Hello everyone!

Karen and Tina: I too am sorry you guys are going through family related stress! Do what you have to do to put it past you and focus on your own health! This is definately time when you can justifiably be selfish!

I posted a belly shot and 2 shots of the boys on photobucket!

I can finally feel them moving!!! It is so amazing and exciting...can't wait till DH can feel from the outside of my belly.

We had our family get together/announcement yesterday! We had fun and everyone was excited.

DH was so sweet..he kept rubbing my belly all day and asking how the boys were doing. When we got home, I came into the room to ask him something and before I could ask my question he said " You are cutest, happiest pregnant woman I have ever seen" I think this pregnancy is making me love even more and really appreciate all he does!

Karen: Love the pics!!!

Take care everyone and have a great week!

Marybeth

Hello! Hope everyone is well! I did go to the dentist today and all is well. They said the swollen gums I have look fine and it is just a normal part of pregnancy. Is it just me or does pregnancy seem to cause EVERYTHING??? :D I go back next month for a cleaning, so it looks like I am good thankfully. My back is starting to get better but to be honest, I think the back pain just might be something I am going to have to deal with throughout the pregnancy. Oh well - getting used to it now! I have taken a week or so off from exercising and that didn't help, so I am starting that again tonight and going to see what happens. Wish me luck! :)

My little boy is SO ACTIVE! It blows my mind!!! I feel him thump and bump and jump all day lately. At work yesterday, I was stressed about something and then I feel a couple of quick bumps from him and I actually started laughing. It is like he was telling me to chill out!! Every time he does it, I still jump as it startles me! I love it! The jabs are becoming so strong. :D

Ok now, before I forget!! When we went to Babies R Us on Saturday, we spent some time with a Manager from the store and looked at car seats. Come to find out the Graco Safe Seat is the BEST. The Consumer Reports article that I know I reviewed is more focused on ease of use and installation and things like that which I thought was kind of weird (in other words, not as much on safety as it looked like they all passed the basic safety rating) . Anyway, the Manager said that a new one has come out in March I believe and Graco got the best safety rating. He showed us how both the Chicco and the Graco get installed into a car seat (a demo car seat they had in the store) and I was amazed!! The Chicco base moves all around and is not nearly as secure as the Graco when it is locked in place. The Chicco one has a smooth base and therefore doesn't appear to get the same traction on the car seat as the Graco. The Graco base has a base that almost has like grooves in it (don't know how to describe it) and the overall structure and design that makes it stay in place so much better. You could not move the Graco one on the car seat whereas you could move the Chicco one from side to side. Anyway, just something to think about and you could have a store representative give you a demo if you are interested. We have now gone to registering for the Graco car seat, car seat base and stroller! :D

Karen - Are you seriously concerned about 4 pounds? OMG! I would think unless you were overweight to begin with that your doctor would be encouraging you to gain more. Hell - I think I have put on about 12-13 pounds now! My doctor told me at the last appt that I was "fine". He might have meant to say "fat" - hmmmm....perhaps I should ask him to clarify that next time I see him.   I ran into a friend of mine's husband at the gas station on Sat and he sweetly told me I look great and that I am hardly even showing. I walked away strutting my stuff like a proud peacock. Ha ha!!   I am sorry you are still going through PIO shots - I hated them with a passion!!!! Still no word from the parents? I saw my brother and his wife on Sunday at my mom's and it took my sister-in-law like an hour before she said anything to me about us having a boy - whatever! It is pathetic. I really could care less. People are so strange sometimes. It was like she was trying not to acknowledge it to me. Again, whatever!

Shari - How is the insomnia? I think you should write a novel during your sleepless nights and make a million when the baby comes! :) Oh - and I love your boy's name. It is very unique and I like how it is pronounced.

Rebecca - I experienced what you are mentioning quite a bit a few weeks ago. It usually happened when I got up from a sitting position and at times, the pain was very sharp. It has pretty much gone away now - just the back pain now! :)

Marybeth - You look great!!! And my - what handsome boys you have! :) If I ever get my hands on a scanner, I will post some shots of my little guy. Isn't it fun feeling them move??? I love it.

Seltzer - how are you? How did your OB appt go? Still not going to find out the sex?? :) I predict a girl! :)

Ok, gotta run...well, walk that is....this old, tired body ain't capable of running anymore. I really want to sign up for a 1/2 marathon in Nov here in town which I think will inspire me to exercise this weight off after the baby comes, but realistically I don't think I can get in shape that quickly with the little one here. Oh well - on that note, I think I will have another cookie! :)

Hello everyone!

