catharine - think sometimes we have to make tough decisions in life, but in the end I do hope you feel you've made the right one for the sake of your health and well-being and that of your little bean growing stronger each and every day. It already sounds like your decision is a relief to you, and that is usually a good sign.

jenB - Hope you had a great weekend, despite the weather and really enjoy the time with your parents!

sonia, chriss - what is going on these days with you? Any new news? thanks for the weather report, Sonia! After a few days of snow, the sun is finally shining and the roads are clear, hope to see the same weather on Wednesday!

I'll check back in once I have some news after my ER tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty good and enjoying my shot free day...

Hello to LuAnne, Yasmina, Tammy, andrea, pricecake, and anyone I missed!

Good luck tomorrow amy, thinking of you.

Catharine, take it easy that's the most imprtant thing. Hope you are feeling well. And you are better off out of an environment that is not making you happy.

Hi Sonia. How are you? How did hysteroscopy go? Hope you are well.

Jen, enjoy the trip. Have fun and thanks for CD information. I'll be checking into them right away.

Went to "infertility" therapist for first time today. She was good to talk to. I see her again next week. Go for hysteroscopy next week. Check out uterus. Did not go to old RE yet for follow up appointment. But have one scheduled. And I decided to tell him what we are up to. Not much time to write today.

Talk to you all soon. -chriss

jenb- sounds like a fun week ahead to lift your spirits. have a wonderful time and thanks for the cd info.

chriss - everything you are doing sounds terrific. Is it all at the recommendation of your new clinic? sounds like they are already taking good care of you and addressing your needs. best of luck with your upcoming exam next week and last consult with your old clinic. How did your principal respond when you told them what is going on? Only hope they are standing behind you 100%.

I had my ER yesterday and they've scheduled me for a 5 day transfer on Monday. My clinic doesn't give any kind of fertility report till the day of ET, I only know they retrieved 14 eggs, which they said was optimal given the number of follicles. We were happy to hear that!
I was pretty beat and sore after coming home last night and for most of today, but after getting up from a rare afternoon nap, feel so much better and really like myself again!
Driving was free and clear once we left the Black Forest, but had to go through the tunnel as parts of the Alberg Pass were closed. Thanks for wishing the good driving weather on us, Sonia!

To everyone reading, including Yasmina, LuAnne, Tammy, andrea, pricecake, anna, & catharine --Enjoy the rest of your week and upcoming weekend!

Amy, your ER report sounds great!!! That's an amazing number!!!! How long did you end up on the stimms? Thinking of you for your transfer in a few days. My principal is very understanding about my situation, thanks for asking. And yes, my new RE has suggested the hysteroscopy and the therapy and I am grateful for new RE. Wouldn't it be nice...

Jenbabes, I ordered some of the cd's that you told us about. Do you listen to them with headphones?

Hi all, hope you are well. -chriss

hi chriss - really so happy that your new RE is working so closely with you and that you feel like you are in good hands. Is DH participating in the therapy as well? When next week is your hysteroscopy? Hope the procedure goes smoothly. At least it sounds like the new RE already has you dreaming of success - really wonderful to hear that.

I was on stims for a total of 10 days. I did the down-reg part for a long time before that. I was on the long protocol for the 1st time.
It could be that the DHEA had something to do with the amount of eggs? Is that right Catharine???? In any event, I think it is supposed to have something to do with increasing quality of the eggs and the environment inside. But to be honest, last time I had good quality eggs, according to my RE. That doesn't seem to be the problem. It is keeping the estrogen level from dropping too much during the implantation phase -- but my RE assured me he'd be following me more closely this time around...

I'll check in again sometime next week after ET --

Wishing everyone a nice weekend! Hope the weather is spring-like in your neck of the woods!

Hi Amy, Imagewell the weather... not so very spring-like yet. Sunny, but cold!!!
I've been off of the "eating healthy plan" a la zita west for two days and I feel it. Bloated today from lots of pizza.

Image

Tomorrow I will get right back on track. So hard to be "good" all the time, huh? Image

Well, looks like two more days till your transfer. How many do you plan on putting back in? How are you feeling? Are you sore after ER?
Image

Don't know much about DHEA, haven't heard many people talking about it where I live. Is it common practice?

As far as the therapy... I went alone the first time and I will go alone the second time, but DH will come with me the third time. He is more than willing and therapist thinks it's good to have DH come some of the time, but not all of the time. My DH is very supportive and he just started seeing his "own" therapist a few weeks ago. Neither of us were ever "into" therapy much before, but we both feel that it is important for us right now. Keep us strong and healthy and on the same page. I went with him to his therapist one time.
Image
You might be wondering why two different therapists? well, he started going to his before me. He wanted to look into ADD. He thinks he has it. I think he does too. ANyway. He started the whole thing and he suggested that I see someone as well cause it was helping him so much. I considered going to his DR, but I really wanted to speak with someone who has been through infertility/IVF, etc. And The woman I found has. Seems important to me right now. It's a unique situation that I know not all people understand. But she does, so it feels right. Ya know what I mean?Image

OK, I've been rambling. I can't help it, I 'm listening to those CD's that Jenbabes recommended. (Sort of like hypnosis in a way) ANyway I bought some. A fertiltiy one and a PMA one. The PMA one is on right now and I'm just typing away.

