update on hospital visit today (38wks pg)

Post by bubblymichelle »

Hi Girls,

Just thought I would update you, well I went to the hospital today thinking I was going to be told a date and that I was going to be induced. Well I didn't get that, I have been told they are going to let me go into labour myself. They say the baby is on the big size but if they think there will be any problems me delivering myself then a c section will take place. Baby weighs approx between 8 and 9lb now and they say this is a big weight with still 2 weeks to go. They have booked me in again for 30th Jan but I will be a week over my due date. Its just a matter of time now girls, I'm just waiting. I asked them about the pains in my back and they advised me to take a warm bath or some pk's. To be honest I have not had any pk's since I found out I was pg and I wouldn't want to take any now with just 2 weeks to go.

So heres to waiting now girls for the news!!

Love
Shell.

Hi Shell,

Les heard a very interesting article on the radio yeaterday - apparently in France your EDD is worked out at 41 weeks not 40 weeks like the UK and they have less instances of inductions because of less women being seemingly overdue. So I think its OK for them to let you go 'over' if everything is OK - I can sympathise with not wanting the pk's, I hate taking anything too.

Rest up until it happens to keep up your strength.

Lots of love

Blimey Shell

If they let you go over term it will be a wopper  I am glad that everything is looking good and that baby is growing well.

I have to take pain killers as I suffer from Migrains and they are 100 worse since I have been PG. My midwife said it was fine to take Paracetamol as it doesn't cross the placenta. I don't like having to take them and I suffer for as long as possible but sometimes I just can't take the pain.

Can't wait to see what you have and when you have it. Not long now I hope. Take care.

Shell

You're nearly there! Hope you are not too uncomfortable and baby is punctual!

Are you taking any raspberry leaf tea or anything to `ripen' things up for a speedy labour?

All the very best of luck, you will be cuddling your mirable bundle very soon!

Hi Girls,

Well still waiting, sorry to keep you all in suspense, mind I am keeping myself in suspense because I can't wait to see if I am having a boy or a girl.

Well not doing very well today to be honest, I have a very bad back. I have spoke to the hospital who say I can take paracetomol but to be honest I have gone this far and not taken any pk's. The only thing is I can't hardly walk I look like a woman of 90. I just don't want any harm to come to the baby, I know you probably think I am being stupid but I think I've gone this far, but to be honest the pain is unbearable I was crying this morning. I am also getting period pain I wonder if I could be in slow labour?

Love
Shell.

P.S - Rasberry tea? no I haven't started drinking it, but to be honest does it taste like tea, because tea I don't like it, it makes me feel so sick!!

Hey Shell,
Sorry you're having such a crap time - I hope you are feeling better this afternoon. You are not stupid for any of the thoughts going through your head - you're just anxious that's all.
Try and chill out a little - if it gets really bad - call the hospital again.

Hi Girls,

Well the pain in my back is not easing, I have made another couple of calls to the hospital and they seem to think that I am suffering with siactica (Sorry for spelling wrong) they say baby could be lying on a nerve and this is why I am in the pain I am in. They advised me to call my GP and maybe he will be able to pescribe some stronger painkillers but they say that paracetomol are fine to take. I don't want anything stronger to be honest, I don't want to risk anything.

Well when I get to 40wks thats if I go that far, if nothing as happened then I may start with the rasberry stuff. I do know alot of people have taken them and started in labour so who knows.

Will keep you posted.
Love
Shell.
