Hi Ladies,

Sorry to introduce myself, then disappear. We were away for part of the weekend and then spent the second half trying to get caught up.

First let me say:

rlk1: Woohooo!!!!! 20 eggs!!!!! That sounds amazing to me! I'll pray that each of them fertilize so that you have a huge reserve! How many are you planning on implanting? I'm glad that it was not bad for you and that you were able to take the day off of work and relax. Way to Go!

IrishHope: I'm so happy that you and DH did something special for yourselves like buying a truck! I love the freshness and the smell of new cars! And, I'm thinking of you and hoping that you and your DH are holding up with all of the waiting and keeping positive!

Neffi: I'm so sorry that your clinic hasn't called you yet. We all are on pins and needles waiting for any bit of info that I sure wish they would have more people available to call us!

DrJen: I wish I knew what it is like to work with a compassionate, intelligent nurse. Mine is a bit clueless, so I refer to her when speaking to my DH as Doofus, which is a play on her own name. I know the next nurse will probably not be able to replace your first one, but hopefully, you will be able to form a nice bond with whomever they assign to you.

J&C: I'm sure that the wait is excruciating, but hang in there, it is almost over! Can you do something special for yourself this week like have dinner with girlfriends or go for a massage? Maybe staying extra busy will help with some of your nerves. I know that I popped into a yoga class series and it has really helped me to relax more.

As for me, I go tomorrow for my day 6 bloodwork/us. On day two, I had about 20 follies on each ovary. Then on day 4, there were more like 15. My E2 levels were just starting to climb, but were only just over 75, so I'm hoping that they continue to rise. I've had trouble in the past with producing too many antral follies which then never amount to many viable eggs, so I am praying that I will be able to make some nice big ones since i am now on the injections. My mood has been pretty good. Only on day 2 of injections did I start crying at night and made my hubby hold me. I think he feels so badly for having to give me all of these shots that while I was crying, he offered to get me a new Coach purse. Hmmmm.. Maybe I should cry more often!

I'm praying for each of you and hoping that our Easter Eggs this year come in the form of Babies!

Baby Dust to you all!!!

Well Ladies--

I dont have great news....only a couple embies are going to make it again...a couple is better than none, and I dont know what qrade they will be. I am upset....I think we have an egg problem also! anyway....atleast we have some to transfer. Just wondering for the ladies that are pregnant....what grade embies did you have? Were they great ones? I am feeling down today, but it could be worse, I could have none! Also I had a dreadful night last night....at 3am I woke up with extreme pain in my right ovary area. I thought it was really bad gas...tried to go to the bathroom.....nothing. It was so bad I couldnt sleep..so at 7:30 I called the RE...they brought me in for an ultrasound. They think I had a follicle rupture! It was really bad...I was so nervous it would impact my transfer tomorrow...but they didnt seem to be too worried at all....they said the worst pain is 4-6 hours...and I do feel better now, but still some pain. They said that after ER the follies fill with fluid and can break! So of course it had to happen to me....anyway, Im ok, and the transfer is still on and thats all the matters. I go in at 7:30 am tomorrow, so hopefully 2 embies have made it to blast...thats what Im hoping for!

Hope everyone else had a better day! It always could be worse I guess!

Rlk1-- Congrats 20 eggs..I hope they are all mature and fertilize! Im so happy for you!

rlk1 - 20 eggs, that is great news!

elisabethski73 - Good luck on your b/w and u/s tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed that you make nice big viable eggs.

Neffi - I'm sorry to hear only a couple embies are going to make it, but like everyone says..it only takes one!! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow morning and pray that these little one's stick!

