Hello!

Post by Mizuno »

Hi everyone I am new to this website. I just wanted to send an email to introduce myself. I am 31 years old and my husband and I have been going through the IUI / IVF process since Feb. 2007. In January of 2006 my husband was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and at that time we had to freeze his sperm before he began all of his treatments. In doing this we had 9 viles of sperm that would have to last us until we got preganant.

In Feb 2007 we tried our first IUI and it was unsuccessful. Due to the amount of sperm that we had to use our doctors recommended that we switch to IVF. In may of 2007 we had our first IVF I produced 15 eggs and 5 became embryos. We had a day three transfer. Took the test 2 weeks later and the results were negative. The doctors said that there is no reason why we should not have gotten preganant. In September 2007 we went through our 2nd IVF and we produced 15 eggs and 12 of them became embryos. I was able to do a day 5 transfer and they implanted 2 embryos. With this cycle they were also able to freeze 3 embryos. Took the test 2 weeks later, and had a negative test  . After this cycle we tranfered doctors for a different look on things.

Now lets fast forward to yesterday. I went in for my FET. Only one of my embryos survived, but I am very thankful for this considering all that the embryos go through!! My husband and I cried for the loss of the the other two, but are so proud of the fighter that was impanted yesterday. Just got a call from the doctor and she said that I shoud come in on Mrch 18th for the test. I am crossing my fingers that this little miracle will become apart of our family.

So many times thoughout this process you feel all alone. Glad to have found this site for support! :D

You'll find a lot of support on this website. IVF is a very difficult process to go through. The ladies on this website can offer you good advice, as well as the support that comes from a true understanding of what you are going through & feeling. Perseverence pays off. Best of luck on your little fighter embryo.

I'll say a prayer for you. It sounds like you have been on emotional roller coaster! I just finished IVF/ICSI and had pos. preg. test but HCG of only 16 that eventually dropped. I understand a corner of what you are going through, and my heart goes out to you. I pray that this embryo is the one! He/she is already a fighter...
