Happy New Year

Post by Dagny »

Hello all and a Happy New year.

Good to see we have all survived the festive season. I spent xmas in Devon with the folks and had a relaxing time being fussed over and pampered. Can you believe I have only just found this new fangled board and I am finding it a bit strange. How do you know which are new topics? They are supposed to be orange when you log on but mine just show up gray so I got all fed up. I am sure given time it will all fall into place.

Welcome back Nikola. Glad you had a lovely honeymoon. Good luck with your next scan.

I did see the midwife the day before xmas eve to hear the heartbeat and it was such a relief. We went down to Devon feeling much more relaxed. Then that night as I was getting ready for bed I started bleeding a bit. I bled over xmas and for a few days and it cleared up. Phew, I thought, until yesterday (Sunday) and I had a massive bleed! It was horrific! David rushed me into A&E and it took a doctor and a midwife 15 minutes to find a heartbeat. I was going out of my mind. Poor David had to sit outside the room as his 12 year old daughter was with us this weekend and I didn't want her seeing me flip out, so they waited outside. I was kept in over night for ob's and a scan this morning which showed all was ok on the baby front. A very active little thing kicking like Beckham! I am now reconsidering going back to work as this is the second threatened miscarriage in 16 weeks and I don't want to tempt fate. We shall see.

Shell, I think you are having a boy. I hope you are feeling ok and it won't be long now. How exciting.

I will try to catch up on eveyone elses news when I have found out how to navigate this new set up, I am a bit of a techno idiot.

Hi Dagny,

HAPPY NEW YEAR, wishing you a brill 2004.

I am sorry to hear about your bleeding, these things are sent to try us and bleeding when you see it your heart goes in your mouth and you automatically think the worst. I am glad that everything was ok for you when you went to be checked out, but it does worry us, but I guess the worrying never stops now. We will worry when we are pregnant and when they grow up etc.....

I have been thinking all along that I am having a girl, but alot of people have said boy, but just over 2 weeks to find out, but saying that it could be anytime now.

Take Care
Love

dagny, you must both of been out of your minds with worry. i am so pleased and relieved for you that all is ok. i don't blame you for reconsidering the work front. it's taken so much for us all to get here that being cautious and careful has to be the right thing.

did anyone say what might have caused the bleed to happen?

well, you take it easy. it's great to hear the heartbeat isn't it....

hi Dagny

Poor you. I still find myself 'knicker checking', I can't help it, I do it automatically, but I can't imagine how panicked I would be if I saw something. I'm pleased they have managed to reassure you things will be ok. Perhaps it was old blood from the cervix, I've read on here that this can happen. I'm sure they told you at the hospital that at 16 weeks the risk of m/c is very low, so lets hope things will settle down for you and you'll be able to enjoy the remaining few weeks of being pg.

I've found time has gone so quickly. I can't believe I'm half way already!

Try to take things easy and not worry too much (easier said than done!)

lots of love

Hi Dagny

nice to see you back and glad you had a good break. Hopefully the bleeding is all over with and everything has settled back down. Know what you mean about the work front there are just so many things but this is so important.

Take care

Hi Dagny

Just wanted to say hi, Im thinking of you and that I am often reading but not always posting. I cycled with you in SCB.
You have had a rough time you poor thing, take it easy and if you dont have to go to work sit at home with your feet up!!!
I am doing FET later this month so maybe I will get over this side with luck!
Anyway, I truly hope you have a less traumatic 2004 and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
Lots of Love
