Cycle buddies in March/April anyone?

Post by angram »

IrishHope - Yep, I'm determined and definitely plan to keep a truckin'...I'm confident this is going to work :D I love hearing success stories, so that is awesome about your sisters.

When you've gone to acupuncture, have they hooked the needles up to electricity (little jumper cables)? I just started this week and that's what they did and just wondering if others have had the same.

Yeah my family is unique for sure - each had success naturally, iui, and ivf...

No...I went to one acupuncturist who just made me feel bad - did alot of "hmmm - hmmm and made me ask what the hmmm was about?" and she'd just say "stagnation" - she made me feel terrible...so I am not w/ a new guy and he does less trying to "stimulate" my blood flow and more relaxation - I plan to ask him about that for cycle #2 though - but no I've never been hooked to "jumper cable" type things during acupuncture...

I'm on my way now to my acupuncture appt, so I'll let you know how it goes and if they give me more info on the whole jumper cable thing.

 have a good session! Please do - the fact we are referring to putting "jumper cables" on our bodies has me oddly laughing...

TGIF!!

I received a call from the lab today saying that our 4th embie (we transferred 3 embies and had 1 left) made it to blastocyst, so they froze it today. I'm excited as that gives me hope that the 3 transferred embies (or some of them) are sticking and doing well also.

Anyone ER or ET this weekend? If so, good luck!!

IrishHope / angram / DrJen - Man, I don't have endo. but I'm keeping all 3 of you in my prayers. It seems to just add more to the issue. I haven't done acupuncture, but everyone else seems to love it. I just can't imagine adding more needles to the process....but it seems to be relaxing. I'll stick with my massages. :D

Anie - I'm so sorry on the BFN. I'm glad you're looking ahead to your next cycle. Take time to refresh between now and then. (((hugs)))

Hi all!

Done with the exam--woo-hoo!

Bolowa: How did it go today? Today was your FET, right? We've been thinking of you!

Esperanza: Glad to hear that your FET won't be post-poned. I'm on spring break too now (have next week off)--I think that'll help our stress levels go down on our treatment days!!

DrJen: How's your mother doing? Is she feeling any better?

Neffi: How'd your little eggs do? I'm hoping for a great fert report from you!!

Suzhan: Are you still here? How are you feeling? I hope you've been spared the morning sickness!

Ann D: How's the 2WW treating you? When is your Beta test--pretty soon, right?

Angram: Hey, less shots is not too shabby!! I can't wait to hear how your u/s goes on Monday--I bet you'll have lots of plump follicles!! Okay, maybe plump isn't the best word--lots of GROWING follicles!!

IrishHope: Good luck with your FET. It sounds like you have good quality embryos waiting for you. YAYYY!!

Anie: You sound like such a strong woman. I'm glad that you have Plan B prepared. Your BFP will just be post-poned by 2 months!

J&C: Great news about your cryopreserved embryo!! I think that bodes really well for the embryos that were transferred!! YAYYY!!!

As for me, I have to go back tomorrow for another u/s and b/w. ARGH!! That will be day 13 of stimming for me. The "good" news is that they think I might trigger tomorrow night (please, please, please!!). I'll keep you posted!

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Well Ladies

I didnt receive the greatest news today! Of our 18 eggs, 15 were mature but only 8 fertilized. I am very dissapointed! On top of that, my eggs looked the same as last time, a weird crater/dented look to them. The embryologist has no idea what it is, she has never seen it before, she even brought in another embyologist last cycle to look at them...so they still havent said I have poor egg quality, but its looking like that. HAs anyone ever heard of anything like this? I pray that my 8 embies grow! Last cycle we had 11 fert. but by day 5 only 2 had made it to blast. I have a feeling they will transfer on day 3 this time...maybe being inside will give them a better chance. Im feeling blue right now! I need to keep a positive outlook, but what if this never happens for me! I am soooooo heartbroken! But I need everyone to pray that my embies do well! I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen and most of them will stop growing! But I only need one right??? Sorry, Im not in the mood to do personals! Hope everyone had a great day! I will hear from the RE with their progress tomorrow!

