Marybeth - How exciting!!! Congrats on 2 boys - how wonderful is that?? They will grow up the best of friends!!! Names, names, names. What are we looking at for names??? :) Sorry you have not been feeling well. :(

Seltzer - Sorry about Sandy. :( With 3 dogs and a cat myself, I struggle all the time with losing them. My cat is 15 and has been a constant companion for me through so many tough times in my life. My dogs are my babies and they are all between 8-9 years old, so I know I don't have forever left with them either. I feel so bad for you. Animals just become so much a part of our lives!!! I am sure you have so many wonderful memories, though. Again, so sorry.

Well, I guess I will add to the complaints. My back pain is back again and I know I need to lay off the exercise to stop it from getting worse. My gums are swollen and bleeding, so I guess I have to go to the dentist since pregnancy can cause gum problems. I am over-worked right now and DAMN IT - I am the LAST one of us to know (that wants to know!!) what we are having!!! It is making me crazy!! :D  :D  We have our appt at 9 a.m. on FRIDAY. I am convinced now it is a boy. Who knows. I am excited to find out!! :)

Alright, enough of my griping. Love you all and hope those of us not feeling so hot get to feeling better!

Take care.

Hello Ladies,
Well, I am up here at 4.40am, and haven't slept a wink! I am supposed to do a morning therapy, but I am cancelling. I did that once on no sleep, and was really sick the rest of the day.

So I've been thinking about it... heck some of you knew when I was like 2 minutes pregnant. Following that line of logic... I'm having a boy! When Marybeth announced 'twin boys', plus Rebecca's boy, I felt I just had to say.

Rebecca- Thanks for the gastro advice. I started taking Tums before bed and after meals as you suggested, and so far I'm feeling better. Still a bit queasy, but able to keep everything down the past few days. Yay!

Marybeth- Congrats on your two boys! Sounds like they are growing really nicely. Sorry you aren't feeling well, I sure can empathize. But of course the babies aren't scared, you are so cute! They are nice and cozy in their little bubble of warmth. They feel none of your unpleasant reality, which I certainly hope improves soon. Re: the colds- I also have been getting more colds than usual. I read that our immune systems are down during pregnancy, so it's all quite normal. Again, feel good and get plenty of rest.

Tina- Sorry about your gum troubles, hope that heals up soon. Hey, Friday is right around the corner, it's so exciting and fun finding out. It's a wonderful moment which I'm sure you're looking forward to. Enjoy!

Have a wonderful end-of-week everyone!

Congratulations, Marybeth!! Boys rule! :) They will be tearing your house up in no time, LOL.

And...CONGRATS, Shari, on your little baby boy! He too will be tearing your house up in no time, LOL. I just love baby boys, and I'm really happy you shared your news with us. Can you all believe it--we have ten new little people entering this world in about 4-5 months. So surreal. So exciting!

Are any of you getting kicked all the time by your baby(ies)?? I am feeling it all day long now, and a few times I felt it from the outside. I went to the OB today b/c I've been having heart palpitations, and the nurse felt the baby move when she was getting the heartbeat. My palps aren't of concern to the OB, thankfully. but he did say that since I had them before I was preg (but had a normal echocardiogram) I should check in with the cardiologist. I'm not worried, but I am irritated as hell because they are really driving me crazy. One more complaint to add to the list, LOL. Thankfully I am not having any other symptoms - no bleeding gums, no aches/pains, etc. Just the palps and the GI stuff. I have been eating in much smaller portions and things have been a LOT better. That's my new game plan. I am also working very hard at relaxing...I take a long bath every night with incense, candles, etc. My DP has been wonderful--so kind and understanding and loving. THANK GOD!

Thank you all so much for the absolute outpouring of sympathy and empathy over my kitty Sandy. It made me feel better.

Oh, and one more complaint to add to the list - anyone experiencing a stuffy nose and/or nosebleeds? My nose has been congested and bleeding since I got the damn BFP.

Dare I bring up the dreaded issue of stretch marks? Has anyone gotten any or does anyone feel they are about to get them? I have not gotten them to this point and am terrified I will. I read somewhere that they can appear around now to 6 months...AGH!

Hi Guys,
Just got back from the OB's and baby & I are doing just fine. Baby's HR in the 140's. It's always such a relief to hear that heartbeat. I kinda wish I could go in once a week just for reassurance(and I'm not even nervous about things)
My nose has also been congested since the BFP and I get small nosebleeds everyday almost. I have to keep a humidifier on at night at a high setting and I live in a humid climate! Claritin is on my approved meds list so I've been taking one a day since everything started to bloom around here.

