Oh Miracle, you sound a little sad...hope everything is ok.

Yes, I've been thinking about this a lot lately - particularly how some people are able to skate through life with little problems, and don't understand how hard it is.

(I'm feeling a little sensitive as I had someone gossip about me at work today and how much sick leave I am taking - you really think that people would have more compassion or at the very least try to figure out why - derr, I'm 38 with no kids, you work it out!!)

Good luck with the IUIs in June.

No, I'm actually in Australia. We have similar problems with lack of anonymous donor sperm, due to the access to information laws when the child turns 18. However, I actually believe that the laws are a good thing because I've heard some horror stories from children in my generation that now have 42 half siblings due to unlimited donations from a donor. Not a good thing with such a small population!!

In our case we have switched from anonymous to a known donor (a very kind and generous man that we know). The supplies are there but I'm feeling a little heart sore at the moment due to the last failed IUI. Also, we're saving up for the IVF procedure. Hope to go again around August.

Hope you are travelling ok!

Hi Gargy! Sorry it took me so long to write back. Yeah, I was feeling down the last couple of weeks. Sometimes I get so sad...ya know? DH tries to be supportive but I think seeing babies and pg women bother me more then him...But, I am doing better!

OH, that is right. You are in Austrailia! LUCKY GIRL!! So beautiful there! One day, hopefully, I will get to see it in person.

That must be one amazing DH you have, having a known Donor. So awesome you have two wonderful men in your life!!!
Yeah, I understand the rules too. Can you purchase from the states and have it shipped there? You are saving for IVF, are you not responding to the meds well? Are you going to try for another IUI? I am sorry your heart is hurting right now. I cant imagine how tough it is.

Thanks for the luck with my IUI's in June, I think I am going to need it. I am so scared.

Tell the gossips at work to mind their business and get a life of their own. SOME people are just awful!!! Try not to let them hurt you or bring you down. SCREW THEM!!

Hi Miracle,

I'm responding to the drugs ok, just no pregnancy at the end.

The last IUI was the third time in the last 2 years.

As I am 38 I believe that I've given IUI enough chances and it's time to move on to IVF.

We're happy to continue with our known donor. After all the bureaucracy over the last 12 months I think we have moved away from the idea of an unknown donor.

Hope things are going ok with you.

Not great actually.

Had a work review today, which although quite good, showed that my emotional state is being noticed by others, including my manager and he voiced his concerns.

Looks like I will need to go and talk to my GP about depression.

I had this feeling for a while, just wasn't sure what to do about it.

Also have a referral to a Natropath so I'll be making an appointment with her to see if she is any good (although 2 people have recommended her).

How are things with you?

Gargy-

So sorry hun. I can totally relate. My mother and sister keep saying I am not the same person. They think I am depressed. I know they mean well but it is very irritating to me. I feel like yelling...HELLO DO YOU NOT REMEMBER I CANNOT HAVE A BABY??? I know it isnt supposed to consume you but I dont care who you are, it does. I dont sit and cry everyday all day, but NOT one day goes my that I am not thinking about it.

What did your manager say? As long as you are there doing your job and respectful to others there really isnt anything they can say.
Do they know what you are going through?

What is a GP and Natropath?

Where are you at in your treatment? Are you going to do anymore IUI's?

Well for me, life as been so stressful. DH was laid off three weeks ago. The economy here in the US is HORRIBLE!!! We are now spending our baby money. I am really only using it if/when i have to. He got a call today about a job, so he will start working again tomorrow! (March 18)
But he will be earning HALF of what he usually made. So I am very happy he will be working, but we are going to be hurting too. UUURRGGHH! I feel like we never get a break. i know that there is people that have it way worse then me. I try to remember that when I get really frustrated.

That is the gist of it. Dont think i will be able to start our IUI's in june now....

I agree about thinking about it everyday.

Actually I'm starting to think my best friend may have been right - that I was recovering from illness and just low because of that, but I will be seeing the IVF counsellor next week to see if there is anything she can suggest. This is actually a swallowing my pride thing as I believe she was more interested in DH than me - so I will have to work through this first.

My manager is concerned with the amount of leave I am taking, as well as not being passionate about my role. I've said that I will do something about it. Yes they do know about what is going on.

A GP is a general practitioner - I think you call them MDs? The ones you go to for general health issues rather than a specialist.

A natropath is a person involved in natural medicine - like a herbalist.

No, no more IUIs for us. Saving money for IVF.

So sorry to hear about your DH being laid off. We've heard how bad it is in the States at the moment in terms of the economy. I hope that this new job leads to bigger and better things.

Also sorry that you won't be starting in June as expected.

Take care.

Hi Gargy
Just thought I would pop in and say hi. I took a rest from the boards for a while. Just trying not to think about the whole infertility thing
Anyway I do know how you feel. I had to leave my job and go to part-time work as the travelling time back and forth to the clinic was more than my boss could handle   And yes the money side of it well we have to continue now with the iui's as we can't afford ivf at the moment.

I really hope things improve at work for you and that your counsellor can give you some helpful advise!!

Hi Miracle
Best of luck with your next iui!!

Hi Kery,

Good to hear from you again!

That's really sad about your boss being less than supportive and having to continue with IUI because you have gone to part time.

I'm starting to feel better about work again.

And I'll be seeing the counsellor tomorrow.

I noticed from your signature that you are starting an IUI again soon/have already started.

How is it going?

Hey Gargy, havent been on this site for a while how have you been. Sorry to hear about your failed IVF. Have you heard from Polly and Donna? I took a leave from TTC and am back on the TTC train again. I did my first IUI on March 25th and am on the dreaded TWW now. I test on April 8th. What is your plan now.

Hi Miracle08,

How are things going with you?

Hey Kery,

Where are you up to in the IUI process? Thinking of you.

Hey Henrietta,

Good to hear from you again!

Donna is now investigating adoption - haven't heard from her in a while.

Polly disappeared shortly after finding a new website - so haven't heard from her in quite a while.

Have also seriously considered taking a break from here - but haven't done so yet.

Fingers crossed for you on the 8th!!

Just taking some me time to resolve some issues with depression - and also save some money. We'll probably start up again in August.

Hey Gargy
I hope you start feeling better soon. Did you go to see the counsellor? I know what ya mean about the money side. We have put everything we had in our savings towards this. If this doesn't work then we need to go to ivf next. It will take us about a year to save if we end up going down that path. Will you be doing a iui or ivf in august?
