kildean--I never experienced the navel soreness, but we all seem to have such different symptoms. I wouldn't worry too much yet, but if you're concernd, you can always contact your doc. By the way, where are you in Indiana? My RE was in Noblesville. I moved to Indiana for a week to go through treatment....

Good luck to you!

Kimi--sounds like you're doing better! Do what you can, and since you're supplementing, you know the babies are getting enough. I hope the bfing supply picks up for ya! :)

 :D Twenty One Weeks tomorrow - Fourteen Weeks corrected :D

Hi guys thought I'd dropping in while the little darlings are asleep.

It is soooo true about 12 weeks being the turn around - but what they don't tell you is that is 12 weeks from the corrected age. Cos my bambinos were so small everything food related has taken much longer and of course how much you can eat effects how long you can sleep for and stay awake for. But now I am very please to report my beautiful babies are sleeping every night from 7 - 11pm when we wake them for a feed then from 11.45 - 7am when they wake us for a feed!

We also have finally had to take them out of their single cot where they slept feet and head towards bars next to each other, and put them into their own cots - feet at the foot board. This meant moving one of the cots out of our room and putting it into their own room. A real right of passage. They seemed so grown up!

We also started solids two weeks on Friday and so far we have enjoyed baby rice with formula and homemade pear with mango and apple juice. Yummy. Its so funny to watch them getting it everywhere their little tounges learning what to do. Fina even opens her mouth wide now when she sees a spoon bless. And Pepe talks and smiles broadly during the whole event. Cute.

Suddenly it is feeling less like hard work and more like fun!

Hey everyone! Back from a fun, but long, weekend!!! house guests are a blast to have and to have leave. At least we really enjoyed out activities and the babies LOVED the added attention!

Quita~ Glad to hear things are going so well. My babies just started solids about 3 weeks ago, or so, and they are really starting to love it. Today they added summer squash and it's a clear favorite for Bodie. It's really helped him add a few calories as well since I mix his rice cereal with a spoon full of Neosure still. Keep up the happiness! I agree that it just gets more fun!!

Kildean23~ I didn't have naval tenderness either but I can't imagine that some women don't get it. You must be due in late Oct. or Nov.??? Glad to have you onboard the twin ship!!!!! CONGRATS!

Kimi~ I can feel that htings are going so much better! HURRAY!!!! Pumping was no friend of mine either but as my babies got older they have continued to drink more so my body just keeps making more. At my class I learned that almost 100% of the women who REALY want to nurse can produce enough milk for as many as 4 babies!!!!! I was amazed by that!!!! Sounds like you have found a better program for you and the babies. I hope it just continues to get better!

Di~ Just saw pictures of Bronte and Harry!!!! ADORABLE!!! Cannot believe how much they look alike!!!! what sweeties! How are things? Did you get to do an whole other nursery idea in your new place?? Can't wait to hear how things are going!

Kim~ Love, love, love the new pics!!!!! Your babies remind me of my own. Maybe it's just me but Ellie has the smaller features and Braeden seems to have bigger ones just like my two. Anna has peanut sized dreamy eyes while Bodie has these WHOPPER "Can't say no" big brown ones. Ellie looks thrilled to be at swim. Dh had me wait unitl after snowmobile season to start swim so we are really looking forward to it! Are you dug out of snow yet?? Keep the super cute pics coming! I can' belive how much they grow!!!

Woodcliff~I agree w/ you totally!!!! People complain alot about being pg and although I know it's hard it's also AMAZING!!!! I am fortunate that my pg was so easy but I also knew it may be my one and only time so I wasn't about to remember it in a negative light. Most of the really sick twin mommies are doing their very best to see the light at the end of the tunnel! :) For diaper bags, I ended up with a Kate Spade diaper bag and I love it!!! It's very cute and easy to keep clean. I also have a super trendy kimono looking one that a friend bought me and it's cute as well but the shoulder strap is so silky that it never stays on my shoulder! So much for being stylish! Bedding~ I made my own and love it!!!!! Since I painted a mural I was having a hard time finding bedding to match. Unfortunately I didn't get it done until they were about 6 weeks old!!! Ooops! 33 weeks is fabulous!!!!! Keep up the great work!

