RLK... I think you definitely made the right decision! Good luck on your 2ww!! I didn't ask my RE about doing an HPT. I'm not even sure what brand to use. As of today I'm leaning towards doing the HPT two days before my beta. Of course, that decision could change. My DH said he rather wait until my appt., but like I said, I will be at work and don't want to receive this type of important news (good or bad) while at work.

Nicaliw... you must be getting a little more excited about your FET coming up!! I was kind of mellow about it until a few days before. I feel a lot less stress about the FET since I kinda know what to expect as far as the actual transfer and the 2ww AND there's no stimming involved.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations! We're super anxious to hear the beta tomorrow. My RE's office called today and said "Can we move your appointment from 9:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. tomorrow", and I said "Well, yes you can!!!".

rlk - You DEFINITELY made the right choice. Don't doubt yourself and just enjoy the moment. :D

angram - Good luck with that trigger!! Can't wait to hear how many you transfer on Monday.

rlk1- Your news is also exciting, I am so glad you got to transfer, and like everyone says I definitely think you made the right decision. What was they reason for only wanted to transfer one anyways?

angram - Good luck with that trigger.

So, ladies I have an exciting news also, I too POAS tonite, and it is POSITIVE!!!!! :D :D We are so happy, I've been feeling strange for the past couple of days so I decided to cheat. I go in for my beta on Monday morning.

boluwa-Congratulations :!: We're 2 for 2 :) This is definitely a good sign for the rest of us!! Enjoy your weekend!

rlk-I agree with everyone. You made the right decision. I had the option of transferring 1 blast last cycle and chose to do 2. I plan to do 2 again as long as I have them! Congrats :) So happy you got to transfer and they were blasts!

angram-Good luck! How exciting! Enjoy your Easter guests and good luck Monday. I know everything will go great!

So much good news! Hope it rubs off on me.

I had my 2nd acupuncture appt today. This time I felt the needles much more than my first visit. Has this happened to anyone else? My acu said it is b/c my "chi" (spelling?) is so high. She said this is my energy and vitality, etc. Now if that chi would only help me get pregnant this cycle :!:

Happy Easter, Everyone!!

Nicaliw: YAY!! I'm glad to hear that your FET is on the same day as my Beta--makes me feel like it'll be a lucky day for both of us!!

Boluwa: Congrats!!! What great news!!! I'm so happy for you!! Have you told your family or are you going to wait until Monday? Oh, and thanks so much for the needle advice (for the PIO shot). I switched needle sizes and it's going sooooo much better!!!

J&C: Can't wait to hear the results of your Beta. What a wonderful Easter gift!!!

Angram: YAYYY!!! I'm so glad that things worked out and that you triggered last night!!! How did it go? I'll be thinking of you tomorrow--I know you'll do great!!

Neffi: Now you're my 2WW buddy (as opposed to my stimming buddy ). Try to keep up the PMA (sometimes easier said then done). You WILL get your BFP--because you had three little fighters transferred!!! Also, not "feeling" pregnant doesn't mean you're not--J&C said she didn't feel symptoms and she has a BFP!!

Ann D.: I know, it's a hard call about POAS. Maybe your DH will have a change of heart when it gets closer to your Beta!

DrJen: I did acupuncture last cycle and there were definitely times that I felt the needles more than others. I think that's normal!!

Thing here are good. I feel better about our decision for transferring 2 (especially after your encouragement). They only wanted us to transfer 1 because we had "2 of the highest quality embryos." They were telling us all about the bad things associated with multiples. In the end, I figured it doesn't really matter what the quality of the embryos are--some women transfer "great" embryos and get a BFN and others transfer "poor quality" embryos and get a BFP. So....we opted to transfer both of the little guys!!

I'm off for now (typing one-handed is tiring!!). So far we have such a lucky board: Suzhan, J&C, and Boluwa!!!! YAYYY!! Let's keep up this trend!

It's official - we're pregnant!! RE's office called and said that my beta is 84. Now that doesn't look like a very "good" # to me, but the nurse said that it doesn't matter what the # is. It matters that it increases in 2 days. So I'll have more b/w Tuesday morning.

This feels so surreal. After 5 years of crying, negative HPT, depression, anxiety, etc...I really don't know what to do with myself right now. I'm just going to try to enjoy the moment. After the b/w on Tuesday, they'll schedule an u/s 3 weeks out. I know I'll feel much better when we can see that everything attached in the right spot and possibly a heartbeat.

I'll have to figure out how to add one of those "tickers" to my signature later on. We're headed off to Easter lunch with my best friend and her family. We're not sharing with anyone else until after Tuesday's b/w. Thank God for this message board!!

boluwa - Congratulations on your BFP also!!!

Dr. Jen - I've never done acupuncture, but I know some people swear by it. I'm such a needle weenie that I can't even imagine adding more needles (even small ones) to this process. I'm praying it's working for you!!

Neffi - That 2ww is absolutely horrible....and the second week is the worst. I seriously didn't not, and still don't, feel anything. I had a breakdown in the middle of last week, and I felt better afterwards. Don't be afraid to let it all out. You'll feel better. :D (((HUGS))) I'll pray for PMA for you. Remember you're PUPO!!

