Thanks buckeye, She is having Braxton Hicks but only around one a day. I have already done the research on that so I know when it's time to see a doctor. The specialist didnt mention it being a big weight difference only that she was a dainty little girl and that they need to keep on eye on her weight.

Hello!

I am feeling more energy today but lately I've been so tired. The twins are doing well but they are pretty much newborns still since they were preemies. I am hoping they will be more interactive soon. Cannot wait until they smile etc... They will be 8 weeks next week.

Kim, thanks for the offer! You are so sweet! We do have Walmart about 20 mins on the highway and I am just too lazy to go out there. I hardly get out of my town and I don't even go to Seattle at all. I am glad you are feeling better. I switched Alyson's formula to more gentle one and she seems to be doing better. She is not grunting and straining as much now during sleep.

Kimberley - The way you wrote is pretty funny! Sean actually passes gas and says "bless you" (more like bushuu). I hope Bodie is sleeping better. The twins spend all their time in the living room for now and when we decide to move them to our bedroom, it's going to be interesting. Sean is a light sleeper, too, so I bought this thing called Sound Sleeper. It's a machine that makes white noises and I am hoping it would help buffer the noises of babies crying. Thanks for checking out the blog. It's fun and my friends and relatives love it, too.

Rebecca - you are doing a fabulous job carrying your twins past 36 weeks. I did not get that far and my twins were born at 34 weeks and 4 days. Their lungs were matured and they were able to suckle well so your babies, being older, should have good chances. Good luck!!

vickersx3 - my twin B, now Alyson, was smaller than her brother initially as well and was born about 5 ounces lighter. She's healthy though and now caught up t her brother. I've heard that it's common for a girl to be smaller than a boy. It's a good thing to take it easy anyhow! Good luck to you and your wife!

Quita, I am sorry about your DH's job situation. It must be very stressful and tough. I hope he can find something soon. Like you wrote, you've got your wonderful family and the rest of the things would work it self out. How are your babies? I remember my son was so cute around that age!

Woodcliff must have given birth maybe. Hope she's doing well.

Anyway, Noah should be waking up shortly for his night snack.

Take care!

Hey everyone! The server being down was a bummer. I felt like I had no phone to my twin world or something. Very strange! Although I have been very limited on my time to type lately. Hope all is well!

Kimi~ 8 weeks already!!! how does that happen??? I love going to your blog and seeing the new pics. Your sleep machine is something I used as a nanny. It realy worked for those babies especially since the older kids were screaming and playing because I used it during the day. The one thing I fear is making them dependent on it. Is Sean able to fall alseep easily w/o it? Just curious. Hope all continues to go well. How are the babies doing in your room? I went straight from the living room to the nursery so I never had that transition. Our master is so small that we would have been climbing on each other during the night. Good luck and hope you're getting more sleep.

Rebecca! Congratulations to you!!!! I do remember you but can't remember your specific story?? Do you know what you are having? Just curious??? Those u/s can be so far off. They thought my babies were over a pound bigger than they were. At 34 weeks mine were born at 4.10 and 4.13. They were pretty average but regardless of the weight it's great taht you made it to 36 weeks because now the lungs make surfactant and they most likely won't need NICU time. I prepared myself for the worst and hoped for the best. I wasn't upset by our 16 day stay int he NICU, 2 weeks of hospital bedrest, an emergency c-section, or my lack of weight gain. . . . I stayed focused on the positive and it really worked. The rule of thumb is that boys are weaker than the girls at first and babies under 5lbs. almost always need some help learnign how to feed and maintain their temp. The nice thing is that from where you are the babies at worst case scenario will simply have to learn a few things but would be fabulous otherwise if they aren't perfect right away. You are super lucky. Good job!!!!!! It's great to see you againg and I am thrilled for you and DH!!!!