Tina: You are so funny! I laugh every time I read your posts! You must find a scanner...I love seeing everyone's different baby pics. You can go to kinkos scan the pics and save them to a disc so you can e-mail them to the world!! Take it easy there with your back....you may not have rested long enough from excercise for it to get better...I worry about my girls!! :D

I have started to expierence some different discomforts over the past few days...when I sit down, i can feel one of the boys setteling in under my rib cage...it makes me a little breathless....I am also starting to feel different aches and pains when I work for to long without taking a break....I sometimes try to do too much. I am really going to take a few steps back and listen to my body. It just worries me...I am only 5 months and 1 week pregnant....I have got a ways to go.....and the discomforts are only going to get worse!! Other than that everything is going well!

hugs to all!

Hello all! Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful weekend. I am so glad the weekend is here and I can relax, sleep, and get some stuff done around the house! :) Hopefully my husband will put Noah's crib together this weekend! That will be one big step in the right direction! :) In 2 weeks, the changing table comes in (it had to be ordered which kind of stinks).

Hope everyone is feeling well. I am starting pregnancy yoga I believe tomorrow. I walked my 3 miles last night and I just hurt the whole time with my back. I am thinking the stretching of yoga might make a difference. We shall see! :) But you know - we better enjoy the 2nd trimester while we are in it because I think the 3rd is going to bring its own set of issues! :)

Take care all!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi" and let you all know I've been keeping up w/the posts but haven't felt well enough to respond lately. My GI pain and bloating have been horrible since about last Thursday & I didn't go to work today. Spent the entire day lying in bed. How depressing! I haven't slept in days. I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions, which freaked me out at first, but my OB said it's normal. I Made him check my cervix at my last appt. even though he wasn't concerned and he said, "Your cervix couldn't be more thick and closed!" So I'm OK now. He said I should drink more fluids and rest more if I am getting them and if they are bothering me (which they don't - they aren't painful at all).

Gotta run...I just can't wait for this pregnancy to be over so I can feel like myself again.

Hello ladies. Glad to see our thread is hopping again. Well, I had a lousy weekend which is totally abnormal for me - but hey, what can you do? Just so much going on right now with my mom and I also spent way too much time working which I regret now. The weekend went way too fast! My stinkin' back is still hurting, but once again I know I over-did it in the yard yesterday. I just am not one of those people who can just sit still! I really need to work on that to see if I can heal my back some. Oh well - the GOOD news is Noah's crib is up and so cute!! My husband put it together Saturday and I put his bedding in it (even though it doesn't have a mattress yet). I love it! Noah's place is starting to pick up steam! :D Well, I am off to the city of brotherly love tomorrow - Philadelphia - for a trip I DON"T want to take to do a presentation!!! Uggghhh! Oh well, thankfully it is just one night and I get back around 11 p.m. Wed night. Still sucks though!! July can't come soon enough for me - no more travel at that point! Whoopppeee!! :D Philly is a long way to fly and my flight tomorrow is direct at 4+ hours - OH JOY! My back should love that. I have not started preggo yoga yet, but plan on it later this week.

Seltzer - Sorry you are not feeling well. That is sooo hard. If it weren't for my back, I actually think I love being pregnant. I am sure it is so tough feeling the way you do. I am so sorry.

Take care all! Have a great week!!

I know I just chimed in on this board and you probably already know this, but be sure to get up and walk the isle as soon as the seat belt light goes off (that's a good time to go to the bathroom)or in case of a bumpy flight when they don't turn em off just try and write out the alphabet with your feet to keep your circulation in your legs flowing. Have a nice trip :)

Hi Ladies :D

schel67 - welcome to the thread. Congrats on having a boy, they seem to outnumbering the girls on here at the moment. Maybe those of us who have kept it a surprise will even things up.

seltzer - your last comment made me so sad. I hope your GI problems ease soon and you can start to enjoy your pregnancy. I feel really lucky not to be suffering hardly at all.

tina - I too am having back trouble but mines the opposite of yours - it only aches when I sit still too long otherwise its fine. I used to get a lot of lower back ache and stiffness before but since being pregnant everything has relaxed and improved.