Thanks J&C and Rlk1-- I know that the 2ww is torture! I cried this morning and feel a little better! Im just not sure why Im putting myself through this...I feel like I could adopt and have a beautiful baby without all this heartache! Then I remember that DH and I decided we would take the time to do this, then talk about adoption....I wish I were more patient!

J&C-- congrats on your beta! Ill be praying for your number to double. Enjoy yourself! YOU'RE PREGNANT!

Rlk1-- thats great that your embies were such good quality!

Boluwa and J&C.... Congratulations!!! :D :D :D :D What a great Easter gift for the two of you!!

DrJen... I did acupuncture, too. I definitely felt the needles after my first session. Sometimes it was a "pulling" feeling if that makes sense. Other times it almost hurt, but then went away. I'm hoping this really helped me this time around. Well, I know it has helped with the "stress out" factor. A couple of days before transfer, my acupuncturist put ear seeds in my ears. They're these tiny seeds stuck to bandage material. She said it would help with my anxiety right before the transfer. I think they worked! I was pretty calm and I got a good night sleep, which I didn't get the last time! I do feel better overall. Although this 2ww is getting a little more difficult each day.

Neffi... Hang in there!!! I don't think I'm going to be able to have a PMA every day until the 31st either. And I also agree with J&C about letting out the tears and then recollecting yourself. During my first IVF I had TEARS- major tears. Poor DH couldn't understand why, but just said everything was going to be okay. And you know what? Everything IS okay. Keep those positive thoughts going and keep busy. That usually helps me!

Thanks for the responses about acupuncture. That makes me feel better!

Neffi, ann d. and rlk--Hang in there! I know the 2ww is hard, especially that 2nd week. If you need to cry or scream, do it. I had a couple break downs my last cycle during the 2ww. One big cry and I acutually felt less stressed after I let it out. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

J&C-that's great news! Enjoy your Easter and your little miracle :)

I bought a book called "Nuturing Yourself Through IVF" and just started reading it last night. I kind of freaked out when I read about the woman who wrote it. It seems like my probs mirror hers. As you all know, my mom is suffering from a connective tissue disease which is also an immunological disease. The author had b/w done called an "Implantation Failure Panel." I went to the lab's website (millenova.com) to research it. I'm going to call my RE tomorrow and request this panel. Hopefully he will be ready and willing to comply. My mom is being treated at the same center I am. Her Dr said they are looking for genetic links. Wish me luck. Hopefully nothing will show up. I need it if only for peace of mind.

Have a Happy Easter :)

Oh my gosh, I'm SOOOOOO bored!! I have a new found respect for women who have to be on bed-rest for a few weeks--I'm a whiner about only 2 days of it!!!

DrJen: I'm sure your doctor will be willing to run that panel for you (especially if you think it'd help for peace of mind!). If he's not, maybe you can find someone who is. Either way, I have faith that it'll come back negative. This is a lucky board, right?!? Hang in there.

Neffi: Thanks for your encouragement about my embryos, although I don't have much confidence in these ratings. It's nice to hear that they looked good--but I don't think that'll be the deciding factor. The deciding factor will be our PMA, thoughts of DEC babies, and this lucky board!!!

Hello Ladies,

Thanks to everyone for the congratulation. We are so excited, but still nervous, since this is not our first HPT positive. This is actually our third one, but I think this time it really stick.
The last time we got pregnant, anytime I eat anything spicy I get really bad pain, not hot burn but serious cramps and after drinking orange juice the pains go away. This happen from the begging of the pregnancy, as a matter of fact the pain is what causes me to go and buy HPT at that time. Anyways, I thank God this time is different. I go in for beta in the morning.

rlk1: Hang in there; yeah I can imagine how boring it can be. I was also bored out of my mind when I was sitting at that hotel room for two days. I couldn't wait to get out. Yes, I told my DH about the transfer as soon as I got home, he wanted to make love, so I had to tell him that I transferred couple of days before then, he understood and now he so excited about the positive HPT that he doesn't even think about me not telling him.

DrJen: Did your acupuncturist tell you to not cold drink beverage or eat cold food? My acupuncturist told me to stay away from cold food and cold drink, she specifically asked me to not eat salad and ice cream during my 2ww period. I was just wandering if you got the same message.

Neffi: Please hang in there, don't give up, keep up with the PMA and keep yourself busy.

We went to church today and there was a production with amount 100 children singing and dancing and all I was thinking about is my kid should be one of these children; I couldn’t help but to cry. I don’t know if it is because of all the hormone that I am taking but I was very emotional today.

Anyways, Good Luck to everyone and Happy Easter.

Cycle buddies in March/April anyone?

Post by angram »

Hi everybody, hope you all had a great weekend. Trigger went great, the shots seem to get easier and easier. Well my retrieval is at 7:30AM tomorrow and I'm so excited. I did not think I was nervous, but I have not been able to eat much in the past few days, and when I do, I feel horrible. I think it's my nerves that are making me sick, which is so odd for me. Anyway, I'm ready for tomorrow and then looking forward (although nervous) about the fertility report and final transfer. I'll let you all know how it goes.

J&C - An official congratulations, it is so great to hear about BPF's!!

boluwa - Congratulations to you as well, let us know about your beta tomorrow.

DrJen - I hope your RE runs the test for you and good luck on the results, I know it'll be negative.

rlk1 - Hang in there, the time will go by fast once the week starts and work is busy :)

Neffi - Keep the PMA, it's your turn next!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend and a Happy Easter.