Seltzer -since you brought up the dreaded stretch marks, I'll tell you it's one of my worries too. I know it's vain, but hey I'm only human. My mom has horrible stretch marks & my twin sister got them too. So I know my bikini days are over. I don't have any so far but I know I'll be getting them. My plan is to look into some kind of laser treatment after the baby is born. I had laser hair removal on my bikini line a few years back & it wasn't that bad. I think they are also used on stretch marks, so we'll see.
Another thing that's been bothering me is that I've now got a couple of spider vein marks on my face from the increased blood from the pregnancy. They are getting harder to cover with makeup. I'm hoping they go away after the pregnancy, but if not I'll get them laser zapped too.

Anyway, enough of that talk. Shari -congrats on the baby boy :D
Hope everyone else is happy & healthy,
Rebecca

Just posted some shots from my dear friend's baby shower. My mom took the pics, thus the not so focused shots - she admits to being a not so great photo taker. Oh well! That's my girl friend that's due in June, she's having a boy! We've been close since pre-K!

Hello All,

Well, I am up again at 5 am, since 4.20am, but at least I slept from 10.30pm on and off 'til 4.20. I've just been nervous and sensitive lately and it's affecting my sleep (not to mention the nightly peeing). I have an appointment next Thursday and I'm guessing my doc will do an u/s since he's done one every appt. so far, so I can't WAIT.

Some of you asked about names, and my hubby and I actually came up with a boy's name about a year ago in the hopes that I'd soon be pregnant- Eliah. It's one we both love and I believe that's what we're going with.

I'm gonna try to go relax soon. Seltzer, I like your bath with incense idea. Maybe that would help me relax  .

Be well everyone. Have a great day...

Hello Ladies,
Have any of you registered yet? I wasn't going to (I'm not having a baby shower), but then I was talking with my mom and she was wondering how to know what to bring me when she comes to visit (layette items, etc.) if she doesn't know what I want. So it's really just for her and close family. Anyway, it was SOOO much fun! I was picturing this cute little tyke in all these adorable things. My favorite is the hooded after-bath towel. They look so cute in those! It cheered me up and got me really excited.

Tina- I hope we both get some good zzzz's at night soon! I sleep like a baby from 6am-11am ( I work afternoon and evenings), but can't get comfy at night. Grrr. Also, I hope your back and gums are feeling better :)

Rebecca- Glad to hear you and your baby are doing well. Those reassurances are great.

Seltzer- Oy, heart palpatations? That sounds unpleasant. I am glad it doesn't sound serious, but just take it easy. Hope that goes away soon.

Marybeth- I am glad your stomach is feeling somewhat better. Have you tried Tums? It seems to help me a lot.

Well, gonna go put away some laundry.
Be well, and have a great weekend.

Great resource for registering, my SIL gave the the Baby Bargains book 7th edition. It looks overwhelming at nearly 600 pages, but it is a HUGE help when you're researching the best bang for your buck! I've been looking at the big ticket items & I've just been taking it one item at a time.

I was shocked to read that Graco's most expensive car seat, called the SafeRide, actually failed all of consumer reports enhanced crash tests in 2007...guess I can cross that one off my list! The book does highly recommend Graco's SnugRide for infants. The only thing I've been really frustrated with are the gaudy patterns they have for girls - I'm so not a pinky pink person!

Seltzer: I forgot to mention earlier....I have not had any stretch marks thus far, I lather my belly with tummy honey every morning after my shower..now that i am getting larger, I am start doing it twice a day! My belly already seems HUGE! I am not sure if I will be able to get away from some stretch marks! As for the babies moving around...NO!
I thought I felt something the other morning, but I think it was just some gas....Hopefully within the next week or so, I will feel the little love bugs!!

Shari: Sorry to hear about your sleeping woes...I do not sleep well at night either! I am up constantly! Now the heartburn has started to wake me, I will try taking a tums before bed tonight and see if that helps! Thanks for the tip!! :D

Tina: HMMM.....I am going to wager on......a little girl! I see pink in your future....lets see how good I am....probably not very, seeing as how I was incorrect about the sex of my own babies!! I am soooo excited to find out!!!

Dancinnancy: I have noticed the whole pink thing for little girls....do the retailers not think people may want to dress there child in something other than pink! I can see where you are coming from! Have you tried going online to check out some more options? I think I am going with the Graco Snug ride....this way I can coordinate back to the Quatro duo glider stroller.

My appetite is coming back...Anytime someone mentions some sort of food, I instantly want that food...I stopped by the grocery store today and bought a pizza, egg rolls, and cheese dip, all because they were mentioned today and I haven't been able to get my mind off of them! I have been eating pretty healthy thus far throughout the pregnancy, hopefully I will not get into a downward junk food spiral!! OH well, they way I see it..I was sick last week and lost a little weight, so I may as well enjoy putting some of it back on!!

Take care everyone!!

Marybeth
