Hello everybody,
Kipatte, my 3D US is standard for me, they don't have any other machines there, and i will have to have one on the 8th because of the growth concerns they had before. My insurance covers 90 percent, so i am good to go, i can't wait to see my baby's face again!!!
Hayley, hang in there!!! You are almost done!!!
Cocoa, Wow, looks like you might be the first one to deliver!!!! How exciting!!!!
Recebba, Woodcliff, BabyB, Croella, I hope you guys are doing good!!!!
I have started having contractions, i can feel them after the shower or at night, they feel just like menstrual pains and my friend said that my belly has dropped. I really want my little girl to stay in untill the 23rd, but it she decides to come out i guess there will be no way of stopping her
I am getting my hair done on friday, can't wait!!! Oh and i bought two pairs of shoes!!! Crazy huh!!!

I'm first!!!! :D I am scheduled to deliver via c-sec Friday morning... she was willing to do it today BUT if I wait for 36 more hours I will be able to collect my STD money and that will help a great deal... I am bleeding a little from the internal which may or may not set off labor (so far nothing) but if nothing happens then Friday it is... Not sure if I will be able to post before then as my dad and his girlfriend are here to help and be here for the delivery so.... pray for me... and the babies - baby boy's lungs were at 37 and 55 is mature but I am sure he'll be alright... I have to stay in bed though cause the swelling is just so bad...

Love you all...

woooo hooooo for Cocoa! SOOOOO happy to hear someone FINALLY is talking sense there...good luck! (I don't care if the OB is the best, I hate her...obviously the peri and his nurse don't think much of her ... I think she's been HORRIble to you!)

I get a wheelchair assist to meet me at the car every time I go to the hospital...so sorry to hear you walked so far! Didn't ANYONE at the hospital see you waddling along? I just hope your dad and his partner spoil you rotten, or at least cook for you and help you and LOVE YOU because you deserve it...you must be soooo proud of yourself...you should be! Bringing 2 precious beings into the world...

Docs don't give the steroid shots for the lungs after 34 weeks....
I'm hoping my babies are OK if they are born any time now...I think they will (have a feeling they want to come tomorrow)...but I am hoping for a Sat delivery.

OK....Vlada, best of luck to you!!!

Hayley....wow...you are almost there!!!

OK, very sorry to miss some of the other personals...the notes are on the previous page and I can NOT remember a thing...but total luck to all...

The au pair 'coordinator' is coming any minute. Ha ... interview in my bedroom...original!

OK, how to get comfy on bedrest (Kipatte or Aliann?)
Well I have a ton of pillows...and sleep a ton, but also sit up to work on the lap top and to eat...I try not to get out of bed except for showers, etc....but today I was in the nursery with the nanny trying to organize some things (she is soooo organized she is straight from another planet she is soooooooo fantastic!!!!)...and I got fat ankles again. not good.

The belly gets in the way..I take Tylenol now for the 'ripping' feeling, but I really only had one horrible week, now I'm fine.
The key: AMBIEN...my OB prescribed it and I get a FULL NIGHT'S sleep...soooooo happy.

love to all

Hope all you ladies are doing OK. I'm simply miserable and ready to be done (do I sound like a broken record?). 2 weeks and 2 days of work left. Never thought I'd say it, but I can't wait for bed rest. I'm exhausted and getting practice back labor now!

Trying to find some help for us once the twins arrive. Looking into Doulas and they are SOOOO expensive. I'm being told $40 an hour for twins!!!!
WC: How did you find your nanny? Did you go through an agency? Is she a Doula? A Certified Nurse? I'm trying to figure out what we need and am wondering whether these doulas do anything more than a regular old nanny that justify the price difference? I know I'll need some assistance after the C-Section (and Doulas are supposed to offer assistance to the mom), but seriously, the price is crazy. My hubby has night school 4 nights a week so I'm concerned I'll be alone in a house with LOTS OF STAIRS and 2 babies during the recovery period. Anyone have suggestions?

Cocoa: How are you doing? Deliver yet?

I'm sorry to be so brief tonight and lacking in personals. Thinking of all of you.

Cocoa: Yeah....... I bet you are really excited. Good luck tomorrow.

The midwife was here this morning. The baby is engaged.... which does not mean early labor, but she is ready.

I found a clinic that does 4D ultrasounds and puts it on a DVD. We are trying to book an appt. My midwife thinks it is silly since we have 20 days left but I would really like the experience.

More later.

COCOA, I am so happy for you just think tomorrow you will get to see those cute little trouble makers, you are going to feel so much better.

