Polyhydramos

Post by Kelley77 »

Hello Ladies....

I was recently 'diagnosed' with Polyhydramos...excessive amniotic fluid. To put it in perspective a normal amount of fluid is 5cm and my deepest pocket is 15cm....so three times. This is in Baby B's sac (smaller of the two babies, who is currently in the 16th percentil for growth at 31 weeks...she was 2lbs 10 oz) This has caused my intercostal muscles to start tearing...(so this in itself has caused excruciating pain) and my stomach is much larger than should be, and is very distended, and HARD.

The thing that makes me 'nervous' is the fact that the MFM said that normally, we see more fluid in the larger baby's sac (who is currently in the 45th percentile, at 3lbs 12 oz..yes, I also have a growth discordance issue as well) and when that is not the case, sometimes it may denote a chromosonal issue. I am only 29 so I did not have a nuchal, CVS or amnio etc...as my 'chances' were 'low'. Everything has always looked great with the babies (hearts, limbs individual measurements)....always scoring an 8 out of 8 on their BPP's. (I get weekly BPP's, since finding out about the growth issue). SO......my question..

'Has anyone had this issue, or known someone who has and the baby has been fine?'. The more I read on the internet, the more concerned I get.

Thanks for any input or words.....
