Right....I'm not using any herbals during the study, not even my tea tree toothpaste LOL I always took Wild Yam or I would drink Wild Yam tea during PMS and it helped. I also used Black Chestnut for my hemi's (sorry TMI LOL). And Tea Tree Toothpaste for gum health....again, none of them will pass my lips during this study LOL

I'm following the rules to a T, but eating healthier foods that might help to balance progesterone and estradiol levels couldn't hurt. You're supposed to eat healthier when trying to conceive, or when you're pregnant anyway...so again that was my only reason for posting those sites.

I just checked another board where they have an ongoing thread about the study and it seems that the 1st one over there also was given the ring and she just got a BFP!!!! So I concur with WhyNotUs....I think we'll all be fine :)

Hi all, newcommers..welcome....

Indie..you are right...acupunture is not allowed...its written in the paperwork...I am glad that I have done only 3 sessions...I will not tell this to my RE...he might throw me out of the study.....Indie how do you kep up with all the information....I think I avoid reading the stuff becasue it feels like a lot...very overwhelming...and thats why I dont even write or read online much...

About the money....again my approach to it is...whatever would be...would be....this does not mean that I am very rich...ofcourse I am in the study to save money...so the bottm line is I WILL SAVE MONEY...how much.....will find out when time comes...I have been told that I have to contribute 2 thousand for the ivf + 3 thousand for the meds...

About the progesterone level....here is what I think...according to my RE...proges. in blood varies a lot..so its value is not right after the ET..so blood test is not good..and anyway thiis study is not allowing any blood test...since in the past....ring vs. gel has shown equal pregnancy rate...we will all be fine....

About my calender...

17TH: LAST DAY PILL
13TH: 1ST DAY LUPRON.
22ND: ULTRA SOUND+ BLOOD WORK+ GONAL+ LEUVERIS

thats all I know...

Thank you Stress for the support! Today we are expecting a day 3 update on little embryos. I am nervous about that- I hope all 4 are doing well and looking like A+ quality...can they tell today?

Knrjack- how is your progress? US and bloodwork on track for ER at the end of this week? Will it be a 3 or 5 day transfer? I bet you're getting excited.

The ring is working out fine. I don't feel it and my husband didnt feel it either if you know what I mean (or at least he said no- probably afraid I'd make him stop! :) ) Sorry if that's TMI! Remember that there is no sex after transfer until the pregnancy test! (my transfer is Wed.) I know Indie can tell you what page it's on in case you are wondering!

Have a great day all.

transfer today, nervous

Post by whynotus »

I got the call this morning that we are doing the three day transfer today. I should be happy we have gotten this far, but I am really disappointed that we couldn't do 5 day. My clinic has success rates for both and 5 day is better... I asked how many embryos we had and the person calling couldn't tell us. :x

Beccatx - looks like we are on the same schedule. Hope you get good news today... and get to wait for wed.

Will let you know how it goes, but the trail transfer was pretty easy. Except for the exploding bladder thing!

Becca ~ I go in this morning for my E2 bloodwork. I am a bit nervous. I hope they callme with results. I start my Ultrasounds on Wednesday. This week is going to fly by.

Whynotus~ Congrats you are so close to ET. Keep us posted.

Indie ~ Thank you for the positive BFP report. That is amazing. Where is the group you got this from?? What a hopefuly thing to look forward to.

Stressball~ quick catch on the Accupuncture. I wouldn't say anything either. This is going to be your IVF BFP. he he

Well, Yesterday was my last day for streneous excercise and intercourse until we get a bfp blood test. Poor hubby. HE HE. POOR ME. My ovaries are dancing around feeling poky and what not. I am getting nervous for everything and hoping I can get my house in order for us to leave for Reno at a moments notice.

I will get back on later today and let you all know on the bw rsults. What is the E2 levels for again. I can't recall specifics.

thanks, Knrjack. Good luck this week. I'm feeling more positive... should be ok by the time I get there.

