Cycle buddies in March/April anyone?

Post by angram »

Hi Everyone!

rlk1 - With all that we're going through and the $$ we're paying, we have the right to call our doctors every single day if we want. I'm glad she gave you good news and I feel we should call and get the right answer instead of worrying ourselves sick about it and not finding out.

nicaliw & DrJen - We will absolutely stick around to follow your cycle and see you through to the BFP!

elisabethski73 - Welcome to the group and good luck with the stimming.

Neffi - Good luck tomorrow, you must be so very excited!! We will be looking for your BFP very soon.

As for me, I finally started stimming today! Had my b/w and u/s today and everything looked good. I'm actually participating in a study of long lasting release of gonal-f, so we just found out today which party of the study we're in and we received our injection (one shot releases slowly over 5 days). The unfortunate part is that we got the short end of the deal and had to receive the lowest dosage in the study (based on randomization), so we're really hoping my body cooperates! We go back next Monday for more b/w and u/s and then start the daily injections of regular gonal-f. They're not allowed to give me more than 150/day, based on the study, so keep your fingers crossed my follies grow!! Sorry for the long note, but I'll let you all know next week how it's going.

1st time IVF-er joining group!

Post by chelly180 »

Hi all!
Sorry to join so late but I will barely be starting BCP tomorrow. I was waiting for AF FOREVER (41 days)!!!!! I was so late that they did a beta and I was praying, but BAM sure enough I started the very next day!
I won't be starting lupron till april 1st, so ER won't be until late April. (I think similar timing to DrJen)
I am so excited and nervous....I don't know what to expect. DH is so on-board, I am blessed to have such a great guy!
I noticed several of yall are doing acupuncture; is there truly an advantage or is it more of a relaxation thing? Should I be doing it too?
I will be praying for all of yall and your embies!!!
God Bless!

Long Day

Post by DrJen »

Hi ladies! I had a long day at work today. Steph knows how that goes. Seemed like I had problem patients all day!

Neffi: good luck tomorrow! I know everything will go great--I'll be praying for you. Make sure you relax and don't think about work!

rlk1: I agree with everyone, you should never apologize for calling your RE! They should be there to support us emotionally as well as physically! The day I got my BFN, my RE spent 20min on the phone explaining and reassurring.

chelly180: Glad to see someone else is waiting around like me! This is my IVF#2 and I'm hoping and praying for a BFP! The worst part for me is traveling for the b/w and u/s appts. I go to St Louis which is over 2hrs each way! So, I will be working extra to make up for taking time off in April. You get used to the shots. As crazy as it sounds, I miss them now. I guess b/c I feel like I'm in limbo just waiting for my cycle to begin. As far as the acupuncture, I am doing it purely for relaxation. I alternate 1 week with acupuncture and 1 week with massage. I live in a small, rural community, so pricing isn't bad. When I asked my RE about acupuncture he said there is no contraindication, but no sound scientific evidence it improves results of IVF/IUI. I am such a type A personality that I need all the relaxation I can get. However, I'm tired of people telling me I'd get pregnant if I'd just RELAX!!!

angram: good luck with the study! Sounds exciting. Can't wait to get the update.

elisabethski73: Welcome!

Anie: Good luck--I'll be praying!

nicaliw: Glad to see you're in April also! They'd better stick around for our BFP's :)

Hello all!

Sorry for being MIA; I've been really busy with school/work/life. I've read your posts, but I'm really tired right now. I will do personals tomorrow or Friday (thank God we have our spring break next week!).

A quick update from me. I went for b/w and u/s this morning. I got scared because by looking at the ultrasound the doctor thought (she wasn't sure) that I had ovulated. If that had been the case, they were going to postpone my FET for my next cycle...   but all depended on my hormonal levels. Well, as it turns out, my levels were wonderful and we are still full force!!! my transfer is still scheduled for next week (3/19). No more u/s or b/w for me until transfer day. I'm taking my estrace and I'll start with the PIO injections tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to that part, but I am excited because I feel that I'm getting closer and closer to holding my baby(ies).

