Hi Kipatte,
I am having a scheduled c section on April 23rd, that is if my baby will stay that long and if she is growing properly, if not, then it will be earlier.

K: I am scheduled for a C-Section on May 9. Time can't pass soon enough.
Vlada: NST -- Got it, thanks.
WC -- YIPEEE!!!!! Not for your pre-eclampsia or pain, but for the light at the end of the tunnel. You get to hold your babies soon (how amazing!). Wishing to a healthy and smooth birth.
Cocoa: How are you coming along?
Rebecca: Is the cold any better?
Anyone heard from LisaP?

My mom and dad arrive at the airport in about 15 mins so I must head off to pick them up. 4 more weeks of work -- hope I can handle it. Really having issues standing, even sitting for over an hour. Wish the little ones would drop just a wee bit so my ribs wouldn't hurt so darn much.

Love to all.
Me: 40; DH: 30 (Demi/Ashton!)
9/14/07: 3 perfect blasts xferred
9/23/07: BFP with 745.6 Beta!!! Twins

hello ladies, just bumping us up before we get lost at the bottom of the page.

WC/Cocoa - how are you both? your silence makes us wonder whether your little nippers have come into the world?? sending you both lots of love and luck for the upcoming few days/weeks.

Croella, how about you? You are pretty close now!!

Vlada, any update?

babyb, hope you're being spoilt rotten by your parents!!

I'm doing ok, babies passed yesterday's NST and Dr is waiting until our next growth scan (3rd April) before making any decisions. Really hoping that we can stick to our initial plan of 14th April. She confirmed that I had ripped my intercostal muscles on my right hand side by coughing and that's why I'm in so much pain  She also told me they take weeks to repair so to expect the pain to continue even after the babies are born...fun!

Enjoying being off work but it's hard to be productive when my side hurts so much. Off to BRU this afternoon to buy a breast pump.

Lisa, hope you're doing well.

Take care all

Rebecca

Rebbeca I'm still pregnant  I'm glad your babies are doing great. Re determining the gender - they told us when I was around 24 weeks that it's a girl....ever since then people simply buy stuff that is girly and ping in general...We have heard that mistakes have been made, so if in the end I give birth to the little boy it is going to be funny. As far as clothing goes I think I'll have enough neutral colors to dress him up:)

Hi Ladies... Just wanted to give a quick update...

LISAPA!!!! I was so happy to see you post but I am saddened for you about your aunt. I pray for God's mercies and love during this time. I know it is not only sad but exhausting as well. I watched a friend of mine go through this with her mother for 2 years until the end...not saying its the end for your aunt but I know you have the heart to be there for her and almost not yourself so take care of YOU too and know that you are in my heart. Regarding your new cycle...Yeay!!! I am keeping a very close eye on you my sweet lady... Blessings to you and Jeff.

Hey CroElla - I was THREE cm dialated and 50% effaced for THREE weeks before I went into lame labor with my son. OB had to break my water to get my labor really going (contractions were really irregular...). So if this is your first baby NOTHING is a given. You could even go past 40w! (not trying to be a bummer but don't get nervous if you hold out longer than 38-39w...) I am routing for you!

Well, baby B (boy) decided to flip head up again but it gets worse... he is sitting frank breech so there is probably little chance he'll flip again hencde a c-section which I really wanted to avoid (but the way my life has been going I shouldn't be surprised)... I am contracting pretty regularly at this point and I have to tell you that I cannot wait for it to be OVER!!!! I am miserable... My legs, ankles and feet are SOOOO swollen I can't bend them and the pitting is really deep. Still not peeing a lot and I now have 30 protein but ob doesn't seem concerned. She thinks I will go into full blown labor next week. I am caught between a rock and hard place about how I feel about when I deliver. If I can hold out until the 5th then I will be able to collect my disability money, if not I may have to return to work at the end of May just to be able to pay bills.... (cause I will have finished my 8 weeks post-partum before June 1st if I deliver this week). BUT I so want these babies out!!! I cannot eat, I cannot sleep, I cannot BREATHE!!! I gained ONE POUND in the last 2 weeks but the babies gained over a pound each!

I am a little confused by my last growth scan yesterday... Both babies have been ONE OUNCE different until this week. I was told Baby A girl was 6-11 but Baby B boy was 5-7!!! What happened???!??!? No one seems overly concerned about THAT either... So, I could go any day now and I am just going to accept what God has for me...

Hey... anyone have blurry vision? I feel fuzzy...

