When will I feel Movement of my baby?? Almost 20 Weeks Pregn

Post by ARG »

Hi, can anyone give me any advice. I am almost 20 weeks pregnant (on Thursday). I havent felt any movement yet, nothing I could really say was definately the baby. I feel fine. No problems really. I have had scans at 6 weeks and 12 weeks and everything was fine. Is this normal and am I still maybe a little too early to feel anything. Any advice would be good. This is my first baby through IVF.

Congratulations!
I didn't feel movement...the little 'flutter' women had described to me (and I thought they were nuts, as all I felt were pulls and tugs on my ligaments that didn't feel so hot!)...until around week 21 or so...
You're almost there...
Some women claim to 'feel' their babies sooner...I really thought I did too (with the ligament pain) but, until I felt the 'flutter' ... so soft, so sweet, did I realize that THAT was one of my babies.
Now it's a riot...always moving, now I can see one baby on my skin (the other is too far down below my belly button, hell, I can't even see my feet let alone a baby moving!)

EnJOY this time...you are in a real honeymoon phase of the pregnancy, where you can still get out and about ... good luck

Hi Angela, I am 21 weeks with twins, and everyone keeps asking if i feel them and its only in the last week i could definately say yes its the babies. And last night laid in bed i had my hand on my stomack and i actually felt a kick/punch with my hand. It is still very scarce to feel them but ist getting stronger. I noticed it after my 20 week scan most.
Good luck, you will feel them soon enough.
PS my mum told me initially it feels more like wind rolling (popping)around rather than butterflies.

Hi Angela,
One of my nurse buddies explained to me that most women are feeling the baby move around 17-18 weeks or so, but have no idea that is what the feeling is. I've been feeling my little one for about a week or so but only at night if I lay on my stomach. It's very, very faint. At first I thought it was my abdominal aorta pulse, but then I paid attention and it's definitely not a pulse beat. It's a little flutter or bubble feeling -very subtle. I can't feel it all during the daytime.
My sister couldn't feel her first until the 3rd trimester and then swears she felt the 2nd one at about 15 weeks, so it varies a lot. I wouldn't worry about it.

I am 23 weeks with one and just starting to feel him/her a bit more but definitely not regular or constant - I never really had the butterflies or gentle air popping - more like a shifting around in the stomach and twinges. I also got definite movements 2 weeks ago and then nothing for 3 or 4 days - so it seems everyone is different and we must try not to worry!
Me 39 PCO - TTC since Aug 05
2 IVF/ICSI, 2 FET. All BFN
