Cycle buddies in March/April anyone?

Post by angram »

Rlk1 - Fert report is awesome, keeping my fingers crossed all 18 do well and they're ready to stick in the transfer! I agree with Neffi, this is not the time for a new dog, especially a puppy. I have a great dog, but she's 12 years old and finally trained  BTW, your shot story was cracking me up, I can picture you with the needle in your belly just laughing.. You asked if my dominant follicle was the original cyst and it is not, it's actually on the other ovary.

Neffi - I'm happy to hear the ET went well and that you got to transfer 3. That's so sweet that your mom is there to help you out, okay I really mean that's awesome she's there to cook :D

Elizabethski - How'd the b/w and u/s go today, hope all was well.

IrishHope/Anie/J&C/boluwa - Just checking in with you all to say hello, hope the wait is somewhat passing by quickly for you all.

Nothing really new with me, just waiting for my next b/w and u/s on Thursday. Had another acupuncture treatment today and told her I was completely stressed. She added a few extra points to help with the stress and anxiety, so hopefully it will help me calm down. I'm doing my best to keep the PMA, but I've been a wreck since my appt yesterday...damn emotions and meds :)

Hi everyone!!!

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting. So many posts, it's getting difficult to keep up. My FET is tomorrow!! My RE wants to transfer 4. I go to the acupuncturist one more time before the transfer. I really feel these sessions are helping me relax.

I heard somewhere that pineapple is suppose to help with implantation. Anyone have thoughts on this??

RLK... Congratulations on the fertilization report. Wow!! 18 fertilized!! How many are you going to transfer??

Neffi... Good luck on your embies. Rlk is right... it only takes one!! When is your PT?

Well, after tomorrow it will be awhile for me to keep up with the posts. I'm going to be super good about taking bed rest seriously.

Good luck everyone with your IVF adventures!!!

Hey there everyone! I've had a busy day...had b/w/us this am and then immediately had to work with my manager all day. But, all is good as I got some nice news this am which placed me in a good mood for the day. I have 12 follicles on the right side with the largest one being 9.5mm and 10 follicles on the left side with the largest one being 8.8. My E2 is now 238 and although my lining is a bit on the thin side (4.9mm) it has a the three levels which they look for. So, they want me to continue to stim and I go back in on Thursday am for more tests. They are now guestimating that I will have a trigger either on Sat or Sunday.

Suzhan: With Easter being this weekend, the 31st will be here before you know it! It stinks that your clinic isn't available to test you on Saturdays! I'm hoping the HPT will give you a definite BFP!!! Lots of Baby dust to you!

Rlk: 18 fertilizing! Now that was worth the wait!! I"m so happy that you got such fantastic news! Congrats! How many will you transfer? and, when are they planning on doing the transfer?

Neffi: Transfering 3 is amazing! Here's to them sticking!! Well, should I say here's to one or two sticking! Triplets would be a bit overwhelming! Which makes me wonder, have any of you ladies discussed the possiblities of multiples?? What are you all thinking?

Angram: Thanks for the support! I hope our apts on Thursday continue to go really well and that your stress level drops down. Try some ice cream!

And for the rest of you who are in the wait, here's to hoping that time really flies for you and we all end up with BFP's! Wouldn't that be great if we all had an early Christmas present!

Love to All!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the long post - I haven't posted for a couple of days.

I remember reading all the posts on earlier boards about how horrible the 2ww is, and they were right! THIS IS HORRIBLE!!! Yesterday, I was totally depressed, because my body felt "normal" and I was certain that we weren't pregnant. Today I've talked to several friends (1 of those has a beautiful daughter from IVF) and all of them said they didn't feel pregnant this early on.

I've seen other posts where people either just "knew" they were pregnant or they had m/s, and I've had neither. Anyway, I'm feeling better today with at least a little PMA. My test is on Sunday.

IrishHope - Good for you on buying the truck!! If we're not successful with the whole IVF process (we're planning on trying a couple more times if this cycle doesn't take), DH and I have already decided that we're going to Hawaii to celebrate.

