U/S at 5 weeks & 6 days, what can I see?

Hi Girls!

I am having my first ultrasound on Thursday, which will put me at 5 weeks and 6 days. What all will I be able to see? Sac(s), heartbeats, etc? I'm very excited, but I want to be prepared for what I will and won't be able to see!

When I had my ultrasound at 5 weeks, 5 days, I couldn't see much. All they could see was the sac in the right place. They told me they do one at this time to make sure the pregnancy isn't ectopic. They said it is very rare to see a heartbeat at the time. I go back at 7 1/2 weeks to see the heartbeat then.
Getting this one done was much the same as the ones I got during stims. In fact, they were also checking out my ovaries and remaining follicles too. The exciting part was they gave me a picture of my sac! Very exciting to have the first ultrasound picture but it was pretty much a dark circle.

You'll see how many you are having and thats about it. The earliet I have seen a heartbeat was at 6 weeks and thats even early! Good Luck!

I had one done at 5wks, they were seeing how many, measured the sac and checked my ovary to see how things were calming down. I went back at 6wks and the sac had doubled in size and you could see a little more, we HEARD the heartbeat then but it was way to small for me to see. At 7weeks, we saw the baby.. looks like a seahorse LOL! Heard and SAW the heart beat. The heartbeat went from 114 to 146. It's WONDERFUL to be able to see how much the baby is changing each week. I wouldn't trade it for anything. My week 7 my ovary had gone back down to normal size and the follicles were all gone.

Each week they gave us a picture of the baby They don't take alot of time with you..so don't get upset. I get pissed each time I go saying I can't wait for my OB appointment. BUT, my baby is growing like a little weed and for that.. I'm thankful of them.

There's a chance of a heartbeat at 5.9 weeks, but most likely they will not see them yet.

I saw both heartbeats at 5w6d... I think it could also depend on the implantation timing and the U/S machine itself... but there are NO WORRIES if they don't catch the HB tomorrow - its different in every case...

I can't believe it, but I am having twins! Plus, I got to see both heartbeats on the screen! I think the embryos implanted early and that it why I was able to see the heartbeats!!!!! I am in shock and excited!

Jen.. I KNEW IT!! I KNEW IT! I kept telling myself you were having twins. So glad to hear it. Also glad to see that you got 2 heartbeats. Isn't that the best feeling. Are you showing yet? I've got a belly poking out with just one. At first when I got my BFP i thought there might be 4 in there cause i was growing daily.. but the drugs and the bloat slowly went away now it's just baby making my belly grow LOL!

I am so excited! I have a little pooch, but I'm not sure if that's from babies or my follicles. One of my follicles measured 7 cm in diameter!!! Yikes! I can't believe it doesn't hurt more than it does!

Jenis ~ Are you over on the November mommies thread on the pregnant after treatment board? I'm thinking of going over there now that I've seen the heartbeats!