Better run~ It could take me a month of Sundays to clean our house after the tornado of people that have been here! thank goodness the babies are wiped out today and sleeping so well!

Take care~

Di-I saw your pics last night when I was putting mine on the bucket...how are you? Update when you can. I'm sure you're busy.

Kimberly--glad to hear the weekend went well. That's funny that you think Ellie has smaller features, because whenever I look at braeden, I think he's so dainty for a boy. I'm sure it'll even out as he gets older, but Ellie is my SUMO WRESTLER! We do love swim lessons (although DH complains about getting up early on Saturdays---he doesn't get to "sleep in"---I'm sorry, what was that? ) The kids take the BEST NAPS afterwards...so worth it! We actually missed our last class on Saturday due to the blizzard, but I signed us up for another session (take that, DH!), so we'll be swimming for another 8 weeks!

Snow is melting, THANK GOD! We're supposed to hit 50 later this week. I'll be tuning up our stroller and taking the babies to the park....I can't wait!

Agaaah!!
Don't you love it when you lose everythig you typed!?
I wrote personals for everyone!!

Sounds like everyone's doing well.
I am glad you had a nice time with your friends, Kimberly. I cannot personally imagine entertaining at this time, but I am sure I will soon have my energy back. My DH"s side of the family is planning to come in May, so hopefully by then I have the twin thing down. Yeah, I feel better these days. I think the first 4 weeks were tough, trying to adjust to the new role and finally I am starting to feel confident in caring for the twins. Once my Mom leaves and Sean stops going to his daycare in May, I am sure we have to readjust again. Wow, we can feed 4 babies, huh!? I need to look into the tandem feedling pillow. Do you recommend a particular brand?

Kim, I hope the snow melts for you soon. I am sure you are used to the snow but I guess the last storm was a big one! Yeah, at least I know they are getting enough. I don't know how long it can last, but I've decided to try anyway. I saw the pics of your little ones. They are so so cute!! Looks like like they are very happy babies.

I just ordered a bunch of clothes from Pumpkin Patch. The company is from UK and they make very cute and high quality kids clothes. They are having fabulous deals at their outlet page, in case anyone's interested!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I lost what I typed and I am too lazy to type more again!!

Hi Kelley, glad you found some clothes for your son! I bought 7 outfits and only paind $57 including shipping!

I am happy to report that Noah and Alyson are 8 pounders now! It was more than I expected and pretty pleased with their weight gain. I am guessing within a few weeks, they will be over 10 pounds and perhaps they might be ready for longer sleep by then. Oh, that would be wonderful. Everything was good with the twins and the doctor thinks they will be tall since they have long legs!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I am glad the weekend is coming up. A friend of mine is having a C-section tomorrow and she and I went through FET together on the same day. So, our due date was the same except I was carrying twins. I am very excited for her and looking forward to meeting her new baby this weekend.

Take care!

Kimi~ Great weights!!! Doesn't it feel good to get some confirmation that you are keeping the littles healthy and strong? For me it always felt so great to hear the new number and actually have someone say I was doing a great job. Validation eases the mind! Congrats! Also, that is a darling web page for sure for clothes. I haven't had time to order anything but the prices were fabulous! Enjoy seeing your friends new baby!

Sugarbeanzs~ Report back after your appointment! We love hearing about all the pregnancy excitement! Enjoy!

My babies may have caught their first cold!!!! AGHGHH! Both babies started coughing yesterday and last night so this morning we are going to be calling the Dr. Sometimes babies get a cough while teething so I'm wondering if it could be that or a real cold! Our house guests had two kids w/ coughs and running noses but they both are allergy prone children and their mother reassured me they often had runny noses due to that. Perhaps she was wrong???   Bodie has slept so poorly the last two nights that I could pull my hair out. Last night he even woke up Annelise who sleeps like a tank! Poor little muffins were both up and ready to play at 5:30!!! Little did they know they were headed back down after a fresh diaper!