Rlk - 20 eggs is GREAT and SUPER GREAT on 18 embies - WOW - you're the definite overachiever. :D Thanks for asking about my 2ww....some days I'm keeping the PMA, and others it's just not there. Right now, I'm doing okay with PMA. [PIO shot description below]

elisabethski - We're planning to keep busy this weekend. DH made brunch reservations, then we're going shopping and to a movie. He's really good about planning "stuff" when needed. Sounds like your follies are doing great!! I've had several crying breakdowns during the shot process also, but my DH never offered me a Coach purse! You're a lucky girl!

Neffi - I'm so sorry about the embies and good grief on the follicle rupture - I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I'm praying that those embies get snuggled in for a nice long ride. Welcome to the 2ww! TOTALLY agree on the website too. I get so irritated when it's slow.

angram - We didn't have many follies either, but it was enough to end up with 4 strong embies. Hang in there!!! PMA!

PIO shot: I think I wrote this somewhere before, but just in case....I've had absolutely NO pain at all before, during or after the shot. I'm doing what someone else wrote on the board:

1. Ice the area for 20 minutes.
2. Do the shot
3. Massage the area for 1-2 minutes
4. Warm the area with a heating pad for 20 minutes.

Seriously - no pain at all.

Sticky baby dust to all!

Hello ladies--

Ann d-- my PT test is 3/31.

Elisabeth-- I was very excited to transfer three...I probably would have done more! I am very prepared for multiples! DH and I actually are hoping for twins. We have a financial budget for 2.....if it were triplets....we would figure something out. I my mind....3 are better than none!

J&C-- the 2ww is awful!!!! I had up and down days also! Are you going to POAS????

Neffi211/Elizabethski73 - I plan to ask for 3 to be put in this frozen cycle...Dh is a bit nervous but chances of triplets are slim especially w/ a frozen cycle...so I figure it's the same odds as 2 going in on a fresh cycle...have to see if my RE will buy into it...at this point I would rather triplets than another BFN...everyone around us is now on #2 and I just am so beyond ready to be a Mom...I'm going aggressive...but I am 34 so we want a family so time is moving and IVF can take a while so I say "stack the deck" in my favor!

Hi! I've been reading the posts lately, but haven't had much to add other than good luck to all of you. It's exciting that so many are moving forward! I don't start Lupron until March 28, so I'm pretty behind you all. However, I was wondering about the 3 embryo transfers some of you have had and others are requesting. My RE will not transfer more than 2 embryos if you are under 35. I had 2 excellent blasts transferred last cycle and as you all know I got a BFN. What are some of your opinions as well as your RE's opinions on this matter? Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

DrJen - I start Lupron 3/29 (hopefully) so you are not behind me at all - but I'm doing a frozen cycle so hoping transfer is complete by 4/14...anyway my tactic w/ my RE is just that - that my fresh cycle i had 2 Grade A great embryos put in and BFN...my case will be a frozen cycle is less successful so 3 on a frozen is equivalent to 2 in a fresh and that I'm 34 and we don't have much insurance money so we need to be aggressive and get a BFP...I will explain that we are willing to accept triplets and financially can provide for them and handle it emotionally vs. a BFN...worth a shot!

Hello Ladies,

How is everyone feelling today.

DrJen- about transfering 3 embroys, my clinic will normal not transfer more than 2 fresh embroys if your under 35, no than 3 frozen. But, the last time I got BFP, I told them to transfer 5 embroys. I had tried 2x prior that that transfer that I didn't want to take any more chances. So, I told them take my remain frozen embroys at that time, I had 7 frozen, I told them to thraw all seven and transfer back the best 5.
We end up with twins, but we lost them after 5 months.
Now, my RE and DH are very nervous this time, that we only transfer 2 embroys. Even transfering 2 embroys makes me nervous, however, prefer taking the chance than to end up with BFN.
One thing I know is GOD will not give us something we cannot handle.

Well Ladies-- Bed rest is really getting old. I cant handle more than 2 days of this. I really feel for women that have to do this for long periods of time!

DrJen-- my RE usually only recommends two unless the quality isnt great than they will do three. I personally think multiples is better than none, but the thought behind it is the well being of the babies and the mother. Carrying triplets or more is very high risk!