As for me, I did not receive great news today. It appears I only have 7 follicles and one is trying to take the lead. ER really wanted to give me more meds, but the study won't allow them to go over a certain amount. I go back Thursday for b/w and u/s and if the large one is even further ahead they will need to cancel this cycle. I'm trying to keep the PMA, but it's just not working today... I'll let you all know how it goes later this week.

angram - hang in there! so much happens overnight w/ the follies...I believe you will get good news!!

neffi211 - sorry to hear about your pain/rupture! Glad RE is not overly concerned about it long term though! Hang in there...as for embryo quality I truly am confused by it so don't put too much stock in what quality they are...I had 2 of the highest graded/8 cell and 9 cell - to where the embryologist inferred we had a "slam dunk" and I got a BFN...my sister had 2 6 cell and were told "not great quality" and BAMMO twins! just my opinion but try not to worry too much about it but see what your RE has to say...I plan to grill my RE hard on this issue when we meet on 3/26 to discuss our failed cycle/FET...Hang in there - sending good vibes your way!

Hi all!

I have to comment about all this talk concerning sub-Q shots—whether women do them on their own or if their DH does them. I’ve been doing all the sub-Q shots myself, but in no way, shape, or form am I brave for that!! In fact, the first time I had to do it, I poked myself in the belly with the follistim pen and started LAUGHING (with the needle still in my belly, mind you!). I was so nervous, that I started laughing!!! Then, after I administered the shot, I almost passed out—my DH had to carry me to the couch!! Obviously, it’s gotten tremendously easier, but I thought you guys might laugh (at me or with me!).

J&C: Less than a week to go!! How are you holding up? I can imagine that these are the longest two weeks EVER!! Hang in there—it’s our turn!!

IrishHope: New car?!? Nice, nice!! Have you and your DH been fighting over who gets to drive it?

Elizabethski: How did your u/s go today? I hope all is well! I hear you about the emotions running high. I’ve been pretty teary myself. But, hey, getting a new purse out of it aint too shabby!!

Neffi: What a nightmare about the cyst!! Are you feeling okay now? Were they able to give you anything to reduce the pain? Ugh. As if we don’t go through enough. I’m thinking of you today—because it’s your transfer day!! Fill us in, when you’re able. I agree with what’s been said by the other girls. I don’t know how much it matters concerning what stage the embryos are at transfer. Like IrishHope said, sometimes “great” embryos get transferred and end up in a BFN, while other times “poor” quality embryos get transferred and end up in a BFP. You are a trooper and so are your embryos—everything will end up the way it’s supposed to!! I mean, we ARE going to have those December babies, right?!?

Angram: I know how upsetting it is not to have the u/s go well. But…it’s early in the cycle and things can change. For my cycle, at one u/s they’d say things are going well, at the next u/s they’d say the cycle isn’t progressing the way it’s supposed to. I swear their opinion changed on a daily basis. Didn’t you have cyst in the beginning of your cycle? Could that be the over-achiever? If so, maybe it doesn’t matter that it’s growing faster than the rest. Try to hang in there! Keep us posted!

Well, still no news on the fertilization report. I’m wondering if that’s a bad sign? I mean, don’t these nurses know that we should get a call ASAP. I’m almost tempted to drive to the clinic and just ask the embryologists. Okay, fine, perhaps that isn’t the greatest idea…

Hi Neffi.

Sorry to hear only few could make it but you know it only takes 1.

When had my transfer back in November, they transfered 2 top grade quality and the result was BFN so even the best sometimes don't implant.

Stay positive and you'll see you will have a BFP :)

Rlk: 20eggs it great! hope everything goes well.

My luv to all.

Hello Ladies,

I am sorry I've been away for a while.

Neffi: Sorry, it just two that makes it, but like everyone says it only takes one embroy to make a baby, and that is what going to happen.

rik1: I am so happy about your eggs...20 huh... good job. When are you transferring?
Thanks for asking about me, I transferred last week Thursday and everything went well, better than the last 5 transfer have had. I did acupuncture before and after the transfer. It took my RE about 5 minutes to transfer my embroies. I am so happy about your eggs..20 huh.. good job. When are you transferring?