Busy day ahead of us so I better run. I opted out of the mountain this weekend due to the coughs so I'll be my normal posting too much self this weekend!

Take care~

Kimberly---it's about time they caught a cold--ha ha! don't fret too much. My ped says its actually GOOD for their immune system, go figure! I'm sure you're friends kids passed it on to yours. THat's they way it works. Trust me, I dread seeing snot on any kids at my sitters' house! HEre's some stuff that works for my kiddos (who are finally over their most recent colds): saline nose drops, vicks vapo rub (baby kind), humidifier, and the pediasure vapor plug ins. It helped my two sleep so much better! YOu're right about the teeth thing. My two got very runny noses when their first teeth came. But then it seemed to turn into a cold anyway?

Kimi--great weights! You're doing a great job! How's the bfing going?

Quita--I'm glad your two are sleeping better! Isn't it a tear-jerker to separate them into different cribs? I hated doing it, but it had to be done....

kildean--how are you doing?l

sugabeanz--good luck on your US.

woodcliff--are you still with us? I hope you're hanging in there!

As for us, we had our 9 month appt. today. We're 9 months, how can that be?????????????????    The kiddos are doing great. Ellie weighed in at 20 lbs 13 oz (about 28 1/4 inches), and Braeden weighed in at 18 lbs 11 oz (about 29 3/4 inches). I'm going to start calling him slim jim!  We're now venturing into finger foods. They loooove cheerios and smushed up grapes. I can't get food to them fast enough! WHen we left our appt. I had to schedule their 1 year appointment---I totally had to choke back tears. THEY CANNOT BE THAT OLD YET!!!!

Kim~ OMG!!!! 9 months!!!!! you are killing me! I just don't want yours to grow up because that means mine will as well! 20 lbs. for miss Ellie and Mr. Trump is now slim Jim. gotta love nicknames! Ours have so many it's almost enough to make me blush. ( Anna, Anabanana, Nannerpants, Chubby cheek, Pork chop, punkin', Bo, Bobo, Bodieshmodie, buddy, muffin, The main man, . . . need we go on?) Thanks so much for the advice. We are still at a little cough here and there but I will start doing the things you suggested just to try prevent it from going and further. Thanks again!

Quick question for all you mommies. Bodie is such a poor sleeper but Annelise is my super star. I tried to let Bodie hammer it out but he wakes up Anna. Our bedrooms are so close that I'm not sure moving to another room will do too much good and the other rooms have hard wood so the echo is fierce! Our great room is so far away I'm not sure I'm ready for that. What do I do to help this fella sleep better at night. He wakes every 3 hours like clock work all day and night! He is getting up 2-3 times as night and I am just becoming less accepting and more ambitious to rid us of this. Any suggestions when they are so close and did any of you deal with this? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!! :)

BTW~ I saw a gal at the store today with a baby that was so tiny! I asked how old and she was 5 months! Then she said she was a twin but they had TTT and she was born at 6 months but her twin died and she was 1lb2oz. Made me slap myself for the embarresment I felt as Anna screamed thru the store. That woman would give anything to have two screaming babies. Just a little reminder of how lucky we really are.

Have a great night everyone.
Take care~

Ladies! sorry to disappear, trying to 'smash' everything in...week by week. Can't believe I'm 34 weeks+..lots to do but very happy...

Killean (sp), I had horrible navel pain at around 22 weeks, so bad it made me cry and we were very worried, it lasted a couple of hours and I finally got some rest and it went away.
It was all baby positioning...nothing serious...but do mention it to your OB...

