RunnerKate - you have to do what you feel is best for you and DH...many advise against it due to the inaccuracy BUT I think by now you are close enough to your official test that a HPT would work...for me it is more about the "news" - I do not want some nurse who does not know me reading from a lab slip my results...I prefer to try and find out in the privacy of my home and have some control over it but everyone is different.
15dpo - pregnant - that is prob if you have a 28 day cycle? or is it specific to IVF that 15 dpo is BFP? I know my cycles are more lie 30 - 31 days so even if I make 15 dpo I would not bank on a BFP since AF would not be due for another 3 -4 days...
Good luck whatever you decide to do! We are all here for you!!
IrishHope, according to the "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" book, since your cycle is 30-31 days, you would ovulate 10-14 days before you get AF, which would be CD 16-20 for 30 day cycle and CD 17-21 for 31 day cycle. I am not sure whether the hormones we are on change when we we actually get our period and prolong the luteul (post ovulation) phase of our cycle. When I did my IUI, I had my IUI on CD 17 and had a 31 day cycle (my period was 15 days after the IUI).

Just a few more days for me. DH won't be home until about 10 that night, so hoping that all goes well. I'm going to treat myself to some nice take-out food regardless of the outcome.
Runnerkate,
you're on the homestretch no reason to poas now! I did. It came back negative 12 days past ER. I was down, and then got my BFP anyway just a few days later. I am still in denial in some way about it, but today we heard the heartbeat for the first time and now I'm thinking I have to stop being cautiously optimistic and just grab life by the lapels.
I'm going to be a mommy! You will too. It's just a matter of time.
And if you want a pick-up-me, read this story of this insanely active pregnant lady, somehow I keep imagining this gal is you when I read the blog. Welcome to your future: http://sealegsgirl.blogspot.com/
Casey there is no reason to not be psyched with that first beta number. Mine was 91 and kept a doubling (magically) and now I'm 11 weeks + 3 days. I hope yours keeps on doubling... Lostgirl
Me: 37 DH:40 TTC since 2005. First IVF cycle canceled. 2nd cycle BFP 1/11. DS arrived late 2008. 3rd cycle, U/s 3/7. Devastated. NO fetal pole or HB.
kbat - I know! it is coming soon!!
I am debating calling my nurse and asking to be moved up to Friday 3/7...seriously I know it's just due to the wknd that I am being pushed out to 3/10 - I also want to book an appt w/ my RE now incase this is a BFN to get moving right away w/ the frozen guys we have but I KNOW she will be so rude to me that i'm not sure I can handle it this week...
Irishhope--
I don't see why you can't change your appointment to Friday. We had our e/r the same day, and I only had my e/t one day before you did (sat. 2/21). I hear you on the nurse issue. I didn't have much contact w/ my nurse this cycle--don't know if she was on vacation--but I always dread talking w/ her. She never really answers my questions, etc. Only 3 more days to go. this week seems harder than last week--and I am a little more nervous about the whole thing.
Lostgirl...thanks for the info on your beta. That really helps me keep sane. I hope it keeps doubling too but I'm still full of anxiety!
kbat...I'm keeping positive thoughts for you and yes, please do treat yourself. This process is hard enough as it is.
IrishHope...I don't understand why they can't change your appt. either. And keep in mind you are ultimately the patient and you should be the one getting what you want. I know how you feel about a rude nurse. I had one like that before but recently changed to another one who I love. You should ask for someone else if you are uncomfortable. I am able to call my nurse anytime for anything and that's how it should be.
IrishHope--Definitely see if you can get the appointment moved forward and set up a follow-up with the RE next week. I already booked an appointment with a therapist for the day after I find out...just in case it is a negative result and I am really upset. You can always cancel.
LostGirl--I checked out that blog. That lady is INSANE! I don't even work out that much now, er...before...etc.
Ok, Ladies, I caved. I didn't do it the last time, but I just had to know.
I got 2 lines. I am cautiously optomistic.
It is 15 days past egg retrieval, 12 days past embryo transfer, and 17 days since my HCG shot. Do you think any of these hormones could be messing with the result?

Iccin--really?? You think so? I sure am glad you are awake on the other side of the Ocean b/c I am all alone here in the States....wide awake at 3:55 am...haven't slept a wink. Just served myself a nice breakfast of toast, eggs, and bacon. I mean, a hungry momma has to eat, right???
Stop testing until you get further along! Is that considered to be throwing stones in a glass house?

Look after yourself and your baba - and enjoy every second of your PREGNANCY!!!
Unfortunately you can preach all you want, but I'm POAS'ing tomorrow again. Not only am i an addict, but apparently I also enjoy inflicting pain on myself!!
How are you feeling? Any 'external' signs as to what's happening 'internally'?
I thought of you SO much today and I sincerely hope your good fortune will rub off on me!!
Let me know about your beta!!!

Busy with IVF # 6 with DE
Test date: 22 August
RunnerKate - two lines is two lines girlfriend!!! Hopefully you start the string for this week! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
any symptoms yet? keep us posted!!
Thanks all - I am going to try and call my nurse and play the whole "can I get my test on Friday incase it's negative I'd prefer the wknd to "recover"?
We'll see if she has some "niceness" in her today!
Irish Hope...no symptoms other than crampy stomach (remember I swore they were menstrual cramps?) and sore boobs. But, I had these symptoms with my failed IUI. And, I am freaking starving. I had 2 breakfasts today (eggs/toast/bacon) and then oatmeal w/ yogurt, walnuts, berries and am contemplating another. Of course, extreme exhaustion could play into that as well. I thought I felt a little queasy a couple times Sun. & Mon., but I think it was psychosomatic.
Thanks so much for the congrats! I sure do hope they are in order!