Stay in touch ladies... HEY WC!!! I hope all is well and that you can post soon - babies here or babies not here I hope you can let us know how you are really soon!!!

Hi Cocoa, I am from the Oct board and butting in here but....I was reading that blurry vision is a sign of Pre-Eclampsia (sp). I would be calling your doc immediately. Good Luck.

Hi everyone: Sounds like we are all getting really close (except ME!). Ho hum. I went for my 30 week scan today and all looks great. The boys are both a little over 3 lbs now. My cervix is nice and long (3 cm), which means I shouldn't be going anytime soon. This is great news, right?! Yes, the little buggers need to cook. BUT, like Cocoa, I'm SO DONE DONE DONE DONE! Everything hurts. My back is constantly in pain, I can barely sit or walk, I have difficulties breathing and my stomach feels like it could pop like a balloon at any given moment. Looks like May 9 might be a realistic date (as this is my scheduled c-section and It doesn't look as though I'm going any sooner based on recent exams). I shouldn't complain -- my boys need to come first.

My baby shower is this weekend. So far, few if any items have been purchased off my registry. I think this is a Los Angeles thing. I have sooo many clothes, I just need the practical stuff. I listed really reasonably priced items on the registry and was hoping that more people would take a look at it, but in this town, people are so oblivious and lazy that I'm guessing that they didn't even realize from the evite that we are registered anywhere. Oh well. The point of the event is really just to see my friends and celebrate this happy (albeit miserably uncomfortable -- LOL) time.

Croella and Cocoa: Tied for first in the race right now. Keep us posted.

LisaPa: Glad to hear you will be cycling again. Sorry to hear about your aunt, though. You are in my prayers.

Rebecca: That sucks about the tear in your side. Can't make things any better I know. Ice, ice, ice -- I feel like I live on it all day.

Vlada/WC: Keep us posted. Thinking of you.

Who am I missing?

Back to work; just wanted to give a little shout hello.

Lisa! SOOOO excited that you are cycling again soon...I am thinking of you OFTEN and wishing you peace in some way shape and form. Very sorry to hear of your aunt. Wishing you well as ever...

OK ladies, just a quickie as hubby cooked me dinner and I am on bedrest and starving (can't take the stairs unless necessary...hmm. does hunger count?)

Had a BPP today. Kids were perfect. No longer measuring weight, but man they look huge.
Yesterday's OB appt? HE was talking 38 freakin weeks again...ahhhhggg

My BP is low again...thank god...but will have more blood work and do another 24 hr urine collection (yippee) tomorrow...but, bedrest has made me drink less water and I doubt I'll have much pee to collect!!! TMI, sorry...but...

Some of you know I have had a relatively pain free pregnancy
NO MORE...I am miserable...in pain constantly...little boy, I learned today, is basically 'standing up' so his feet are tearing at my insides, above my cervix...little girl likes to tuck her toes under my rib cage..
nights are hell
BUT I was given ambien.
THEN I remembered I had tylenol with codeine from a brief pain stint to L&D at 22 weeks...since I had to take 2 tylenol PLUS ambien last night? I called my OB and asked if I could just take a tylenol with codeine at night. He said OK
I would hook to a morphine drip now if they'd let me
Rebecca, can not believe you ripped muscles/internal stuff...you POOR DEAR...I really feel for you...can they give you meds? I know, I know...I was one of those "no tylenol, benedryl, etc" early on...
now? Gimme drugs!

I can NOT believe how close so many of us are...egads. How the h*ll did that happen?

CROELLA...you go girl...my god you are almost there.
Baby B...oooooo, wishing you no pain ... you poor thing
and Cocoa...I think your OB needs to be b*tch slapped.
Hellooo....sounds like something is seriously going on...BLURRY VISion...call her . I can't believe she is so nonchalant about the protein...THAT is what ended me in the hospital as much as the BP readings...I hope you fair well...wishing you well

oops,,, more personals later...hubby is here xxoo

gestational diabetes

Post by carolina1girl1 »

hey, i am sorry to jump in on your boards but all my june buddies have all disappeared. i will be 28 weeks in sat. due june 21st. i had to do the 3 hour glucose test and found out that i guess i have gestational diabetes. they wanted me to watch my carb intake and check blood-sugar 4 times a day. some levels have been good a few a little high. does anyone have info on this or going through it? they want to put me on insulin but i am so scared it could hurt the baby, any info is greatly appreciated!!