I just wanted to comment on the progesterone shots:
I have been giving myself the shot for awhile now, and one thing I notice is the needle sizes, when I was using the 21G1 1/2 needles, I could sit down. However, they change the needle size to 22G1 1/2, which helps a lot, it is so much easier, and it hurt less, I can't even feel it.
Maybe, you can ask your nurse or RE if you can use a lower gauge of needle for the shot.

Boluwa-- what grade and how many embies did you transfer?

Anie and Irishhope-- thanks for the support...I know it only takes one..but my RE makes it seem like my blasts are awful. I guess we'll see.

Rlk1--thanks for the kind thoughts. I know I need to keep a pma. We are going to have December babies! I cant wait to hear your fert report!

Well my transfer went well. We transfered 3. 2 grade A blasts ( which is the lowest grade) and a morula...which the RE said was just about a blast. There were 3 others they were going to culture...if they make it to blast by tomorrow they will freeze them. SO even though the quality of the embies wasnt great, I still have hope. I had the best blast I could have had last cycle and got a BFN....so who knows. Right now Im on bedrest...my mom is here taking care of me and my dogs (Layla and Penelope) and cooking for me! :D oh and this website sucks....what is up, it is sooooooooooo slow!

Neffi211 - hang in there...I truly don't believe that the quality matters much...maybe cuz I had 2 of the highest and high cell #'s and still got a BFN...I see people w/ lesser quality get BFP all the time so you have just a good a shot !! Gooood luck!

Hi Neffi,

We transfer 2 blastocyst, one was 4AB, and the other one was 5BC. I am not really sure I understand the whole grading thing. I just go along with my RE saying they are okay and pray for them to attach and grow.

Hi all--

Anie: It's so good to hear from you! Thanks for your encouragement!

Neffi: I'm glad the transfer went well and that you're home resting with your little ones!! YOU'RE PUPO!!! YAY!!! How long do you need to be on bed rest for? Also, a little off the subject, I'm so jealous that you have 2 dogs!! DH and I have been talking about getting a dog for years, but haven't gotten off our butts to make it happen (really, we're just lazy and don't want to do the 6am walks in the rain  ).

Ann D. and Esperanza: Good luck tomorrow!! Your FET is tomorrow, right? We’ll all be thinking of you!

Boluwa: Glad to hear that your FET went well! That’s great! When is your Beta test? Thanks for the tips on the PIO shot. So far it’s been pretty painful (not the shot part but the soreness the next day). Do you think switching needles will help that part?

Well, my discharge papers yesterday said I'd get a call from my nurse today between 12pm and 3pm about the fertilization. At 3:45pm, after NO call, I couldn't stand it anymore and called my nurse. I left a message asking if no call meant bad news...

I got a call 10 minutes later and she said of my 20 eggs that all 20 were mature and that 18 had fertilized. I'm so relieved, but I know better than to get too excited. So much can change in these next few days. But for now...I'll think positive!

How are the rest of you girls? Anything new?

Hi all,

rik1: I meant I couldn't sit on my buns when I was using the bigger needles. After we change the needle size, I felt so much better. So, I think changing the needle size even by a little bit can help you
I am happy to read that most of the eggs fertilized.
Everything is going to be okay, try not to worry too much. Good luck with your transfer.

WOW Rlk1--- What and awesome fert report! Thats wonderful! I will pray that those embies keep growing! Im so happy for you! Oh and if you're planning on having a baby, dont get a dog! It would be double trouble! Dh and I specifically planned for the dogs to be out of the puupy stage when a baby would come! I dont know what I would have done with a baby and the puppies! They are alot of work! And about the walks.....we got an invisible fence...so they just run like crazy outside everyday...Im also to lazy for daily walks...plus I have to leave for work at 6:45am! Oh and I am on bed rest today and tomorrow. My RE rec 24 hrs....but they say...you dont ever want to look back and say WHAT IF??

Boluwa-- See everyone uses different ways to grade embies....so who knows.

Esperanza-- WHere are you? FET IS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK!
