Spoke to RE for follow up. This past cycle I had a progesterone surge in bloodwork right before retrieval- unfortunately most of the eggs retrieved were too young. RE is getting rid of the LH during this cycle. I was wondering what the reasoning is behind this.

If you could please explain it would be great.
Thanks so much- kimbers
That is not entirely clear to me. I suspect he means he wants to improve your pituitary suppression, so you don't have an LH surge and ovulate before retrieval. Perhaps it means he wants to use more pure FSH and less of the FSH/LH(HCG) combination products. Might mean both, I suppose. You'd have to ask him or her.
Another idea might be to trigger one day earlier next time. Progesterone rises as the lead follicle gets large. This is not a big problem for the eggs, but it does seem to get the endometrium developing too early.

Thanks so much
An LH surge will cause progesterone to rise.
The LH surge induces ovulation. The spent follicle then becomes a gland called a corpus luteum, and this gland is responsible for producing progesterone to prepare and sustain the endometrium.
