I wanted to tell all of you my story in the hopes that it helps even one of you.
As you can see from my signature below, we have been trying for 5 yrs, went through 5 IUI's, 3 IVF's the combination of which resulted in 2 chemical pregnancies and 1 miscarriage. Diagnosed as unexplained fertility. As with many of you we have been through the ringer. We decided to try IVF one more time and when I went for the blood work, (which has been done before) something popped up as an issue with my thyroid. To make a long story short, we postponed the IVF, I went to the endocrinologist and they diagnosed me with Grave's Disease (hyperthyroid) and I started taking pills in November to address the issue. Skip to January, working, traveling, eating, drinking, recreational sex...and holy cow...I got pregnant. We've been scared that this isn't real based on our experience but saw a nice strong heartbeat at 9 weeks. I am convinced that there were underlying problems with my thyroid all along and that when it started to get regulated my body gave a sigh of relief and did it's thing. We are still cautiously optimistic because of our history but every day it gets better. So, I encourage any of you to get a full thyroid panel done and have an expert review it to see of that's impacting your ability to have your dream come true. We are, quite frankly, in shock because we had all but given up, but here we are with exactly what we've gone through emotional and physical agony to get. I'll keep you posted if things changed. Though I haven't actively participated much on this board, I visit it often and the information and the people here have made my life better. Thank you for that and God Bless you in your journey.