Ok, I'm sending lots of luv and baby dust to you all...

I'm back from ET today, and I feel great! We had 4 strong embies, all 4 were 8 cell and a grade "A". RE really didn't want to transfer 4, so we did 3, which is what I've been hoping for since this process started. For the 4th embie, if it continues to split well, we'll freeze it for later.

I'm laying around today and tomorrow and taking it easy. My pregnancy test will be on Easter Sunday, March 23rd.

rlk - You're definitely not crazy, and for what we (or our insurance) is paying for, they can answer all the questions that we need to ask. That's what they are there for. :D

Neffi - Let us know how the ER goes!! Good luck!

Hello Ladies,
Sorry, I ‘ve not post any updates since the last time I joint the cycle. I've been busy with work/school, I had to travel for work and also study for my exam.
Anyways, as I said before my transfer is tomorrow.
I decide not to tell anyone in my family this time around, I didn't even tell my husband when my transfer is, I've booked a hotel room for me to stay in the next couple of days after my transfer. I want to surprise them with positive news.
Since, this is my sixth time doing this; I didn’t want to worry anyone unless I have positive result.

Anyways, thank you for welcoming me into the group. I am keeping everyone of us in my prayers.

God bless

Hi all!

Wow, so many posts on this thread! It's so fun to hear how everyone is!

You guys are so nice--thanks for all the comforting words from everyone. It really puts my mind at ease!

Esperenza and Nicaliw: It's so great to hear from you! We missed you!

Angram: YAY-another stimming buddy! The study you're in sounds so interesting! Keep us updated!

Elisabethski and Chelly: Welcome! I'm so glad you joined this thread. It's so helpful to have other women to talk to about this adventure!

Neffi: Good luck today! I know you'll do great! Fill us in, when you're up to it! Yep, I'm an HPT girl. I did 3 IUIs prior to trying IVF, and I tested each time. I'm sure I'll do the same with this IVF. You? Do you test with HPTs or do you wait for the Beta b/w?

Anie and Boluwa: Good luck tomorrow! We'll be thinking of you!

J&C: Thanks for the update!! It sounds like things couldn't have gone better--YAY!!

Not much going on here. I think the u/s and b/w went okay this morning--they're thinking I might trigger on Saturday or Sunday. They want me to come in daily so they can keep a close check on my E2 level. So...time will tell! I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later---I want to get this party started!!

Talk to you all again soon!

Hey ladies...well Im back from ER. It went very well! 18 eggs!!!!! I am very pleased with this number. Now I just have to wait til tomorrow with the fert report. I was hoping I could at least find out how the eggs looked today. Last cycle my eggs had a strange crater look to them, so they were hoping it was just that cycle and that I dont have poor egg quality. But it was too soon to tell what they looked like, I guess the have to be "stripped"???? Anyway, I am a little crampy, but it was pretty easy :D I think Im going to take a nap...I'll be on later to do personals! Thanks so much for all your support! I love you girls!!!!!!!

Neffi211 -Congrat on the 18 eggs good job, I sure all the eggs are good and they will fertilize nicely.

rlk1- Thanks for your support, hope everything work well with you too.

As for me I had acupuncture an hour before and after my transfer today. I was hoping to transfer 3 embryos, however, the first two embroys thaw was good so my DR. think we should just transfer only two. A little disappointed but, I have a feeling this time we going to get BCP. My blood test is in 9 days.

Hello ladies,

Neffi: Yeah, my DH is actually around, he is just pretty busy to take notice of what is going on. He knew I was planning on transfering this month he just didn't know the actual date. Since this is our 6th times, I feel bad putting him and the rest of my family through another FET and it turn out to be BFN. I would love to share good news of BFP with them this time around.

Good luck ladies and God bless.