Vickersx3~ Welcome and congrats to you!!! I have b/g twins myself and it's wonderful!!! Hopefully your mind will be more at ese when I tell you that mine measured like yours for a long time. They were only 3 oz. apart at birth but were always 5-8 oz. apart while I was pg. I don't know anything about the uterus thing but I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted please! We love new families. We get to relive our baby days thru you!!!

Kim~ Nice to know I'm not alone on the sperate room thing! We did put him back in his crib but last night he was a terror!!!!! So around 3:30 he got a refresher on what the office looks like! Can't say he liked it at all. He was getting better but then he was a wreck last night so go figure. I need to get that book that Quita suggested. Babywise isn't working for him. He gets so worked up that he wakes Annelise and is sweating like mad so he's all wet. Go figure! Are you still cold free??? Hope so!

We were suppose to be int eh mountains but my lack of sleep and Bodie's lack of sleep as well made me too scared to be somewhere far from home. Needless to say it looks beautiful up there on the mountain and I am stuck here! Bummer! I could be doing my taxes but I much prefer to chat with you guys! :D

Better run. . .I hear babies!
Take care~

hi there,

thanks for all your words of encouragement, i sometimes think the informtaion is so good these days that it throws you into a panic! I've got my head together now and hope to keep these babies cooking one more week and deliver at 37 on the dot (one week tomorrow...yikes!). Hopefully they're just small but healthy. We don't know what we're having - it's been so hard being disciplined and not asking but we wanted to keep it a suprise.

Kholtan, My story is similar to everyone's - 3 failed IUI's, followed by 4 IVF's/ISCI (one of which turned into an IUI).... 4th time lucky :) I live in Oregon and I remember (i think) that you're in Idaho. I think when we cycled it was my first or second try and you were a brick of support. I'm just so happy now to be joining you in the land of double trouble!

I've just been assembling my hospital bag (disorganised I know) and wanted to ask whether I should take my pump and nursing pillow? With my DH's stuff, mine and the babies we look like we're going on vacation for 2 weeks... in the films they seem to have a small bag ...am I over doing it??

I've been on the same thread as WC for the last 9 months and know she had her scheduled C section yesterday....assuming by now she has her little ones in her arms, can't wait to join her!

Hope you don't mind me crashing your thread but it is so useful to get advice from mummy's who've already been there.

Thanks again

Rebecca

Kimi--I had to chuckle when I read your post about girls being smaller....my Ellie is a TANK compared to her brother!  It's been that way since the 2nd u/s. (We didn't know he was there for the 1st one!) Good luck making it to Wal Mart!

Kimberly--so sorry to hear about Bodie's unsuccessful return to the nursery. Bummer. I hope the book will help! I have used the book, "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". It's been a good resource to me. Maybe that's another one to check out? And, yes, Braeden is STILL napping in our room. It's working, so I'm not changing a thing!

Rebecca--you're still here, yeah! So, Woodcliff already had her C-section? I can't wait to hear her news! As for the bag, I did NOT bring my pump or pillow. Honestly, I didn't need the pump until my milk came in, and I was home when that happened (oh, the memories of engorgement when I woke up!) As for the pillow, I had so many bed pillows to use, and the babies were so small, I didn't need it. But, do what works for you! Good luck making it one more week. YOU'VE DONE AWESOME!!

It stunk that the board was down. I hope they've got it fixed.

As for us, we're cold free (I'm knocking on wood!). We're crawling EVERYWHERE! And, Ellie is cruising all over the place. Braeden is pulling up to his knees, and he occassionally gets to a standing position. They're both babbling a ton. ANd, yes, Ma-ma is their FAVORITE word! I love them! :)

Thanks everyone. Just a quick update. We had another ultrasound last night and my boy gained another 7 ounces in 5 days bringing him to 1lb 15 ounces. My dainty little girl put on 4 ounces bringing her to 1lb 6 ounces. So there is a 1/2 lb difference and the doc said as long as they stay within a pound of each other, everything is fine.

Funny thing is we went to the Mother of Multiples sale and one of the moms there told me that her son weighed over 5lbs and the girl was just a little over 3lbs at birth.

vickers---glad the US went well! Good luck!

