imagine". They made it seem like it was his arrangement & it wasn't.

The girls all seemed really nervous...hopefully they'll pick it up next week.

I wish they would do 80's alternative. It would be interesting to hear a new version of 80's songs like Blondie...

As for disco, ohh Donna Summer's "I feel love" would be a good one.

Hey ladies!

I totally agree with the fact that they shouldnt make them sing at the end! I have to disagree about Danny....I think even though he is very "over the top" I think his voice to great! I think vocally he is second best! Well see what happens! I also agree with the comments about Kady....I think she should have been the one to go...hope 80's is better!

Well Ladies...what did you think about the boys tonight??? I think they did pretty well. I was hoping for a good Bon Jovi song from the 80's! oh well. I really liked David cook this week. I thought he did well! I think the frist and last are going to go this week...but we'll see. David A.....of course did well also. They really like the guy with the dreads too....I dont really like him that much, but I think he did well tonight! I think the boys are better than the girls this year...I have a feeling the girls are going to pick crappy songs again tomorrow! I guess we'll see! Talk to everyone soon! Oh and for those who are not on my regular threads....I started stimming tonight!!! YAY!

I thought the guys were great - and definitely much better than the girls so far. There is just nothing special about most of the females, as much as I hate to say it. But there have been more female winners than males on the show so maybe it's time for a boy! I also loved David Cook and the dread boy - Jason Castro. I think Luke will go. I don't think Danny is that great, and wouldn't mind if he left, but he will probably stick around. I think the "naked dancer," as DH and I call him since the scandal broke about his strip club job (and apparently a male strip club, but who knows), should go too - he is a good singer but I hate the "sex you up" look he is always giving to the camera!!

Neffi- What a cute and wonderful thread!

My personal favorites are David Archuleta and Carly Smithson. David is soooo adorable, you can't help but wanna pinch his cheeks. I enjoy Carly's style of music- it's the kind of music I'd plunk down actual cash for. Brooke White is also pretty good; I'm glad she's not succumbing to being brought over to the 'dark side' a' la Simon. Amanda/Rocker Girl's performance was not bad last night, but she comes off really weird in front of the judges. She barely utters 'thank you' for the compliments she gets. She's not intentionally rude, but she needs to show America a bit more emotion, I think.

Well, results should be interesting... then we get down to the nitty gritty, aka 'top 12' :D

Hey everyone!

Well I still think the boys are better than they girls....I just thought it was kinda boring last night. Carly is still my favorite. Sharishu, you're right about Amanda...she shows no emotion, but I do like her performances! It will be interesting to see the results tonight! I think its a year for the BOYS!!!

As some of you have stated, I also think it is cruel to ask them to sing once they are voted off. What's the point? Also, I too was surprised about Alaina getting voted off. I actually liked her. Not my favorite, but she deserved to go further. Ah well, it's all about who votes.

Later!

I agree it was a bit boring. I thought Brooke was great - I loved her version of that song. I also like Amanda and Carly. I think it is definitely Cady's week to go.

What I don't understand is why they all insist on singing Whitney and Celine songs. The judges are usually harsh about those because no one can sing like those 2 women, so unless you do something really different with the song, why try it? Every year this happens so if these people had ever watched the show before, they should know better. I guess they all just assume they are good enough to pull it off, and if they do they will wow the judges.

I definitely think the Guys have it all over the Girls this year. I think that Luke needs to go. Either Chakizi or Daniel need to go as well, in my opinion.

For girls, I liked Amanda and Asiah, other than that nothing stood out for me.

As far as singing Celine or Whitney, I actually liked when a guy sang Celine, because he can't be compared to her like the girls can.