Carolina girl...congrats! 28 weeks is a big milestone!!!
I don't think your OB would put you on insulin if it would hurt the baby...maybe not being on it would? don't know...
why don't you start a thread that asks the GD question?? I bet lots of moms have it....and would have some responses...sorry you have to go through this...and stick around! June babies are the best (i'm one haha)

OK, do where was I? Croella still can't believe you are almost 38 weeks...good luck! HOpe the moms are feeding you and spoiling you rotten..
you too, BabyB,
and Cocoa? If we could be up there we'd all spoil you...you deserve it...man, your poor little body! I do hope you give birth soon to relieve you of that pressure...but do get the vision thing checked..do they do blood tests too?
I guess my OB is more conservative, one hair out of place and he is on it...and I am grateful for it...

OK, my hubby just cooked me a dreamy meal...he has waited on me HAND AND FOOT and now told me that he is now going to take the month of april off to take care of me, then to be here for the babies.

Now, this is HUGE as he is a very busy doctor with his own practice (and partners) and never takes time off...I hope I have the babies sooner than later cuz i'll be BUMMED if they come mid-April and he only has 10 days or so with them...I want him to take the time for when the babies come, but their arrival could be any time, and he does not want me stranded at home when the time comes.
He is amazing and I am grateful for him...
you should've seen the look on his face when he came home and saw that the PT nanny had set up the pack n play....so funny...I even paid more money for a decent looking one (what's up with the poo brown colors with Graco? ick)...but it did not matter...it just doesn't go with our antiques ;)
can't wait till there is a mewling puking babe inside the pack n play

Aliann...how goes it? good to see your name
vlada, you hanging in there?

OK...must get offline..too much sitting up...
Please wish for me my babies' safe delivery, next week...or the following. I'll be miserable if my OB still wants me to make it to 38...I won't that much I know...but I wish he'd just change the freakin' date to give us peace of mine.
xxoo
Oh, and hubby now does not like our boy's name we chose..so he is looking for a 'smarter' name. I lOVE the name we chose...but hey it's his son too..
as long as he doesn't mess with my daughter's name..that is in stone

Hello Ladies,
I see sooooo much activity here!!!!
Rebecca, I hope you will feel better soon, so as Cocoa and Woodcliff and Babyb, you poor twin mommies have to take double pain in this last month of waiting.
Lisa, Good luck with your cycle!!!!
I went for my 3D US today and my baby has grown quite a bit, she is now 5 pounds and 3 ounces and at 29 percentile, which is very good because she was at 13 just two weeks ago. So, it was good news, BUT now she has a cord around her neck, which is alarming, it is not hurting her and she is moving, but now i have to go for NST tests twice a week and really pay attention to her fetal movements. Also, i will have another 3D US in two weeks again to make sure she is still growing properly. Man, it is always something!!!!
She looks soooo gorgeous, chubby with big lips, just like a little doll, definitely fatter than she was last time.
Honestly, i don't care about her appearance, as long as she is healthy, but today's 3D pics were pretty cute
Well, i wish everyone good luck, and i am so happy for all of us to be getting so close to meet our little ones!!!

Gosh so much going on!! we're nearly there!!

Vlada, glad to hear that your little girl has put on weight - that's a great size!! sorry though to hear that she has the cord around her, bless her - good to know now though so they can keep a close eye. I guess that means a C section for you?

WC - very happy to hear that your BP has stabilised - I do hope that your beanies decide that 37 weeks would be more appropriate and that you don't have to wait an additional week. Your Hubby sounds lovely!! Are you going to share the baby names with us or keep them a suprise?

Cocoa, how are you doing? I hope that your OB saw sense and is monitoring you for your blurred vision. Let us know how you are.

Croella, how is it with the mums in town? I love seeing mine for a few days then find a small house and constant guests a bit much to be honest! My parents are coming for 3 weeks after teh babies are born and I'm not sure whether it will be a blessing or a nightmare!! ...as much as I love them!

Lisa, still thinking of you my dear and sending all the baby dust and sticky embie vibes your way for a healthy May cycle.

Babyb, sorry to hear that you're in pain still - apart from this recent problem, I know I have been really lucky.

On that note, my ribs are killing me and it's hard to even take a deep breath without paying for it but my DH thinks it's natures way of slowing me down .... cruel nature!! I woke up in agony last night as I had tried to turn in my sleep - My DH thought I was in labour, bless! I'm now with WC on the medication front - anything which helps (which is safe) is a blessing!!

I'm still planning (mentally) for 37 weeks which take me to April 14th.

Take care all and sorry if I missed anyone XXX
14th april 2008 - beautiful twin girls!!