Kimberly, wishing Bodie some sleep..you too...it's gotta be confounding!!! Maybe he's having really wild dreams  and just wants to share them ...
And so happy you had a nice pregnancy! It seems people either have really rough ones or nice ones..I feel so bad for the women who are in serious pain..then guilty cuz I can't relate...sigh.

But what a sad story re: the twin mom....gosh, to survive at 6 months...poor woman to lose her one baby...yes, a reminder...

Ok, off to bed...hoping to achieve more tomorrow...in my few waking hours!!!

Kimberly---Yeah, nicknames....I really HAVE to stop calling my daughter, Ellie Belly....like that isn't an invitation to an eating disorder.....it's just such a habit now.

As for the sleep thing, I never went through this (thank goodness), but I've heard of lots of twin mommas who have. From what I've heard, they had to separate the noisy baby into another room for a while so he could cry it out. I know you're rooms aren't that far apart, but at least it's not the same room. It may be just enough space for Ana Banana to not wake up. Maybe put a rug or big comforter under a pack-n-play? That might help with the noise too. I'm guessing it wouldn't take much more than a few days or so for him to get the idea that you're not coming in. It'll be hard, but you can do it. Keep us posted!

Woodcliff, glad you're still with us! Yeah, you!

Thanks Kim! You mean you don't think dh calling Annelise "Pork Chop" is brilliant! It is so sweet and I just love that he can't resist squeezing her when he says it!

The sleep thing. . . yeah! I know I'm going to need to just move him in to the pack-n-play and he'll have to scream it out a few nights. Is it wrong to put a baby in the garage?? :? JUST KIDDING!!!! Last night was so bad but the coughing has suckered me in! It's like he got a cough because he knew it was coming.

Went to the "Egg Extravaganza" at the zoo today! ADORABLE!!!!!! We are buying the year membership for sure (all of $52.50) and I think we'll try to start taking a lot of our walk in there. It's so fun and they love seeing all the people. . .as long as no one touches Annelise! :?

Lastly, I am trying to make a web page and it's turning out so easy! Mine is just getting started but if anyone is interested in doing it as well you can check mine out. I am super lame at web page stuff so don't laugh but I'm telling you because it's so easy that I can do it! That's easy!!!! www.batesbabies.blogspot.com. Let me know if anyone starts one so we can share pages!

Hi Guys,

How is your weekend going?
Mine is pretty much the same as any other day because we have two newborns! Sometimes, it does feel overwhelming. It's a feeding and diapering marathon that seems like it would never stop.
The babies must be going through a growth spurt since they are eating frequently. That is a good thing as I am counting days until they reach 10lbs mark! They are getting a little chubbier now. They are developing rolls on their thighs!

Kimberley - I was talking to my husband the other day how I've never been to the Boise zoo. I spent a lot of time around the zoo, being next to the college. I am glad you had a fun outing with your babies. I have the same concern about the babies awaking each other. They are still pretty sleepy and not much would wake them up, but I can see in the future that it would become a problem... Let me know what worked! That's so cute you have so many nicknames for your little ones. I tend to have many for my kids and cats, too. That is very sad about the lady you saw at a grocery store. I am thankful, too, my twins were ok. My little Alyson initially was much smaller than Noah in early pregnancy and we were quite concerned.

Kim - 9 months is a very cute period. Babies change a lot after 10th month and they start to look more like a toddler. I feel so lucky to be able to experience it all over again. Well, the bfding is going just OK. My babies are way used to the bottle now and it takes a long time for them to get the correct latching. Alyson does well once she latches correctly but both of them tend to get very sleepy while nursing and they end up falling asleep. I have to still pump twice a day now since they cannot empty them. I struggled more with Sean, so I am satisfied with how things are going now with the twins. I struggled with Sean even with formula. He is not a good eater and guess what, he is a very picky eater!

Woodcliff - doing a very good job! Before you know it, you will have your babies in your arms. Everything happened so fast for me. I went off work at 32nd week and I was going to rent some movies and enjoy some rest time, but Noah had another plan!

How are everyone else?
