Reunion - Any April/May 06 cyclers still out there?

Post by Xrayem »

Hi,

I did my first IUI in April 2006 and was lucky enough to belong to a thread of girls who hepled me through the darkest days and I often wonder where everyone is now.

Just wanted to start a thread so that if anyone was lurking they could drop in and say hi and let me know how they are doing and where life is taking them now.

Life is great for us now. The twins are getting on to 9 months old and we have started talking about the best time to try an FET with some of our remaining embies.

Would love to know that everyone is ok.

Em, Jackie, Aunty!

It is so nice to see everyone. We are doing really well here. The boys are crawling everywhere and starting to eat some big people food. They are the love of my life! Poor DH has been pushed to 3rd place!

Em- I am so excited for you that you are having another baby! You are going to be busy with a newborn and 18 month old twins. But I am sure having one baby to care for will seem like nothing after managing two infants at once!

Jackie- I'm so glad you are doing well. I bet Kennedy is also crawling and eating Cheerios! Can you post a picture, I'd love to see her.

Aunty- I am so glad you are back and healthy. I watched your my space page for updates and was so happy to see you got the all clear. You will make incredible foster parents! Some child is going to be very lucky to be placed with you.

Thank you for that! I have 8 frosties and if we ever decide to use them I know where I will go for support!!!

So glad to read everyone's updates!!

Jeck- I am so happy you were able to bring your baby home! I know they made some changes to the adoption rules in Guatemala and I was worried it might affect your adoption.

Here are some photos of the boys for Auntie!

Oh My Goodness LauraLou!!!! Look at your little fighters!!!! It brings tears to my eyes remembering back to your pregnancy and how it was so back and forth for a bit!!! Amazing!!!!

Yes Guatemalan Adoptions are undergoing many changes and are closed at the moment. I do hope that whatever changes are in the best interest of the children and they are not forgotten in amongst the red tape.

Jaden came home in October at age 15ms. He is almost 21ms now and the joy of our lives... I didn't know that I could love a human being like I do him. Every morning I put him in the bed with us to drink his milk-milk and after he was done I felt him feeling around for me and then crawling on top of me. I thought he was crawling over me to get off the bed but instead he laid on my chest and smothered me with kisses and hugs. He does a butt wiggle when he is snuggling and I got the butt wiggle too!!!

I love it!!!!!! I know you guys do to!!!

Aunty - I am so excited that you are pursuing the foster care you will be awesome at it!!!!

Jeck- He is so beautiful!!!! He looks like such a sweetheart! You are so lucky!!! How wonderful that he waited to take his first steps until he was home with you. You all look so happy in the photos.

We have the same car seat with the cowmooflage cover. Well actually we have 2! I think it is so cute for little boys.

I am also amazed when I look at my boys. We had such terrible embryos and were amazed when I tested positve. But then they told me I had miscarried, then that I had an ectopic, then that the baby was too small and wouldn't make it, and finally they figured out I had identical twins! I had a difficult pregnancy but I knew they would be fine as they had fooled the doctors before.

Like you, I am so incredibly happy! I really never knew I could love like this.

Hello lovely ladies...
I am so cranky with this site. I have it set to send me a email with any messages but it did not send me one.. I just happened to look back on here by chance.. I am so glad I did...

Laura your boys are so handsome.. I will never forget what you went through. Your boys are fighters and you had the faith and you brought them home. You are such an amazingly strong women to have gone through all that. They are truly little fighters as Jeck said...You are so blessed to have them.. You must be very very busy..

Em,
Did you have updated pics on photo bucket? I will have to go searching? You must be very busy but also you are so blessed.. I miss you all so very much.. How are the babies?

Jeck,
Oh honey you were meant to be Jayden's mommy. You could have kept going with the procedures but look at what you have now. I think it was mean that you and your sweet hubby were going to be Jaydens parents. He is such a beautiful and lucky little boy...How are the doggies doing?

