Positive HPT today, but some spotting - reassurance please

Post by charlie78 »

Hi

I took a HPT test today (in fact I took 3) and they were all postive. However, tonight I have had AF type cramps and some spotting. I am on progesterone suppositories, I'm so scared something is wrong. This is our 4th and last attempt. My hospital don't do blood tests and I don't have a scan until 8th May.
Has anyone else had something similar and everything been ok?
Looking for reassurance.

Thanks

Charlie

My RE said that as long as you are not soaking a pad in an hour or so you should be fine, I read about lots of women here having some spotting. Don't worry and enjoy your BFP!

Hi Charlie,

I don't know about the spotting but I definitely had AF cramps for over a week. They started about the same time as they would for AF and continued for about 10 days. I absolutely sobbed the night before my BFP b/c it felt like AF was coming.

Definitely check w/your dr though any time there's blood.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BFP!!! :D

I had spotting on the day I took an HPT and the day before, which is why I took the test in the first place. I believe Congrats are in order....so no worries! Congratulations! :D

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BFP!!!! What an exciting time! Don't worry about the cramping. I had AF like cramps for the first two months. I was absolutely certain I wasn't pregnant the day of my blood test and was shocked to find out I was indeed pregnant. Hang in there and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you all for the words of ressurance. There has been no spotting since test day although I still get cramps on and off. I'm trying not to get too excited but it's hard!

Thank you

Charlie :)

Hi Charlie ~

I had spotting for a couple of days and was also on prog suppositories. As it turned out, I switched to PIO shots instead of the suppos and my spotting went away. I was also SO freaked out! My cervix was just really irritated from the prog. Now all is well and the shots aren't so bad at all (way better than spotting!)

Take care and enjoy your pregnancy!!

Charlie,

I just wanted to say hi and wish you well. You ran the list I was on last year in April and I remember you very well! I am glad to see you got your BFP and wish you all the best!

hi charlie

forgive me if i'm wrong but arent you the charlie i cycled with in the past?????? :D

anyway, congrats on your BFP!!!!! i didnt have spotting but lots of AF cramps. from what i can gather on here, spotting isnt a problem as long as its not full-blown AF. so i'm sure you'll be fine. if you're still worried, i would ring the clinic though, just for your own piece of mind. but CONGRATS again!!!!!!!

JesJes - I'm so sorry to read about your news. I haven't posted for ages and was really saddened to see your ticker. I'm keeping everything crossed for your ER.

Shantala - yes we cycled together (I think it may have been Jan '07?)
Congratulations - wow you must be ready to pop! I hope you have your bags packed - how exciting! It's nice to speak to someone at the end of the journey. The wait till the first scan is nearly as bad as the 2WW! If I could just see into the future!!!
