Hi
I'm new to this and this is my first ever posting so please bear with me!
I am 43 (44 in Feb) and currently with London Womens Clinic on 2nd IUI cycle using donor sperm (single woman no partner, time running out and panicking). Have been driving myself crazy trying to make sure I'm with the best clinic for IVF by looking at HFEA website and live birth stats. for all the London clinics.
Does anyone know how you choose the best clinic? I'm conscious that it is a long shot given my age, but that makes it all the more important that I choose the right place with good over 40 results.
Anyway, sorry, but I am in such a state over all this and really need some advice.
Thanks

hi daisy
i joined this sight back in nov. and everyone is so helpful.
i was 43 last month and like yourself feel time is slipping
away, i had 3 ici's treatments with the LWC and then
changed to the lister hospital.
Unfortunately when u look at the HFEA site and stats they
do not give stats for women over 40 so its very difficult
to assess. At the lister they can input age details etc
on their comp. and come up with their stats. and i would
have thought some of the larger clinics are the same
(ARGC) so might be worth giving them a call.
hope this helps

I haven't really got any helpful advice for you but would just like to welcome you to the site and wish you lots of luck with your treatment. We have all had our trials and tribulations over the years and can offer you lots of support and help during your treatment. I hope you get the advice you need.
I can't recommend ARGC highly enough. I wouldn't go anywhere else. PG with twins (due after I turn 40) after 3 ICSE treatments & 2 pg losses. No one is as thorough or cutting edge as they are.
Just realised what ARGC means. Do they have particular expertise with over 43s? Considering changing from LWC cos not happy with their treatment. Can't choose between ARGC, Lister and London Fertility Centre! There comes a point when you just have to choose and get on with it I suppose. I think I'm so confused I'm finding it very hard to think clearly. To be honest, one could go on getting consultations from all the clinics and just end up completely baffled. I guess I'm finding it difficult to face up to the truth of how low a chance of pg I have with my own eggs so I want my IVF chance to be the best I can get.
Anyway, I am so relieved to find a space where I can express all these feelings. I just wasn't prepared for how overwhelming my emotions would be, so I am really grateful for the support.
u can spend all your time going round in circles wondering if u are
at the best clinic and end up getting in a state.
the 3 clinics, lister, london fertility centre and ARGC are all top
hospitals in this field.
A lots of girls on this site have spoken very highly of the ARGC.
Good luck