Neffi: You've always been there for me, so I hope that now I can give you some comfort. I can imagine that 8 fertilizing, out of 18 eggs, is disappointing, but....YOU STILL HAVE 8 EMBRYOS!!!! Don't lose sight of that--I think that's a great number to have. I still think you have a GREAT shot at your BFP!! I know it's hard not to compare the cycles, but there's been some major changes that might improve your chances from last time (e.g. no Lupron this time, maybe a day-three transfer this time, etc). Try to keep the PMA. Your little embryos will be fighters!!

You only need ONE!

Post by DrJen »

Neffi-you only need one embryo for a baby! 8 fertilized is a good #. My understanding is that alot of women's embryos do not make it to blast. Having 2 blastocysts at day 5 is great from your last cycle! Please don't let this get you down. I am in between patients right now and have been checking for your post today. I am praying for you and your embies :)

I had some upsetting news today. My nurse called me and told me she is leaving to take a research position. She has been so encouraging and so kind thru everything. I was nearly in tears when I got off the phone.

rlk1-Thank you for asking about my mom. She has just completed her fist session of IVIG tx. She goes 4x/mo. Please keep her in your prayers. We are hoping and praying this gives her some relief. It is still too early to tell after only one session.

Talk to you all later--back to work.

Neffi - please please, hang in there....as e1 has said, it only takes one. For my successful cycle, I only had 3 embies and I've seen lots of bfp's from ladies with only 1-2 embies. 8 is actually a very good number.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you and hope your little ones will be coming home safely to you soon.

Hang in there!

rlk - thanks for asking, I'm doing fine. No ms yet, it's still early for that (usually starts after week 6, which is another week for me.) I have my first scan on 3/24 and in the meantime I'm on the progesterone suppositories, icky, but not too bad. Even though it was natural, they still want me to use them just to be sure I don't have a low progesterone level.

I'm still lurking from time to time to make sure you all are doing well! I'm hoping for lots more bfp's from this board!

Cycle buddies in March/April anyone?

Post by angram »

Good morning ladies,

IrishHope - Acupuncture went well yesterday and I fell asleep again. So I asked about the jumper cables and she said it's like having someone sitting there jiggling each of the needles. The body sees it as a foreign object and sends white/red blood cells to that location, which is a good thing and what they want. They want more blood flow to that location and more oxygenated blood, or something like that. So it was all good.

J&C - That is awesome news, congrats on the frozen blast! Also, I really hate needles (DH does all the injections) and the acupuncture needles are like little hairs..don't hurt at all. But I completely understand what you're saying, I'll never want to see another needle after all of this.

rlk1 - I hope you get to trigger today, let us know.

Neffi - PMA girl, this is going to work!! Let us know if they transfer today.

DrJen - Sorry to hear about your nurse, I hope they have another one that is just as kind and helpful for you.

Nothing new for me, just waiting for the b/w and u/w on Monday. Hope everyone has a great weekend and good luck to those waiting, stimming, E/R'ing, E/T'ing, and 2 ww'ing..our BFP's are right around the corner :D

Guess what?!? I trigger tonight!!! I'm so thrilled that I made it this far. Despite my attempts for a PMA, I was worried that I'd end up with another cancelled cycle! I'm supposed to tigger tonight at 11PM for a 11AM retrieval on Monday. I'm kind of nervous--this will be my first ever intramuscular shot. Surprisingly, my DH doesn't seem too nervous/concerned about giving me the shot. We'll see how confident he is once it gets time to do it!

Anyway, sorry to make this post all about me! I was just so excited and you guys have been so supportive and talking me through each step---so I thought I'd let you know!

Have a nice weekend!

Rlk1-- YAY for the trigger! I knew you would make it! Dont be nervous! ER is pretty easy. It will be over before you know it. I dont know about the IM shot though. I have only had sub cutaneous shots. So how many follies do you have? What did they measure today? Are you planning a 3 or 5 day transfer?

Ang-- good luck at your bw and u/s Monday!

As for me...Im feeling better today! RE called at around 11am to say all 8 embies divded as they should! So far we havent lost any! They plan on a day 5 transfer tuesday. Please pray that all my embies do well and make it to blast. I had a couple last cycle that made it to blast on day 6, those are the ones we have frozen! Im praying that these embies cooperate and divide how they should. Hopefully I will hear from the RE again tomorrow with an update.
