Sonia - best of luck with your appointment tomorrow! I'll be waiting to hear how it goes!

Rhall - best of luck next week. Sounds like you have a good number of embie-pops so things should go smoothly for you!!!

JenB - best of luck to you! Can't wait to support you through the 2ww!

Jen1 - hope that you are hanging in there. I know that you aren't popping on here much but just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you! Good luck with the adoption process. While I know there is a lot of pain for you now, I think once you get your baby home the pain will seem so far in the past!

As for me, we had our ultrasound this morning and saw the heartbeats of our two little ones! We are having twins and couldn't be more thrilled. We've waited so long for this moment that we were both crying! The struggles that we've gone through over the past IVF cycles all seem worth it now that we have our BFP. It was a tough road but we made it! And this thread was a godsent!

Thinking of you all!!!

Hi,

Just to let you know… my lining hasn’t improved. 7,2mm was the best measurement my doc could get. :( Now waiting for a reply from the clinic. I think acu and yoga have been helping and there’s not much else I can do but wait… I’ll keep you posted.

Kel – so pleased to read your good news today. Wishing you and your twins a smooth journey. :D

Love and hugs all round… thinking of you.

IVF to Egg Donor in CT

Post by Aurora »

Hi All

I posted this message in the Egg Donor's section - but I noticed this thread that seems to be quite active so am hoping someone here may have some info ... or advice.

We abandoned our 5th IVF cycle due to elevated FSH levels. We are now looking in to egg donors with clinics in Connecticut. We have had one appointment so far to talk over the process at a clinic and have another one booked for next week.

There seems to be a lot of info about the process - but as soon as we mention costs the info dries up. Mainly we just want a ball-park figure so we can get together the money - or give up due to lack of funds (will be a difficult thing to do - but way easier at this stage than going through selecting a donor and then finding out we can't afford it.)

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of using an egg donor and clinic in CT? Would you mind sharing roughly how much it cost?

Our insurance covers IVF for us - but will not cover costs for the egg donor.

Oh and if anyone has any recommendations for clinics around CT that offer egg donors we would greatly appreciate that. It's all so abstract at this time ...

Thanks for all of your help.

JenB - welcome home and congrats! You are PUPO!!!!! Great news that your two embies survived the thaw - they are little fighters! Hope that the next 2 weeks fly by! Can't wait to be celebrating your BFP once the 2ww is over!

Aurora - I am sorry but I don't know anything about egg donation in the US. I did my egg donation cycle overseas and it was very reasonable - something to consider if the US cycle is too expensive. Best of luck!!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Sonia - sorry to hear that your lining didn't get thicker but perhaps by your next scan it will have. When is your next scan? At least the drugs are maintaining the thickness - that is an improvement from past cycles, isn't it?

Thinking of you all!

Hi,

Jen1 – thanks for posting news of JenB. How are your adoption classes going? Sure you and DH the best. Hope you are feeling stronger and your future is looking a little brighter for you now xxx

JenB – welcome home and congrats on being pupo. What are you doing to keep yourself busy? Hope your in-laws’ visit doesn’t mean there’s going to be too much going on for you. Keep thinking happy thoughts xxx

Rebecca – good to hear from you. Hope all goes smoothly for you. Best wishes!

Welcome Aurora – sorry I can’t help with egg donation in the US either. Hope you can find a good, affordable clinic in your area. Good luck!

Kelly – so good to hear how well you are getting on. How are you feeling? Any nausea? When is your next scan?
Thanks for thinking of me. Unfortunately my cycle is over again before getting to transfer. Getting my lining to a respectable thickness doesn’t seem to be the core problem, it’s preventing AF arriving so soon. My cycles with progynova are just too short. I’ve no idea why this keeps happening and just have to keep searching for answers but going through 3 failed attempts at getting to transfer is more than frustrating… :? My clinic is now due to get back to me on how to proceed.

Have a good week everyone!

Welcome back Jenb!! Glad your little fighters are safely onboard! Can't wait for your good news!

Sonia, sorry to hear about your cycle. Hopefully your doctors can figure it out quickly!

Aurora, I'm in MA so I can tell you all about what we went through. It is very expensive, but thankfully my insurance paid for the drugs. Even with that, we paid a lot. I went through 3 different agencies but I liked dreamdonation.com the most. They are based in MA so they have quite a few donors located in New England. Send me a private emal and I can give you more details!

I went in for a scan today and my lining was 8.4 and multilayered which they seemed happy with. Transfer is set for Thursday!! Just need to get the time so I can set up my accupuncture appointments, but I took the day off and Friday ismy last day at my current job. Taking off next week and then start my new job the following week. So happy to have time to sit and relax during the 2ww, it never happens like this for me. Maybe it really will work this time! Fingers crossed!!

Hi All

An update from us - we are looking at donor profiles with a clinic in CT and we have an appoinment with another clinic in CT to meet with their coordinator.

It's still all so abstract but reading your progress is such a help as we feel less alone in all of this.

Good luck to you all - and thanks so much for the wishes. I'll check back and update you all with progress.

Thanks!!!

Hi all, some of you may remember me from the Over 40's crowd, so if you do a big hello from me.

Just popped in to wish Jen all the luck in the world for your 2ww. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.x

Hi Anna, good to hear that Matthew is doing well. Are you going back to work part time? Good luck with it.

For those that do remember, Wills is now just over 13 months old, walking and almost running everywhere. He is full of joy, chatting like Matthew and also has 4 teeth. We don't think we will be going back to Isida for our frozens - we feel blessed as we are and my age is a stumbling block. Feeling old today, sorry!

Must close now before my tear-away wakes from his morning nap to cause mayhem.

Good luck to everyone else on this thread, it will be so worth it for you all.
