Hi all- Just thought I'd say hi. I take my last bcp on Tuesday- yipppeeee! If I didn't already say this, I'm especially tired from them for some reason- oh well... Then I'll start the Lupron Tuesday too. After that I have a baseline us and bloodwork again on 4/3 and if that all checks out, they'll start me on the rest of the meds and we'll shoot for 4/24 for my FET. I'm excited since it's just a month away now. I just hope I respond good to all the estrogen like I'm supposed to...we'll see...

Hope you are all doing well. Let's all give updates soon...take care.

Laura ~ YAY - I loved whenever I took my last BCP. Every night when I would pull the dumb things out towards the end I would tell DH - ok, 7 more days, 6 more days, etc. I couldn't wait to stop them. One hurdle crossed - a million more to go.... :)
Ps. They made me sleepy and grumpy.

Faith ~ How you doing sweetie? May huh? That's the go time. Are you doing another fresh cycle or did you have more frosties? I apologize that I can't remember. I always brag about my memory but for some reason it is lagging right now. Moving from sunny CA to Idaho? I've only been to Idaho once. It was a drive from CA also and a very long one. I drove from San Jose to somewhere in Idaho and I don't remember the drive being fun. It was nice there, but it was a long time ago and I think it was winter. Told you, my memory is gone.

Crysty ~ What's a happen' little mamma? I know you are out of town, but when is 7 weeks and when will you be back?

Melo ~ I am so sorry. I am thinking of you. We are all here for you if you need to vent or a shoulder to lean on. We've all been through this. I never thought I would actually have a pregnancy that would be successful. I mean I kept doing the IUI's, IVF, 2 FET's and I never thought it would actually work. It does get better. I promise and I am here for you.

Karen ~ I hope you are enjoying your trip. I hear you on saving all monies for FET. I don't know, I live for today which is going to suck at retirement time. I keep hoping to win the lottery.

Beth ~ How are you doing sweetie? Any updates from you?

IrishHope ~ I just did a FET and the RE had me on 2 pills of Estrogen a day, 1 patch that I changed every other day and vaginal cream at night. I think before the tranfer I was taking 3 pills a day for about a week.

Who am I missing? I don't know, but if I forgot about someone, please forgive me. That memory loss is killin' me.

I had my last appt with my RE today. I had a glob (watch out, TMI) of mucus last night and again this morning with some blood in it, so instead of going to the RE tomorrow as scheduled, they had me come in today. (I am at risk of having an incompetent cervix). Anyway, baby looks good - was moving around - saw little arms and legs now. HB was 180bpm and baby measure a couple of days ahead. He released me and said I graduated. No more creams, pills or shots. I am so excited, but scared to stop taking everything. I didn't ask about asprin, so I stop that too???

Take care ladies,

Donni

Sorry this wasn't the right time Barbarella
May is full of spring beginnings - so hope you can make the most of the rest and all before giving things another go.

I hope everyone else is well. Laura - what is BCP? Is it part of medicated cycle? Glad your excited about the countdown anyway - oh how counting out the days keeps us busy eh!

Sorry this post is all me me me - but have a question - which I already know there is no real answer to - but heck how the smallest thing makes me indecisive - so want to do a mini poll! My DH is no use and just tells me do whatever I think - so what should I do . . .

I have three frosties left - and my doctor has recommended another SET (single embryo transfer) for the next go. (Standard here for woman over 38).

When I quizzed him on overall success rates between doing two embryos at once - or one embryo each two seperate go's - he did say immediate pregnancy success rates were slightly higher for those that did the two in one go rather than doing one at a time over two months if you see what I mean - but that this of course incurs the risk of twins (bring it on I say!) with the associated increased risks of miscarriage and premature delivery and post natal probs etc. He reckons "live births" (how clinical) are about even doing SET or DET (double transfer).

At the moment I feel pretty unhealthy and like am not at my maximum to being able to get pregnant, but am so impatient for it to work, and hell bent on maximizing even the slightest increase in it working.

What would you do? Transfer two embryos this time? Or take time and do one at a time???

Donni- I'm so happy for you! It sound like all is going well- that's awesome that you graduated to the ob! I remember being nervous to stop meds too but all was ok after I did and by this point your little baby is there to stay! (Glad to know you too felt tired on the bcp.) Anyhow, keep us updated!

Chris- I know it's impossible to relax but you have to figure it will all be good and hopefully the days will fly right by till your us. Then you'll hear/see that beautiful little heart beating and you'll be thrilled! You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Mel- I know I already wrote back to you on the #2 thread, but thought I'd mention that bcp is short for birth control pills which our clinic gives for IVF or FET at the beginning. My dh too leaves things up to me which makes it so much harder to decide. Like I mentioned to you about our situation, maybe you'd want to try a single transfer one more time and then after that, if you're down to the last two, you could try the double transfer. Good luck.

Hi to everyone.

Hi all!
Just checking in to see how everyone is!

Laura only a month to go now!! Yay!

Donnell sounds like you're doing good!! Another step forward now that you're leaving RE!!! yay! In May we're doing our next (and last) fresh cycle, so hopefully it'll leave us lots of frosties :) Don't want to even think of all the meds yet, but have to move forward. We're thinking of moving because california is SO expensive!! I've always lived here so it'll be quite a change!!

Chrysty I'll be thinking of you on the 31st!! Won't be long now, let us know how it goes!

Melo have you made a decision on how many you are transferring? I guess we were brave, we did 3 on our 1st and 3 on our 2nd FET. But it only takes one. I would go with on however many you are comfortable with or wait until you see the quality of one after it's thawed.

