Ang- congrats! That is awesome! Even if you only have three....thats better than a canceled cycle. There is a woman on the dec/jan thread...andnichole, she has a wonderful story. Only three follies made it, they wanted to cancel her cycle, but she begged to just do it with the three. They retreived 3 eggs, all fertilized and she is pregnant with twins! Anything is possible!

Suzhan-- thanks for checking in....my PMA depends onthe hour!

Rlk1-- its normal to be sore. I was more sore this time that last. It should only last a couple days! So I guess your transfer is coming up! Its easy except the full bladder, man that sucks! Did you get a call about your embies today?

As for me Im 2dt5dt! And already Im so up and down...so times Im happy others Im already planning for the next cycle! Its so hard! the 2ww sucks!

Angram: YAYYYY!!! What a relief. I have no doubt those other follies will catch up!! Keep us posted!

Suzhan: Thanks so much for the info. Good to know there are others that are popping all these pills.

Neffi: Stay strong! Wow, already 7dpo!! Do you think you'll POAS this weekend--or is that too soon?

So...I did get a call this morning. My little guys aren't doing as well as they initially were. But...the nurse said there should be "a couple" that are suitable for transfer on Saturday (which, BTW, I still don't have a transfer time :? ). What's a couple--2,3,4?!? Anyway, I'm going with the it-only-takes-one motto. Also, I'm sure this is not a good sign, I had some spotting today. I'm hoping that it's just residual blood from the ER and not my lining that's shedding (sorry if that's TMI). Why can't anything be simple in this process?!? Why oh why?!?

Happy Thursday yall!

Angram- Seriously, only 1 RE in Austin??? That's wild...there are atleast 3 here in SA, I just picked one based on location. Maybe their sucess rates were so good they put all the others out of business! Good luck with ER!

lwalker- I am on BCP now too, have u/s for 3/31 and scheduled to start on 4/1. I just got my big box of meds...not that I really know what is what yet! All I know is the needles labeled "for IM" are freakin' huge...yikes!!

DrJen- Are you in healthcare? I am a dentist, luckily where I work I get PTO, so I have been saving it up. You know what they say, 3rd times a charm!

rlk1- It only takes one to make a baby! Keep PMA!

Baby dust to all!
God Bless-

Chelly-- thats so funny that you are a dentist! Dr Jen is a dentist also, and I am a hygienist! Small world....Dr Jenand I talk about work sometimes....to relieve stress, as you know is a constant when working in healthcare! Not to mention some of my days are a little crazy...I work at a pediatric office :D :D

Rlk1-- its like the same thing that happened to me! the first day they were doing grat and then BAM! I only had a couple! Well like everyone says...it only takes one! But you want them all to do well....I know the feeling, plus you want those frosties!!!! I hope your couple is 4! Did they tell you cell numbers? Well its will still work out for both ofus! I know it! PMA PMA PMA. Oh and i think spotting is probably normal still but I would ask the doctor.

Well I am off tomorrow! YAY! Happy Good Friday to everyone!

Chelly-Yes, I'm a dentist too! I used all of my sick time for my first IVF cycle, so I'm working extra to build up what we call comp time. I have to travel over 2hrs each way to St Louis for all appts, so I miss alot of work. There are no REs in my immediate area. I don't want to use all my vacation time in case I need it for another cycle, or anything else! Hopefully this next cycle will be the BFP we've been hoping and praying for! The meds seem overwhelming at first. It's nothing like giving the injections we're used to! But, you'll get used to them quickly. Last cycle I even had to give myself Lupron and Follistem injections in the bathroom of a gas station :!: We had to travel one evening to stay with my father-in-law outside St Louis b/c we were trying to get ahead of one of the many ice storms we had in February. What we won't do :)

Hey Girlies - My PMA is up again today, really not much new here. I told a friend today that I feel like a sitting duck - the embies have either attached and are doing well, or I'm waiting around (and doing these lovely PIO shots and suppositories  ) for nothing. What else can a girl do? LOL.

My beta is on Sunday, and I've decided to POAS Saturday morning. I just can't help myself!! :D I actually bought a HPT tonight, so it's in the house.

rlk - I always refer to you as the "young one" too when I tell DH what is going on on the board. I felt pretty sore after the E/R for a good 2 days and still tender several days after that. I was super cautious, and somewhat tender, after the E/T too. I decided that my uterus just really isn't very happy with me since we started this whole process. Poor thing has been poked and prodded on enough in the past several months.

I'm not on estrace, but I have been on baby aspiring for quite awhile. My RE says to take baby aspirin until your second pregnant u/s.

angram - Grow follies grow!!!! We ended up stimming for 4 extra days, and we thought RE would turn it into an IUI attempt. We ended up with more follies that we ever thought. We retrieved 10 eggs, 8 were mature and 4 fertilized. I bet you end up with more eggs than you think. I definitely remember how that felt. I'll be praying for your follies.

Thanks Neffi - On Saturday, I'll be 10dpt. The information from my RE said that the baby aspirin supposedly helps with implantation and then helps it stay "stuck".

We're hoping for the best too! :D

rlk1 - I hope your embies have BIG boxing gloves on and are fighters! Good luck tomorrow with your transfer! Another step closer to a BFP!