Lindsey--I'm assuming you had your NST by now...how'd it go? I remember those WELL....Braeden would always hide from the monitor...little stinker! Hope it went well!

HOw are the rest of you?

Woodcliff..I hope you're getting some sleep and enjoying your little babies! Can't wait to hear!

As for me, I have to have surgery tomorrow. My ovary is having some probs with a big CYST! Yuck! The doc said she "might" have to remove my ovary if there's too much damage. I pray that's not the case. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hi All,

My DH has left to go to Japan for business for a week. So far so good, but I probably would be exhausted tomorrow. My Mom and I have to somehow manage caring for Sean and the twns on our own. I wouldn't be able to nap as usual and it's going to be interesting. Lucky my Mom's still here. Mike told me that he's planning on another trip to India in July and I honestly cannot imagine taking care of three little kids by myself. Something I must get used to!

Kim, I hope your surgery went well. Do you have to stay in the hospital for a while? I hope you are as comfortable as can be, but of course any surgery is not exactly fun. Praying you don't have to part with your ovary! Wishing you a quick recovery, too. Your little girl is chubby wabby and she's really cute. Noah is getting so chunky that I call him my Sumo Wrestler. Alyson is slim but getting big as well. I cannot wait until the next appointment.

Kimberley - Nice weather in the NW huh? Tomorrow, it's supposed to be up to 70 F. I am hoping I have enough energy to take Sean out for a play outside. How's Bodie sleeping? So interesting each twin is so different. I check your blog, too, and enjoy getting updates in your world. I love the new pics of the kids, especially the one in diapers!! So cute!! And I love their nursery! Did you paint the wall yourself? I am thinking of hiring a mural artist for Sean's room. I just don't trust my art skills.

vickersx3 - glad everything is going well. Nice you are in touch with the multiple club already. I am yet to do so and I know I should. I am sure they are very resourceful and help you get the assistance and information you need.

Lindsay - I wished I looked at your post earler. NST is pretty easy and I actually fell asleep during mine. The babies kept moving abouts and the nurse had to change the position many times. Hope all went well!

Rebecca - Hang in there and good luck with the delivery! You must be getting so excited. It is surreal to hear their first cries. We are so lucky to have twins as it is truly special!

Hope you are having a good weekend. Wish me luck this week without DH. Quite jealous he gets to fly business class, stay in a nice hotel and eat fabulous food everyday!

Kim, good luck with the surgery, I wish you a speedy recovery and that you'll be home with your babies as soon as possible.

Kimi, thanks for the well wishes and good luck with your DH out of town. I love Japan and wish it were me!

So this is my last weekend before the twins and I am starting to get petrified. I'm also excited but suddenly this feels real and I am in a panic about everything, I'm sure that this is normal! scheduled for Monday morning 7:30am pacific time....yikes! any last minute tips?

For everyone in the NW (i'm in Oregon), enjoy the sun!

LADIES -- I FORGOT TO POST THIS TO YOU!!!!

Had my babies on Thurs April 3

4:13 p.m.-Boy, 6 pds, 6 oz
19.5 incheslong
4:14 p.m. girl 5 pds, 10 oz
18.5 inches long

Came out Yowling!!!!
GORGEOUS babies...37 weeks! NO NICU, NO issues...healthy buggers...
they are sooooooo adorable .

My husband has changed ALL the diapers, all dirty ones and he won't let me do anything but feed them, he has done everything ("You birthed them! It is my turn to do something!")

Th I had a scheduled OB appt, but woke up with high high BP, elephant trunk legs...so we headed to the hospital and checked in around 1:00, by 3:30 I was at the operating room...