Not much news from here. I'm feeling really well apart from a bit of back ache and my ribs are hurting sometimes too. Baby is moving around loads and I just keep staring at my stomach waiting to see it move. I've started reduced hours at work from this week, using 2 days holiday each week til I finish. The last 2 weeks I've been quite tired by Thurs/Fri so hopefully this will help. I'm going shopping for baby stuff with my Mum today. I've not really bought much at all yet so think its time to start. I can't believe I'm almost 6 months already  I'm loving being pregnant and really want to make the most of it as it will probably be my only pregnancy.

Squeezan: Thanks for the welcome and the info on boy girl ratio. Do you know the sex of your baby, or are you one that's keeping it a surprise? I'm happy to hear your enjoying your pregnancy. So am I! I had a bit of back ache about a week ago and went to see my chiropractor who is experienced in aligning pregnant women. After that no more back ache for me, so far wooo hooo :D. My biggest gripe now is heartburn and reflux. Thank you Lord for my baby and Tums.

Welcome to the August baby board, schel67, and congrats on your baby boy. I have a 16-month-old boy...boys are a lot of fun. I don't know what I'm having & we're keeping it a surprise.

Tina - Sorry to hear about your aching back. Are you using heat and/or ice? I've had a lot of back spasms my whole life, and ice really helps. Also walking and gentle cardio helps. You could also see the chiropractor as someone else mentioned. Try to rest as much as you can bear. You will be psyched when you can't travel anymore. I can't believe you already have Noah's crib set up. We have NOTHING done yet! I am getting stressed over it but DP doesn't seem too concerned. We picked out a crib we like but haven't ordered it yet. We are keeping our son Nate in his crib for as long as we can...the day he's able to climb out we're in trouble, LOL.

squeezan - Thanks for the sympathy on my misery of a pregnancy. The great thing though is the baby is healthy, that's all that matters. In the end none of this pain and agony will matter. So I am trying to focus on that & be grateful for the growing wee one. But I'll tell you, sometimes I get extremely discouraged and don't know how I will make it through the next 16 weeks. I am glad you are having a good pregnancy...seems like most everyone is.

Schel67: Welcome to the thread and congrats on the baby boy.

I don't know about you girls...but I think this is the season of the boy...Everyone I have met or talked to that is pregnant is having a boy! It is CRAZY! Except for Dancinancy!

TinaO: I hoped your trip and presentation went well! I used to travel alot with my job, and am soooo glad I don't anymore, especially pregnant! I would think everything would just be even more annoying!

DH and I are going to Boston the first weekend in May. I am looking forward to the weekend getaway, but not the traveling part!!

We have officially decided on the names...Sullivan James and Miles Griffin..I started crying the other day after we decided and I could feel them moving....it made it all so real....Those little kicks and punches are attached to little boys that have a name!! I love feeling them move around...it is like reassurance that everything is ok!

Seltzer: My goodness...you are having a difficult pregnancy! My heart goes out to you!!! What exactly do the Braxton Hicks feel like? When ever I walk for too long, my belly starts to tense up, but it doesn't hurt, it just feels tense...I am sooo pyranoid that I am going to have a contraction and not even know it!

everyone keeps asking me, how long am I going to work..I am like....until my Doctor tells me I can't work any more...what do normal people do? Anyway...I am feeling HUGE!!! But still the love the joy of being pregnant!

We are almost ready to start filling the nursery! Just waiting on the carpet to come in!! So exciting!

Hope all is well with everyone!!

Marybeth

Hello Ladies,
I have been really busy lately cleaning for Passover, hence my absence from the thread (although I have been reading posts). DH is doing all the heavy work but I've done my share as well. I'm tired, but we have managed to get everything done (holiday is tonight, tomorrow, and sunday). Sooo, I am feeling well, TG, if a bit exhausted. I still get morning sickness from time to time, but it bothers me less already, if that makes sense.

Schel- Welcome aboard, and congrats- welcome to the boy club!

Seltzer- Oy, sounds like you're suffering! I truly hope you are feeling better soon. Is it possible that it's ligament pain as well? I had to take off 2 days for that, and I was in tears for most of that time, but I feel MUCH better now. Just treat yourself well with creams and baths- that definitely helped to soothe me and calm the pain. Be well!

MBG- You are so cute re: crying tears of joy over the names you chose, which are very nice, by the way! I can understand, as I also get sentimental over things like that. Yesterday I felt the baby kicking lightly, even from the outside a little, and it made me giggle with joy. Glad you are enjoying this precious time.

Tina- Can I talk to your boss about this travel schedule?? I am exhausted just hearing about it. I hope they give you lots of rest time during your work days while travelling. Hope your trip to Philly was a success.

Have a great weekend. Hugs to all!
Shari