WC on Saturday for you!

Croella, I am still predicting the 9th, but well see

I can't believe that we have all made to this point, I remember last fall saying that we were going to be populating the earth this spring and here we go. Good luck to everyone I hope you have very smooth, uneventful deliveries.

So excited to read the posts this morning!! but it's put me into a state of mild panic as it's now all so real!!!

Cocoa, loads of love and luck for you tomorrow - can't wait to hear your news and hear that your body is getting back to normal. You really have been through the mill and back but tomorrow will make it all worth while :)

WC, I'm wondering if we might have double twins tomorrow!!! Hoping you can make it through to Saturday but equally excited for you too.

Both of you - enjoy your last 24 hours!!!

Croella, looks like you will be #3!!! ...although depending on this morning's scan I may overtake you at the last minute.... today is the day they will determine whether we're on for 14th (37 wks) or baby b needs to come out earlier which would mean next week.

Kipatte, I was told that the 4D US is best around 30 weeks as after that the babies get too big to get a good look..... may be wrong and don't want to put you off but would look into it before forking out too much cash.

Baby B - poor you sweetheart, 2 weeks will go by quickly but if it's really miserable, can't you ask your dr to put you on leave? I have been really lucky with my OB/GYN and she would have put me out as early as 28 weeks had I wanted it. Take care!

Vlada, allian and anyone else I missed - take care and keep us updated.

have to dash now as have my scan.... will let you know how it goes later.

Take care ladies XXX

just a quick update - had my BP and growth scan this morning. Both babies scored 8/8 for their BP which is great but both are really small.... baby a is 5lb 1oz which I thoughht was great until I learnt it's 24th percentile and baby b is only 4lb 6oz and under 10 percentile :( My dr is in surgery today but the dr on call reassured me that I shouldn't worry but it's hard not to...can't help thinking I've done something wrong for them not to be a bigger size. Also getting scared that their little weights will affect their breathing/feeding etc. I am on the little side (pre-pregnancy) and my DH is skinny as a rake but still was hoping for 5 - 6 lbs babies. Now need to wait until tomorrow to see if my dr wants to pull forward the C section to next week - hoping not.

hope you're all hanging there!

X

PS the perio i saw at the scan place today made me feel really guilty about having a C section... she said if both babies were head down it made no sense...wondering whether I am doing the right thing.

Just had to respond to your c-section comment. I had a colleague who got pregnant on her 5th in-vitro. The pregnancy was great and her baby boy was very healthy. He died during delivery because the cord wrapped around his neck. Now I know that is rare but after everything we have all been through to get pregnant I am not taking any chances. I don't know your age.... but any age over 40 is another good reason for a c-section because of the potential damage to the pelvic floor.

Whatever reason you decided on a C-section.... I would feel good about it. Some people are just opinionated against c-sections but you have to follow your knowing on what is right for your body and your babies.

Rebecca, I am truly shocked that your Dr. is so concerned about those weights they are really good for twins !!!! Your babies will be just fine again for all you twin moms. I work with a girl that had her twins at 30 weeks they were only 2lbs both spent some time in the NICU but are great now. One of my best friends also had twins at 32 weeks 3lb12oz and 4lb3oz they only spent 2 weeks in the hospital and are absolutly perfect. You have all surpassed both of these girls. There is no reason to worry, If the Dr. decided sto take the babies it's for their benefit usually they have stopped gaining in utero Rebecca this does not sound like the case with you I am sure the will stay in a bit longer and gain a little more weight. Try to relax.

Aliann, Kipatte - thank you both for your reassurance - I got stressed about it all day yesterday but your emails and a bit of time have allowed me to put things into perspective.

Kipatte, you are so right about C section - I'm 35, but went through 4 IVF's to get this far and have said right from the start I want the path of least stress for the babies.... i'm not bothered about me at this stage!!

Cocoa, all my thoughts are with you today - I'm guessing by now we have two babies to add to our april/may family!!! let us all know how you are and how they are when you get a chance. sending you lots of love for a quick recovery.

WC, you're quiet - does that mean you joined Cocoa??!!! thinking of you too as it's soooo close now.

So I'm just waiting for for my dr to call then I MUST pack my hospital bag ...can't believe that I haven't done it still!!

Happy Friday everyone

Just spoke to the dr and we're still on for 14th - very happy to keep them cooking to 37 weeks (assuming I don't go into labour before that!). HUGE and slow but going to enjoy the last 9 days.

any news from cocoa or WC?
