23 weeks tomorrow and no real movement?? Help Please??

Post by ARG »

Hi, can anyone of you experienced ladies help. I am 23 weeks tomorrow and as yet have not had any real movement from Baby. I had a scan at 20 weeks and saw him move around ok, but couldnt feel it when I was there. According to the Scan and Sonographer, all is ok but I am concerned about the lack of kicking etc. Am I normal???

Hi Angela
Is this your first pregnancy? Sometimes, you may not be able to feel the tiny little movements & distinguish them from hunger pangs or gas. At this stage, movements are not that obvious. I started feeling mine earlier as this is my second pregnancy & I could distinguish them. For your peace of mind, why don't you get a doppler heart beat checked once thru your gyane. Wish you the Best!

Hi Angela - I went through this a few weeks ago myself - I will bump up the thread for you. I am now 27 weeks and still don't have movements all the time - I was expecting really strong kicks by now but I definitely have periods of activity - last night I though baby was going to burst out of my stomach!

So don't worry- 23 weeks is still fine to not be feeling things much - if you google fetal movements you'll see that sometimes they don't start increasing until week 24 or later which is what happened to me. My guess is they will start gradually getting a little stronger for you each day /week - don't worry!

Also if you are like me - the best time to feel them is when you are lying down on your side or even back ( but don't do back for too long) and after food- during day when I am standing or sitting I hardly feel a thing!

Good luck!