Aunty
oh honey what can I say.. You are going to be such an amazing foster parent. Any child will be so blessed to have you and Sam as their parents.. We love you

So for us.. Kennedy is growing so fast.. She is just over 10 months. Every day I look at her and just think "how did we get so lucky". Ghost told me once that sooner or later I would look at this time in my life and forget the IVF part. I truly don't belive I ever will. I feel so blessed and lucky everyday. I don't know why all of us had to go through what we have all been through but I am so thankful we all had eachother.. You all kept me sane.. Well as sane as I can be.. Kennedy is pulling up and taking steps with a walker.. her new favorite food is peanuter butter sandwhiches.. she is the light of our life..
Well I will go post the photo now..
love and hugs
Jackie

Aunty - Tell us all about the foster situation... How does it work? Is there any chance for foster to adopt? I know each state is different. KY is big on doing everything they can to give the bio-parents as many chances as possible... Which after a while I don't believe that is the best interest for the child or anyone involved...

LauraLou - I love Jaden's car seat... That was one of my splurges, I knew that he had never been in a car seat... (Guatemala hasn't caught up to that) and I wanted to get the softest, most comfortable one possible. Plus it didn't hurt that it was really cute!! (and safe)

Thanks for checking out my site. I originally started it so that Jaden's foster family can get online and see pictures of him. Now, if I don't get it update my family in other states start to complain... I at least try to update it at least once a week if not more... Come back and visit us at anytime.

Jackie - Yes, I absolutely believe that I was meant to be Jaden's mommy!!! I still get overwhelmed that God picked me to watch this wonderful little boy grow up! The dogs are doing wonderful and they love Jaden. Ravin AKA RAVO and Gracie AKA GADIN get their names screamed at the top of his little lungs all the time. He is always looking for them and hugging on them. Gracie is actually gaining weight because she is Jaden's cheerio buddy, 1 for him, 1 for Gracie and so forth!

Em - I have seen pictures of your little one's on photobucket and they are adorable.... Do you watch Jon & Kate plus eight?? They just wanted 1 more after twins and they got 6!!! That could be you!! LOL!! Just kidding!! I paid the rent on my embies for another year... Don't know if I will ever use them or not... but I know where they are if I change my mind!!

Hi Lady's,

Jeck yep your right we are being sneaky...LOL here in NY i wouldn't pass an adoption panel with my recent history, it was my in laws who suggested this route...gotta love em... how it works here is if you go for adoption your only allowed to ask for older children as babies never come up?!!!!!! but if you foster you get offered the new born's (not always, sometimes they are a little older)they stay with you for 6 months during this time the birth parents have all the chances and help they can to get them selves in order and have their babies back after 6 months they are asked to sign them over and you are given first dibs on adopting, crazy how if you want to adopt a new born or very young child your told they don't have any isn't it.

I know we risk attachment then having to give them back but we are willing and i truly trust that if we are meant to have a forever baby we will, if not then we hope we can make a little difference along the way so not totally selfish...right.

love Aunty

Oh girls!

This is exactly what I hoped for when I started this thread! It is so great to hear from you all and to hear how happy your lives have all turned out to be after mess we all met each other in. Just look: we have Aunty fostering, Jeck adopting, Jackoa with her angel and Lauralou with her miracle twins. And then me - twins with IVF and now a natural BFP!

We are all so blessed to have found a unique path in life that brings us so much joy.

I hope that those who are just starting out on the IVF journey take the time to read all of these individual stories and see that there is love, life and happiness after IVF, and not necessarily the way you had envisioned it.

Aunty - I am so pleased that you are well again and know that you will make a fabulous foster Mum. What a priveledged position to be in, taking children out of dangerous situations and showing them love! Good luck to you.

Jeck - Wow! Jayden sounds great! That must have been amazing to go and get him for the first time, knowing that he was yours forever. I get goosebumps thinking about it!

LauraLou - The boys look so happy! They have grown so much. I tried to put on some recent phoos of my two but it never seems to work for me.

Jackoa - So great to hear from you! I will get over to the photobucket and have a look at Kennedy's pics soon.

Well, time for bed for this little black duck! I forgot how tired you get when you are pregnant!

Much love Em

EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I blinked and you got preggers!!!! You work fast my friend!!! That is awesome!!! Congrats!!!!

I agree I hope some of the ladies in cycle reads our posts. There IS life after IVF! I wouldn't have Jaden if it wasn't for my IVF journey. It made me strong enough to face the stresses of adoption. I always find it so funny that after we accepted Jaden's referral that my bloodwork finally came back in with the results of why that I miscarry and they could be easily fixed. My RE called and was ready to set up my next cycle and my answer was I have a son in Guatemala that I need to bring home!! And I have never looked back...

Keep us updated on your pregnacy!!! Congrats again!!!!