To everyone... I know how nervewracking it is waiting to get going. After the bcps, it really does go by pretty fast. Hoping you are all joining us really, really soon!

The ring is fine today. Here's hoping I have to use it for 12 weeks! Stressball, I think I might have to steal your name for today. I'm actually glad I'll be taking a valium before transfer, and I hate taking drugs! Bring on the valium, I need it.

Stress: Glad you were able to cancel the accupuncture :) I'm not 'in' the study yet...since I've not started BCP's so I read and highlight a LOT so I won't forget anything when I do make that jump LOL I even took notes during the video....cause I knew I'd forget it otherwise. Glad that you finally got your trigger shot too....that's odd for them to get so low.

WhyNotUs: Glad that the ring is working out for you. I really don't care which one I get....just praying it's easy to get used to. I kind of mapped out my treatment plan on a calendar using some of the other ladies dates and it does seem to go by rather fast once that BCP starts....I'm looking forward to that. Still have that darn psychologist appointment too though! I have heard that the transfer is like a pap (without the scraping) so I think you'll be fine....:) Are you writing down the valium? What do they say when you take something like that? I never take anything....had a bad reaction to meds a few years ago....so they looked at me like I was crazy when I said that I don't take many meds (unless they are prescribed or I'm just dying LOL....oh or in Labor and then I want some major meds). Looking forward to your ET report...how many did you transfer and did they give you a grade?

KNR: Wow, you are moving right along :) The E2 is Estradiol...correct? Some reason they are supposed to be in sync. So if you have very high Estradiol then it suppresses the FSH and makes it look like you have very young ovaries and plenty of the follicle stimulating hormone left. I think the nurse said that if you have cyst sometimes it can raise that estradiol to a point that it would suppress those FSH numbers. The group that I found the other post about Duramed was FertilityCommunity.com They have about 50 pages over there..most of them are from TX though :) Here is a doctors blogspot about the E2 and FSH:
http://infertilityblog.blogspot.com/200 ... rogen.html

Becca: I can't believe you are already so far along. I'm jealous LOL Keep us updated!!! Oh and it's on page 5 of 21 at the very top after visit number 5...says you are instructed to NOT have intercourse until visit 6 which is 11-12 days after ET.

Well, my nurse is out of the office today so she won't get my message about the psychologist until tomorrow. I guess I'm still waiting on AF :)

So many more study buddies, YAY!!

Whynotus, Becca, Knrjack, Czattau:

Congratulations for making it this far! I am sending you ladies the BFP and STICKY STICKY Vibes. I pray you all get BFP's. I think this is a lucky board!
The 2ww can seem like an eternity but it will be over before you know it!!!

As for me, that $404 bill got reversed because it was supposed to be included in the study. I think they were hoping I would just pay it. Anyway, I start the GonalF and Menopur tomorrow. It's really flying by now! Wishing you all a great week...

I got a call from Janna at Dr.Foulks office and I am to reduce my meds from 300 Follistim to 150 of Follistim and the same on my menopur. Apparently I am stimulating VERY WELL. My ovaries LOVE the drugs. he he. My Blood work levels they want to see between 500-1000 and I am already at 1317. YEAH. Not as much meds. WHOO HOOO. he he.

And she doesn't want me to take my meds right away on Wed morning (just the lupron) so they can see where my eggs are at. I have a feeling she thinks I will go early. YEAH. I hope so.

Wow- whynotus! ET is a great thing...I'm sure 3 day is the right choice if the doctor's say so...how did the embryos look?

I found out today I still have the 4 fertilized eggs and 2 of them are 6 cell, 1 is 7 cell, and 1 is 8 cell. 2 of them are very slightly fragmented...they may or may not get worse- if they do, they won't make it. My transfer is Wed. at 11:15 a.m.

Knrjack- yippee for you being a quick responder...good luck and will you be able to keep in contact while at the hotel?

