New member, wanting to support wife

Post by jamesrblawrence »

Hi there,
Glad to find this forum, my wife is starting IVF treatment this week. She's out of town doing it in NYC and I am in Wisconsin. Have some questions regarding male responsibility, diet, emotional support. If there's a part of this board where those questions are OK then please let me know. Thanks,
James

James

That's really nice you want to ask questions to find out how you can be supportive of your wife during this process. I'm not sure about the male diet during the process, but as far as women are concerned, no caffeine and alcohol is best. My only suggestion is to be understanding when she is taking her meds. They may make her a little grouchy or impatient. Just remember it is the meds and not you. The whole process can be difficult. I hope it work out for me. My husband and I will have to try for number 3 in a few months. We just got a negative.

Hi James.

You didn't mention your age and your dw (dear wife)age, what is the problem? is her or is it male fertility?

If the problem is male fertility and there are few things that you can do eg.eat food that improves sperm, taking supplements, etc.

What you can do to help her is be very understanding if she looses her temper. The drugs messes up with your nervous system and sometimes we can be over sensitive. Doesn't mean that all the ladies suffer from the side effect but just warning you.

Very important for her is to drink plenty of water to avoid bloated tummy.

I would provide a frozen sample just in case you are injured and cant do a fresh one. And give your wife a big hug everyday. It worked for us.