Boluwa-- Im soo sorry to hear of the babies you lost at 5 months! That must have been so difficult! I hope this is your time!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Boluwa: I will definitely ask about changing the needle size. Thanks for the advice. Yes, I agree, I need to tone down the worrying. Ugh. If it were only that easy! I’m also sorry to hear about your twin loss. It sounds like you have a great attitude and won’t give up. I imagine the fact that you were able to get pregnant before bodes well for you concerning this FET!!

Neffi: How’s it going? 2 days into the 2WW—YAY!! Do you have things to distract you next week? Good advice about a dog. I suppose I should wait on that for the time being. But…they’re so cute!!!!

Angram: I hope all goes well tomorrow at your b/w and u/s. It will, it will, it will!!

Suzhan: Sunday’s your first u/s, right? How exciting! You’ll have to keep us posted!

Ann D. and Esperanza: How did it go today? I hope everything went smoothly and that you’re now PUPO!!! Ann D., I have heard that pineapple might help with implantation, but I haven’t been eating it. Have you? Have any of you girls? I guess it wouldn’t hurt, right?

Elizabethski: Glad to hear that your stimming is going so well! Wow, triggering on Saturday or Sunday—that’s so soon!! How exciting! Let us know how things go tomorrow!

J&C: I can only imagine how frustrating and LONG the 2WW is. But…you’re almost done!!! You test Sunday, right? I’ve heard people “just knowing” that they’re pregnant as well, but I’d say just as many don’t. One of my best friends didn’t know she was pregnant until she was already three months along. Don’t ask, it’s a long story. Basically, the lab gave her a false negative. Can you believe it? Anyway, my point is, not “feeling” or “knowing” that you’re pregnant can be just as predictive of a BFP!! Oh, and thanks for the PIO shot tips. I’ve actually been doing all of that, but I’m still sore. I’m just a freak, I guess!!

IrishHope: Your logic makes sense to me! 3 beautiful embryos for your FET will do the trick!! How many do you have frozen?

DrJen: Your RE will refuse to transfer 3? I thought they were just allowed to make recommendations, not limit the number you transfer. Apparently, I’m pretty naïve. Do you think you’d like to transfer 3 this time?

As for me, my nurse called and said that my 18 embryos are fighters. They’re all cleaving (some better than others, of course). They’re aiming to do a day 5 transfer on Saturday, but they will check them in the morning in case they want me to come in tomorrow instead. DH and I are thinking of transferring 2 (if possible!), what do you guys think? My clinic likes to push the one embryo transfer, but I can’t imagine the odds are good with just one.

Okay, sorry for the novel. I tend to write way more than is necessary! Talk to you all tomorrow!

rlk1 - love your posts...very detailed! Wow congrats on the strong embies! Good luck whether it's tomorrow or Saturday w/ some 5 days!
you asked so I'll answer LOL...as far as # to transfer it depends on what you and DH can take on /want / are comfortable with...you are young...but I figure we go thru all this I like the odds to be more in my favor so I'm an advocate of 2 if this is your first child...just my opinion!
The sooner I can be changing diapers instead of going for bloodwork the happier I will be so bring on multiples...by that i mean 2...I'm not a circus freak that wants like 6 babies at once... have a good night all...off to my therapy...love IVF!

Rlk1-- Well Im glad you're embies are fighters! They will all do great and you'll have tons of frosties! As for the # of embies....I personally would NEVER do just one....in fact my RE will NOT do just one in the shared risk program. But it does depend on what your and DH are ready for....I am ready for triplets! So I would actually be comfortable transferring 4...but RE only did three. Its something you need to sit down and discuss....financially and mentally! :D About the PINEAPPLE!!!.....I have heard this over and over again....it did it for IVF #1 and BFN.....I also have done it this cycle. I mentioned it to RE...he said it is just a myth, but it cant hurt anything! Plus I love fresh Pineapple!!! I say what the HELL it cant HURT anything! WHy not?? I had a very good day today....PMA was good. I had some time with my babies today....I might sound like a freak.....but I spent 30 minutes in quiet doing deep breathing and talking to my babies :D I am not a weirdo....I swear...it actually was very relaxing.....they say deep breathing is great to relax! Okay well.....Oh I forgot....RE called today to say I had one fighter make it to blast at day 6 so they froze it with the other two I have on ice! :D Ok well back to work for me tomorrow....I am still going to tak eit as easy as possible....have a good Thursday!
