I am going through a fresh cycle and on stimulation medication at the moment. I am taking Gonal F - 225 iu after having hyperstimulation at 300 iu last time. I had my first scan and they found 17 follicles.
I am thinking of using blastocysts this time. Hopefully, I should have enough good embies.
Any one used blastocysts before ? Has anyone had to freeze remaining blastocysts ? Would love to hear your views.

rlk - im off to the lake district in uk. It is only 4 hours from where i live. Staying in a little log cabin (Lurvly) . Lots of lakes and mountains and scenery that kind of thing
I noticed you did clomid once. In my last consultation with OHSS they decided to put me on clomid and collect from it. I noticed it wasnt in an Ivf cycle for you. Have you heard of this before. How did you find clomid. I really dont take well to any drugs you see. Can you remember having any side effects?

I was on this forum last may on my first IVF cycle, ended up with 6 eggs only 3 fertilized, 2 transferred, resulted in BFN. We took a break tried again in Feb '08. This time around got 26 eggs with 14 high grade embryos. My RE felt I would definitely have OHSS by the way my E2 levels were rising and how my ovaries looked and she convinced us to freeze all 14 of them. FET is scheduled for early April. I wish to join all of you through this journey and hopefully everyone of us ends up with a BFP.

Dawn-- I was on CLomis one cycle before we knew it was make factor....I didnt have any side effects
Ang-- Im doing the AF dance for you!
Sita-- Welcome....I transferred 2 blasts last cycle and one that hadnt quite made i to blast. From what I understand, its better success rates if they make it to blasts. Unfortunatly we got a BFN we did freeze 2 blasts....but they arent the best quality. Thats why we are doing another fresh cycle. We are in a shared risk program....so we can do 6 fresh cycles!
Okay I;ll let everyone know how my bw and u/s go tomorrow!

Hey Everyone - I'm usually on the Feb/March board, but I thought I'd lurk over here for a moment too.
rlk1 - I also have PCOS. This is our first IVF cycle, and we just had ER yesterday. My follicles were small most of the time. In fact, we ended up stimming for 13 days total. They finally upped our Follistim at Day 8. We were afraid that they were going to cancel our cycle, but with our last u/w and b/w, we decided to proceed forward. I had 2 follies at 18 and several others at 15-16.
They retrieved 10 eggs and 8 are mature. I'm waiting for the fertility report later on today.
Hang in there....it might be slow going, but you'll progress. And the emotional roller coaster is HORRIBLE. One day at a time....and it will be all worth it in the end.

Sita: YAY!! I'm glad you decided to join us! How's your stimming coming along? Have they given you a tentative ER date?
Angram: Cramps and spotting is a good sign--means AF is on its way!! Funny how we either can't wait for it to show up or hope to God it doesn't appear. Gotta love the extremes!
Dawn: Wow, your upcoming vacation sounds heavenly!! Enjoy yourself!! So they treated your OHSS with Clomid? Did I understand that correctly? For me, like Neffi, I had very little side effects with Clomid. I only tried it once and the only side effect I can remember was occasional night sweats.

J&C: Thanks so much for posting here. Your story gives me hope (and peace of mind!). What great numbers for you--8 mature eggs is fantastic! As for me, I had another u/s and b/w this morning. It looks like my little follicles are trying--I have 2 now that are over 11mm. We'll see what the doc says once my E2 level comes back. I'm trying to go with the flow, but it's hard for my type A, tightly wound, personality to do!!

Hey ladies-- I only have a mintue so Ill do personals later tonight!
bw and u/s went great! I have 15 follies over 10mm. Most are in the 14-16 range and there are 7 others that arent yet over 10. I havent heard fromthem today, but I still think ER will be friday. I have a feeling they are going to lower my follistum tonight and start be othr med....I can never remember what it is....but somehting like lupron, but only 3 shots. They want to give me more time cause I guess my follies are a little ahead of my lining. So I'm thinking friday, but it could be Thursday. Rlk1-- Buddy! Thats great news...follies are grwoing!!! ANy changes with your meds?? Okay Ill be back later tonight! Have a good afternoon! Steph

Sita - Blasts are used often at my clinic. I couldnt use them myself because i didnt product enough eggs. Theyre success rate is higher than any other frozen or fresh. At my clinic it is actually 50%. I asked my clinic and the only snag is that you have to produce alot of eggs because some dont survive thawing.

rlk - The clomid is being used on my fresh cycle (If needed) Because i react so highly to the drugs. Clomid is going to be used to stim.

So...here's the latest. My E2 rose to 415, but they're going to increase my meds (now 75 units of follistim versus 37 units). They want to see me back on Wednesday for another u/s and b/w. I'm hoping and praying it goes well! Wish me luck!
