andnichole- my get togethers were very nice, thank you for asking...now I get another wonderful weekend with family on Easter, I love spending time with family, so I am looking forward to this weekend.
Lostgirl- So nice of you to say hello all the way from Mexico. When do you come back? Congrats on good results from the nuchal test. I was not planning a babymoon per say, but I guess my April school vacation has kind of turned into one. I am going to visit my brother in upstate NY for the first weekend and then on the way home we are going to the poconos in PA for a couple of days. We go every year for our anniversary, but that is in october, so we figured this year it might be hard to get there with a little baby at home...so we are going early. I am looking very forward to it!
How is everyone else doing? Any fun Easter plans? I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Hi ladies,
Back from Playa Del Carmen, and boy is it true what they say about the 2nd tri. I feel sooo much better emotionally. No more meltdowns about being overwhelmed at what a baby on the way "means." I'm enjoying being pregnant a lot more.
I can't lie.Going away really helped. We were so lucky to be able to do so. Anyway come Monday it's back to work, but for a brief bubble, I feel so happy and relaxed. Yipppppeeee.
I'm also feeling better physically. Went to the gym twice during our holiday and did a beach run/walk with my dh one day too. I feel so good and brave to be out there running when my belly is starting to be big. A couple people at the gym looked at me funny but I just kept drinking my water, and doing my thing, as if to say, pregnancy, what pregnancy?

Hope you all enjoyed your easter day! I have been so busy at work, its crazy. Lostgirl is right, second trimester is a lot better, I don't necessarily need to be in bed at 7pm. I did my second trimester screening test yesterday, it feels weird not to have had an ultrasound over 3 weeks now. I'm thinking about changing my OB, the clinic is too busy and crowded. Do you all think its too late to change?
Caligirl,
Do what you think is best regarding changing ob-gyn's. Not sure it's worth it if all the bothers you is the busy crowded waiting room. I think the most imp part is whether you think your ob-gyn is competent, listens to you, and whether she or he is on the same page as you are about your birth plan.
Do you get along with her/him?

Cali- I agree with lostgirl. I think it is important that you like the ob and want this person to deliver your baby. But I don't think it is too late to change, if that's what you think is best.
Lostgirl- I know this thread has been quiet. There are not many of us around that are due in september I guess. I am sure we are all busy making baby plans too.
I had an ob appt yesterday. Everything is fine, test results so far have all been good. I am not gaining any weight even though my belly is starting to show, but it is because I was a bigger girl to begin with anyway. The dr says I may not gain any weight at all, which is perfectly normal. I will still be going on a hardcore diet afterwards to lose the weight I should have lost before getting pregnant.
I am now on countdown until next wednesday. Just one week until my Level 2 ultrasound at the hospital. This is the anatomy scan where they will measure arms, legs, fingers, toes, skull, and if baby cooperates, I will finally know boy or girl! I can't wait, and I hope the baby opens it's legs and shows us the goods!

Michele,
are you gunning for a boy or girl or does it not matter to you as long as the baby is healthy? Unfortunately a while back, I agreed to not find out the sex of the baby, which is now killing me! I run a couple times a week with another pregnant woman in my hood and she just found out she's having a boy.
I'm so jealous! I want to know too, but a promise is a promise, and I guess it will make the birth day all the more special. At least that's what I tell myself, because I am just so darn curious to know...
I get your impulse to make big plans to lose weight after the baby comes. But why not exercise to make sure to be fit and ready not only for labor but to make good on your promises to yourself to lose weight after the baby. Just 30 min of walking a day will help. Diet alone may help you lose weight, but consistent exercise is the thing that will help you keep it off.
It's worth a try, no? Lostgirl

Lostgirl- We are both hoping for a healthy baby first and foremost, but both of us would like a girl. I have a lot of girls and my family and can not picture my life without a daughter. We will be happy no matter what though. We are most excited about being able to start shopping, once we know what it is. Who did you make a promise too? Maybe you can renegotiate, so you can find out. If not, I am sure you can hold out for 5 more months.
I here you about exercise. I am looking forward to the nicer weather. Once it gets nice out I would like to take the dog out for walks and even down to the beach, which is just a mile or two from my house. I am especially looking forward to swimming in the summer. As a teacher, my last day of school is June 19, so I will be off for a long time. I am looking forward to a well deserved break.
When is everyone else going for mid term or level 2 ultrasounds? It must be soon. We are all moving right along...before you know it, the babies will be here!