Barbarella have FUN in France! You and DH enjoy yourselves and spoil yourself a bit, you both deserve it!!!

Talk to everyone later!

So nice to hear from you Barbarella. I hope you and dh are doing ok. Hope you have a nice time snowboarding in France- as Faith said, you deserve to enjoy yourselves and have some fun and forget all this stuff.

Faith, nice to hear from you too. So you're going to get going in May? It's nice having time to not think about shots and meds...I've got a million meds for this FET...somehow, I thought there might be a few less than the fresh cycle but it's close- just less shots which is of course nice...anyhow, enjoy the month off till you get started again :)

Nothing too new with me...I'm doing the Lupron shots now and I have a baseline ultrasound and I think bloodwork too this Thursday to start the estrogen and everything else.

Take care all, Laura

Hello ladies!

Barbarella ~ How are you doing sweetie? It is nice to hear from you. I hope you have a wonderful time snowboarding. I've never tried, only skiing for me. I am a big ol chicken. Enjoy yourself and check in when you can.

Laura ~ How are you doing? So U/S and bloodwork on Thursday, huh? The time is coming. Do you have your scheduled date for transfer yet? Is time dragging for you? I used to look at the calendar and count the days until the next "event". That is what would keep my mind occupied.

Faith ~ Hey there darlin'. How are you doing? Good to hear from you too. So... May it is huh? We considered moving back to OK. It is so darn hot here is AZ and I left my last job because I worked so much. Well.... even though I love my new job I took a huge cut in pay so we have been struggling a little. Hopefully we can hang on though. (I'd personally still like to move but we can't sell our house right now).

Chrysty ~ Well..... how did it go today???? I can't wait to hear if there is more than 1 in there???

Melo ~ We transferred 3 all 3 times. 3 on the fresh cycle, 3 on the first frozen and 3 this last frozen cycle. I got PG all 3 times, but this is the first time one stuck and I only have 1. It does only take 1 and you need to be comfortable with whatever you decide. Good luck in your decision!!! My RE only wanted to transfer 2, but I insisted on 3. I was perfectly fine with twins though and would have survived if all 3 took. As for me, I couldn't wait to get on with the next cycle. I don't have any patience though. I have felt very out of control with all of this which has been hard on me.

Karen and Beth.... thinking of you ladies.

As for me.... nothing new here. I still listen to the HB everyday but only for a few seconds. I am still waiting to hear back from my OB's office because I have to see a high risk OB. Nothing else going on.

Lots of love to you all!!!

Donnell

Hi everyone! We have one healthy heartbeat! I am so relieved and happy. I have one more appt with RE next Monday. I have a consulation with an OB/GYN this Friday and hoping to get another peek then!

Yeah!

So with my high betas

595 at 16dpo
1497 at 18dpo

only one! Perfect for me. I am actually happy about carrying one. I wouldn't have been upset if I had two but this is my 4th c-section and I have two little girls already that need me every day.

xoxo

Chris- So happy for you about the healthy heartbeat!!! I remember that when I switched to the OB, they did do another ultrasound so I hope you will get another look! Best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Donnell- How are you doing? Sounds like all is going great! I'm so happy for you! That's probably so reassuring to listen to the sweet heartbeat for a little every day...I almost got that when I had my ds but my husband talked me out of it... We do have a date which is April 24 for our FET so I'm just wanting the days to fly by! I start the estrogens and baby ASA tomorrow because the ultrasound and blood were good. Then in 2 weeks, I have one more ultrasound and if my lining is around 8, they'll add some more meds including the progesterones, an antibiotic, and steroid and then 6 days later will be my FET...I'm excited!

Take care everyone!

Donnell or anyone else who's done FET- I posted a thread but didn't get many responses... just wondering where you all put your estrogen patches usually...I also wondered if when I put 2 or 4 on at one time, can I put them in 4 different spots or should I put them all sort of near each other?...

Thanks, Laura

Sorry I have been on girls. I had a scare - spotting, migraine headache, cramping and vomiting. Went to the ER - baby looks good and they gave me meds for the vomiting and migraine but I am still spotting. They just said to take it easy.

Laura ~ I would put them all right around each other. What I did was switch them every time. One night on the right side - hip or pelvic area/lower abdomen and the next time the left side. How are you doing by the way? Where are you in your cycle? Never mind - I just read a little further down and saw what the plan is.

Faith ~ Hey there darlin'. How are you doing? Are you back on BCP? What's the plan, stan?

Chrysty ~ YAY for a healthy hearbeat. I had higher than normal beta numbers, in fact according to the beta base I was right on track for twins. But I only had one healthy heartbeat also. I can't say I was bummed, because I was extremely happy with just being pregnant. But I definately had my hopes up for two. I think for me it was more the novelty of being PG with twins. Maybe, I just really want a baby and I don't care how many I get. :) I am so happy for you!!!

Everyone else - the thread has been quiet. I wait to post because I don't know what to write. I wait for updates from everyone else first.

Take care,

Donnell

Oh no, Donni! How are you? What's going on?
I am glad the baby looks ok, how scary for you. I am praying for you!

Laura, I usually wore my patches on my lower abdomen on either side of my belly button. When I wore two, I had two on front, and two on my lower back. That's how RE told me to wear them. The ones on my back were itchier than the front ones...sometimes I had three on front and one on back...do what ever is comfortable..the patches will do their job.

Congrats, chrysty. Enjoy your pregnancy. How very exciting for you.

Barbarella, how are you doing, girl? are you still out there somewhere??

Faith, glad to see you are ready to go in May!

I am set for a fresh cycle in June, still waiting for my protocol, but will start with next AF sometime this month.... .

gotta run, I'll catch up on everyone soon.
