Anyone Go to Cleveland Clinic or Jones Institute?

Post by AmyC123 »

Looking for any advice/input on a clinic. Here is my situation. I live in Pittsburgh and was treated at the Jones Institute. I did IVF but they cancelled my transfer because they said my E2 levels were too high and they did not want to risk OHSS. Even though this cancelled, the cycle still cost us $9,400. They froze all my embryos (12) for a later FET cycle. We did FET and thawed 6, transferred 3. BFN. This cost us $5,600. Now my husband is only willing to do one more treatment (and we really can't even afford that). He will repeat a fresh cycle if that is what gives us the best option or we can do an FET with the remaining 6 embryos. I am looking into travelling to the Cleveland Clinic for a fresh cycle as I think they will be more aggressive than Jones Institute. They are also far less expensive than any Pittsburgh clinics. I just feel like the doctors here in Pittsburgh are being overly cautious and bankrupting me at the same time. If I am going to go bankrupt then transfer the embryos Damn IT! Any input on Cleveland Clinic or Jones would be much apprecated.

A friend of mine on here goes to The Cleveland clinic. I'll pm here and ask here to respond to this post for you!

Also just wanted to add I am from the Burgh, we'll be back in a few years, but went to Magee's Clinic when I lived there!

Good Luck to you!
Jessica

Hi Amy,

I'm not sure what to tell you? I went to Cleveland Clinic for a fresh and frozen and both negative. The cost is close to 9,000 without meds. The frozen is less, I believe 2000 without meds.

If you are asking whether they are a good clinic, I'm not sure, I've heard positives and negatives about them.

Good luck,
Nadia

I also went to the Cleveland Clinic. My first fresh cycle was a BFP DD born 11/06 , FET 9/07 BFN (Chemical), 2nd IVF - BFN, I just did a FET 4/9/08 of 4 embies in 2ww. I was thinking of changing clinics and just didn't know what to do. Cleveland's prices are much lower than what you paid. My FET was $1603.00 without meds. I am org. from Pittsburgh but moved to Ohio 17 years ago with my DH.

Good Luck,
Brenda