Hello all-- Its been a while since I've been on...
I go in for my 2nd US on the 9th. Then we'll find out whether or not it shows us a penis or not...
Have any of you had some pulls on your belly. I've had them on my right side, it kind of feels like a running stitch. I went to see the Doc and he said it was just a growing pain and not to worry too much. If it moved though, then I should be worried about my appendix
Anyhow, hope all is well with each of you...
The 2nd trimester has been going much better than the first...

Hello, everybody.
Sorry for not being able to post frequently
Does anybody suffer round ligament pains? I have started having them last night. It isn't fun at all.
Elca: NO round ligament pain for me yet.. What do they feel like??? I heard they really stink. I wonder if there's anything to do to prevent them... or if it's just a matter of being further along than I am.
In other news, I had a totally uneventful ob-gyn appointment this morning at 15 weeks 3 days. It was nice to hear the heartbeat and to know that my blood tests all came back fine. I still have yet to get to diabetic screening back, but I'm not too worried on that front.
I did a bit too much exercise yesterday - went to the gym and did the stairclimbing machine for 30 min then biked for 15 then did some weights for my upper body - but I forgot how much walking we'd do in our househunting in the afternoon.
I was so pooped between open houses I took a hourlong nap, and then at night, had a serious hardy meal and fell asleep at 8. Then I mapped how far we walked and figured out why I was so zonked. We had walked 7 miles !!
Anyway, needless to say, today is a day off! Are you girls making time for exercise? If so, what are you doing?

elca and webgirl- good to hear from you both...don't be such strangers! We love to hear from you!
Elca- I had no idea what round ligament pain was until you mentioned it and I googled it. I think I now have and explanation for sosme of the pains I have had. Sometimes when I get up to pee at night, on my way back I get excrutiating pain in my lower right side. It is so bad it stops me from walking, I need to breathe it out and then continue. I am glad to know it is normal.
Webgirl- It sound slike your pain might be round ligament too. Everything I read said it is more common on the right side.
Lostgirl- no excercise for me yet, as the weather is still crummy, but once the weather gets better, I will be doing a lot of walking. I did walk a lot yesterday, as I went to the mall for bras and maternity shirts. Don't worry about uneventful ob appts. I think that will be most of them from now on. Just remember, uneventful is a good thing at this point.
Cali- are you sticking with your ob or changing?
Well, I am home from work today. I had a miserable night. I woke up around 2 to pee, and when I went back to bed I had really bad stomach pains, but not like the round ligament sharp pains. These pains were all over, the only way I could describe it was like the worst gas I have ever had. I finally fell back asleep only to wake up an hour later with horrible diarhea (I know, tmi). I still had some tummy pain. Finally, an hour later, I woke up with horrible, teeth chattering chills. I am never cold like that. I had no fever, but it was scary. I think I may have eaten something bad. I was exhausted this morning and my tummy felt tight from all the stress last night. My dr offered to see me for reassurance, but told me it sounded like a tummy bug. So I am just relaxing today. I will get reassurance in 2 days at my level 2 scan. I will post results afterwards on wednesday...

CT_Michele,
Yes, I have had a miserable Saturday. The pain came suddenly around 4 am (I am working nights), and I had difficulties walking - so excruciating pain I had. Bye the way, my pain is on the left side. I had to call the office Saturday morning, and got an advice to rest and hydrate myself. Yesterday I was filling much better, although I still have those, however, less intense pains from time to time.
During my last OB appointment I was told to anticipate this kind of pain from now on until approximately 20th week.
I don't do exercising, just walking outside for a mile or so every day. I am waiting for the warmer weather to start swimming, which I read and heard the best activity for pregnant women.
Swimming does rock! I finally got back in the pool after a half year or more out of the water and it easy to forget you're pregnant in the water. You're just so buoyed...
I took it slow and rested when I needed to while others on my swim team did an extra 100m or 50m. But then I hopped back in.
I had to remind myself NOT to do a flip turn because I'm pregnant. Anyway, swim away! It's the best exercise for the pregnant.

That's it round ligament pains.. My doc said the same thing.. It hurts like heck and has subsided a little. Thanks gals for the information. It really helps to know there are so many of you out there going through the same thing!
Thanks!