Jenbabes DId you hear that??? I got those CD's you were talking about!!!!

HI everyone. Sonia.... how are you? Catharine, how you feeliong girl?
Bye for now girls.

chriss - think it is really great the steps that you and DH are taking. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't go to 2 different therapists if that is what works for you - the main thing is the talking and feeling better and more positive.
Don't beat yourself up or feel badly about going off the healthy eating plan -- I've been far from perfect, but I do use it as a guideline. Sometimes a pizza is just what you need...everything in moderation is really key..don't deny yourself anything, you'll only want it more and will end up eating more than if you just had what you wanted in the first place -- know what I mean?

There is a lot of controversy stemming from the fact that there haven't been any long term studies done with DHEA -- so no one quite knows if this is a good thing to take or not -- but here are two articles that might be Interesting to read to give you some info -- Since I have this estrogen problem, I'm guessing that is why I was given it.

keep up all that positive work you are doing, it is sure to lead you down the path to parenthood in the near future!

How is everything going with you, Catharine? when is your scan? been thinking of you!

Hello to sonia, jenbabes, tammy, yasmina, anna, andrea, and anyone else who might be reading these days!

Happy Sunday and I'll check back in a few days!
Keep your fingers crossed for a smooth transfer for me on Monday! thanks!

Hey Ladies :D

Amy-wishing you all the best with your transfer tomorrow :D Then PUPO for you. Take care of yourself.

My next scan is tomorrow. I'm a nervous wreck. Sadly I'm working today :( but not much longer. I've scheduled an appointment with my old boss to discuss applying for teaching positions. Less $ but perhaps more rewarding. I haven't taught to large groups since 1990. Hopefully it's like riding a bicycle.

Wishing everyone all the best,
Catharine

Amy – wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow – a pleasant journey to your clinic and a smooth transfer. Are you still off work at the moment? Do you get to have acupuncture before or after ET? With all those embies waiting for you I’m sure you’ll be just fine. Thinking of you… it’s going to be your time!! xxx

Chriss – so glad that you are OK now and finding new strength to go forward with your new RE. It’s good that you and DH have someone understanding to talk to and it’s generally making you feel better. Sounds like you are doing VERY well at living healthy and that odd pizza is good for your wellbeing too. Have you got a hysteroscopy scheduled? Hope you don’t have to wait too long and all goes well.

Catharine – It’s about time you can put those work-related worries behind you. So glad that you are leaving work soon. I know it’s been getting you down for a long time and you can’t be doing with that over the next weeks and months. How many weeks are you now? Good luck with your scan, you’ll see your little one growing… wow!!! xxx :D

JenB, hope you’ve really enjoyed the time with your parents and have managed to stock up on some sunshine this weekend. Any snow still up there on the hills? Good for you keeping up the acu – it will be helping you with your flow of Qi and getting back your energy.

As for me: I’ve been struggling a bit with the emotions and have a little black cloud hanging over me at the moment. Not knowing if/when or HOW? we could even start a next treatment cycle means not having anything positive to focus on. Or at least that’s how it seems for now. We’re waiting for lab results of the hysteroscopy but I’m not really expecting them to give us any answers. Since stopping the meds my hormones are out of control again which doesn’t help. Things are sure to improve when we have some news that we can pass on the to clinic.

Much love to LuAnne, Tammy, Yasmina, Anna, Andrea and everyone else around. Have a good start to the week.

Hi All-
No time for personals, sorry.

Just wanted to let you kind and thoughtful gals to know that so far so good :D The baby is growing, walnut size now :) with a robust heart rate, 164. Now to find an Ob in an area that is presently experiencing a mini-baby boom. Translation, many practices are filled to capacity and not taking on new patients :( wouldn't you know it. May have to travel several hours to find an open practice, Guess I've been spoiled up to this point.

Everyone take care.
Cheers!

Hi everyone,

Catharine, glad things are moving along nicely. Keep up the PMA!!!

Sonia, hang in there. I know how hard it is to be so patient. You are in good hands. PMA. Thinking of you.

Hi Amy, how are you? How much longer???

Had my hysteroscopy today and RE says that uterus looks good, no fibroids, etc. YEAH! Also he was able to get a good look at the curve in my anatomy that has made previous transfers so difficult. The more information the better. He sounded very confident and it made me feel at ease. I really like my new RE! He's the man!