Wow you guys are all dentists - I feel left out

J&C - I hope you see two fat lines girlie! Keep us posted...having a HPT in the house is torture...hahaha! Good luck!

I am definately asking my RE about baby aspirin this FET cycle - the nurse/embryologist hinted that our cycle was near "perfect" on paper so it leaves me with IMPLANTATION fear...

Anyone even care about Easter this year? I feel terrible saying I don't but DH and I have declined all family invites and are spending the day together with our poooch!!! My sister has a 3 week old beautiful new baby girl and on all sides we are the only ones without children and I just can't muster up the smiling and faking this holiday!!

Cycle buddies in March/April anyone?

Post by angram »

Good morning ladies.

rlk1 - Good luck with your transfer, I'll be thinking about you.

J&C - Let us know how the test turns out, this is your time and I'm waiting to hear about your BFP!!

chelly - Yep, there's only one clinic in Austin, but they have 4 RE's in the practice. I'd have to drive to San Antonio if I didn't like this clinic, but they have great success rates and they've been really nice so far.

I cannot believe we have so many healthcare folks on the thread, that's great. Not my area of expertise, just a program manager for a very large corporation.

So I have a very personal question, for anyone willing to answer :) Just wondering if sex is uncomfortable for anyone else during the stimming phase? Sorry for the TMI, but just wondering if I'm out of the norm here. Starting to feel like I'm carrying a bag of grapefruits in my pants :D

Oh yeah, IrishHope..about the Easter thing. I pretty much feel the same as you, but my entire family is coming to our house for the weekend. The only children that'll be around though are my nephew (4yrs) and my youngest sister (3yrs - don't ask..yes I'm 36 and my Dad can't seem to stop breeding :) ), so hopefully it will just keep my mind off of the waiting game.

Hi all--

So...I think things might not end that well for me. I asked my nurse about the spotting and she said she thought it could still be from the ER. She said that at the ET (tomorrow at 2pm), they would check my lining before they transferred the embryo(s). But...since I've talked to her, I've had a tiny bit more spotting and cramps. I'm so upset. I don't even know what to do. I thought I'd wait a few more hours to see if there's been any change before I call my nurse again. I guess the worst case scenario is that they freeze my embryos tomorrow if I can't have a transfer. I know that wouldn't be the end of the world, but I was so pumped to do it now. Anyway, I'm feeling sad and scared. Sorry for no personals today.

rlk1 - I'm so sorry for what you're going through, but try to keep the PMA and see what happens tomorrow. I know it's easier said than done, but try your best not to worry yourself sick. Worst case is they have to freeze and you do a FET here shortly...much shorter process. You're in my prayers and I'm hoping for the best.

Hey Ladies!

Rlk1-- what is going on? Is it possible for this to be AF? I dont understand! What did the nurse say? Did she seem like there was a possibility that you wont be able to transfer? I am soooo sorry you are going through this! The highs and lows of this process are extreme! I am here for you! 2pm tomorrow will be here soon, and then you will have an answer! I and hoping and praying for the best for you!

Ang-- how are you? Well about the sex.....I didnt do it! I felt like a balloon! I thought it would be way to uncomfortable during stimming! DH is very understanding...although its been like 4 weeks now! I think hes satrting to freak out a little bit! My RE says no sex or orgasm for 4-5 days after ET....I have talked to others that say much longer. ANy thought??

Irishhope.....I'm sorry I missunderstood your question. There's me blabbing on and on about things you already know....sorry about that.
I'd love to hear what your RE says about freezing on day 5 and 6. All 4 of mine that we're hoping to use were frozen on day 6 and I still don't really understand why.

Ang...I think the rules about intercourse after ET must vary a lot. I have read so many different things. My RE says no sex until your 1st beta then no sex for the 1st trimester if you're pregnant. I've also heard that having an orgasm after ET can help implantation but my RE has never said anything about orgasms.

rlk.....sorry you're having a hard time. Has your RE definitely decided to freeze these embies and wait, could there still be a chance you'll do your transfer now??? I sure hope it works out.

I'm getting more excited now....only 2 weeks until our FET. I have been kinda MIA for a while, just reading all your posts but not posting many myself. I can't wait to start reading about some BFP's!!!!!!!!!!! I feel way more relaxed this time, since its much easier not stimming. I'm on lupron, baby aspirin and estrogen patches. Those patches are fine but I only had to use on at a time with the fresh cycle. This time I'm gradually increasing the number until I'm wearing 4 at once!!! Anyone else use the patches???? My husband laughed and roled his eyes when I told him. He's probably thinking..."yeah, that just what you need, more hormones!" Hmmmm, just wait til I throw in the PIO as well.

I'm still kind of worried a little about the number of embryos to transfer. My RE, who is VERY conservative usually...tries to encourage couples to transfer just one at a time actually advised me to transfer 3 blasts if 3 survive the thaw. Its that old catch 22 situation....i want to transfer as many as possible to maximise the chance of success but I don't want to jeapardize the pregnancy by ending up with multiples. I know twins would be less worrying but triplets!!?? I just don't know. Anyone have words of wisdom???