Everyone else in all phases of the study...enjoy this wait- just starting out-all sorts of good things on the horizon! FYI- From Day 1 of lupron until my egg retrieval was 22 days. It seemed like a week!

Well, it all went well, I guess. I was pretty disappointed until I got to the office - I always prepare for the worst. Since we only had 10 to start and 6 fertilized, I was expecting some to not have made it since we were called in on day three.

They transfered 2 grade A 8 cell embies. We have one 8 cell, 1 6 cell and 2 4 cells left. Our doctor said he would give the 8 cells he transferred an A+, the remaining 8 cell is A-. We didn't get to see the embryos because their camera was down! Ugh! We both really wanted to see pictures.

I really hope our other 8 cell makes it to 6 days to freeze, whether we are lucky enough to have a pregnancy or not. We can't afford to do this again!

The transfer was not bad, except for the bladder discomfort. I was determined not to use the bedpan, but ended up drinking way too much (for my trial transfer I felt like I would explode but they made me drink more). So afterwards I had to use the bedpan. But I was soooo relieved.

beccatx - good for you, 5 day is great. I wish we could have waited, too.

staying positive - thanks for the well wishes. Hang in there!

Indieblue - my clinic always prescribes valium for transfer. Not for mental calmness, but to reduce cramping. So I guess I will write it in the book. Honestly, Im like you - no drugs unless I absolutely cannot go on - but I was surprisingly ok with it today. I was so nervous and so much is riding on this... 3 years of saving just to do this study, and our insurance doesn't cover a dime otherwise, so this is our only chance. I was a mess. I did calm me down, but made me a little woozy and I slept from 4 -10 today!

I'm sooo looking forward to reading about everyone's progress during my 2ww! I'll be pulling for you.

Hi all,

Indie: I sometimes feel that you are like a mentor who is guiding all of us to get through this....Thanks for being there....Its amazing that you know what is on what page...video....I have not seen any....Indie...psyco. appointment seems very unwanted to you...but...beleive me..after you will see your BFP..you will forget all about it.....

Becca: Your transfer is on Wed. at 11:15 a.m....wow...you will be in my prayers...

Whynotus: When I did my first IVF....I saw many people on the board with three day transfer and many got BFP.....my RE says...lets put the things where they belong....I am glad that ring is working out fine.....just realx and rest...

Staying+: okay so another false alarm......you know what....I think its time when you stop looking at your bills.....let your clinic not mess your calmness...which you need right now...

Knj: wow..time flies...

Okay..for some of us 2ww has started..so please pary for each other....in my culture....its said that when you pray good without self interest for others....it really works...lets pray..lets pray...God...help us all become wonderful mothers....

Lov....

Indie~ Since you are the study expert, I have another question. I see everyone keeps talking about some book that they are writing in. And then I saw something in the consents about a Reminder Notebook. I never got one nor knew anything about this. Does everyone have one of these notebooks? UGH! I feel so uninformed.

Staying Positive ~ They are little Pink Reminder notbooks that have your name and study id number on the outside. You record any health illness, headache, flu... Rating it in severity of 1-3 and if you take meds or not for it. (Tylenol is all that is allowed basically) Then flip to a different tab and record what med you took an how many MG's of it. They keep track of it in the study to insure that the study meds don't cause these health concerns.

Stressball ~ I agree lets pray..lets pray...God...help us all become wonderful mothers.... I strongly believe I moved here, found a new re and in this study for a reason.

Funny thing Rich was telling me this morning. He says " Do you know April is our lucky month" I said what? He then tells me We met in April 1994, Moved to Boise in April 2007 for Rich's new job, Now, we are doing IVF in april. What do you think?????

Tonight Rich and I are cleaning house, packing and getting prepared for tomorrows first ultrasound. If I have to do HCG tomorrow we will head down to Reno tomorrow after my appointment. It is a 8 hour drive about for us, and will have to meet with the RE in Reno Thursday at the latest. No time to think it feels like.