Was put on Mag sulfate (YUK...makes you LOOPY) for 24 hrs...
Very sick for a day or two...
NOW I AM FINE

WE ARE SO IN LOVE WITH THE BABIES

Very easy babies.
My milk is not coming in too much, very sm amount but the babies suck then go to formula...I have needed my sleep quite a bit so do sleep for 5 hr stretches, or 6, as I have a night nanny...
LOVE THE BABIES
I am so relieved that they are out of my womb safely...and doing well...
Lots of gratitude to all of you for all of your tips
]
OH: My PERFECT NIGHT NANNY THAT I HIRED?
A NIGHTMARE...she is cold as ice...
My other night nannies are loving women ... but I signed a contract with SNOWBALL NANNY
HATE HER
she puts on white noise machines, sticks my newborns in vibrating boppies, and put pacifiers in their mouths.
I have NIXED all of those false stimulants, as has my Pediatrician...and she is just so b*tchy about it all.
I want to fire her but I have to honor the contract...she is UBER expensive.
I blame it on pregnancy hormones...

Woodcliff!

Congrats on your very healthy babies! Yeah, a boy and girl....you will love having a matched set! They had very healthy weights. Way to go mama!

Sorry to hear that the night nanny is a pain. BUT BUT BUT, count your blessings...you're very LUCKY to get 5 ot 6 hours of sleep. It took me weeks to get that! (So, yes, I had to resort to those horrible things like pacifiers and white noise to get my kiddos to sleep--shame on me! ) Don't worry, they'll be okay. Mine are very good sleepers despite my horrible ways! :D How long do you have to keep her? Do you need her? I hope your babies continue to be easy babies--what an extra blessing!

What are their names? We need pics! I know I miss seeing litle baby pics! Take care and post when you can.

Buckeye...thank you! They are so sweet...but it is amazing, even with extra sets of hands, how time flies...I could never do it right off the bat without tons of help...
the C-section took a lot out of me and I am still exhausted...I need the sleep and am grateful for night nannies ...
the "cold" one has turned a corner...she is still cold and barely acknowledges the babies as 'beings' ... but she is no longer trying to introduce 'high tech' or binkies...
and yes, if I were all alone I'd resort to ALL of Mary Poppins' tricks.
What I HATE is how cold she is...but my other nannies arrive, tell my babies they love them, and hold them as long as the babies need to be held...the b*tch nanny doesn't hold them except to burp or feed them...
good thing it's night and she is not here too often.

I'd post names and photos but I have a fear of public boards...I may email you names and photos if I can figure it out (!!)...I just hate that on public forums anyone can 'dog' or stalk you...I've had issues before with this...

Thank you sooo much for all of your help and advice...
I just need to feel better...getting out of pain, finally...just need my pre-pregnancy energy...
I have lost 45 pounds already...and it just keeps falling off...so happy ;)

Woodcliff,
Congratulations! The weight of the babies are great. You did a good job carrying them as long as you did.
Hope you recover from the C-section quickly. It took me a while to be able to move abouts normally.

Kim, How did your surgery go? I hope you are not in pain etc...

Rebecca, wish I were in Japan, too, but someday!

Will post more later.

Take care!

Woodcliff--glad she's easing up....how many nannies do you have? Do you have 2 per night? Has your milk come in yet? Oh, I have GREAT  memories of that! Way to go for losing 45 pounds ALREADY! Wow! I'm still working on my last 5-10 pounds. (I'm back to pre-preggo weight, but I want to slim down more) I don't blame you about posting pics, etc. It's easy to forget how many crazies are out there watching.

Tolbee--how you doing while DH is out of town? I hope you and your mom are holding down the fort okay... are you still bfing? Is it getting any better?

My surgery went okay. LUckily the cyst was manageably removed. I did have some endo on my ovary, which was probably the REAL cause of my pain. That's all gone now. Apparently, my endo came back FAST when I wasn't on BC after the babes were born. Hopefully I can keep it under control now. It was hard for the first two days post-op because I couldn't pick up the babies. Ellie, especially, was frustrated by this fact. But, now, I'm back to normal! :)

How are the rest of you gals? I feel like we should be having more babies around here soon? I've lost track....
