Anyone heard the song "I Would Die for That"? It's soooo sad.....wow!!! I got it off the blog of another IF patient, she just got a positive in the study :) YAY

Anyhow, don't watch it if you're sensitive to IVF songs...it's really sad. I have children and I still cried.

Indie - I do DNA research, and much of my work relies on evolutionary theory. I just mentioned more specifics so that it wouldn't seem I'm claiming medical expertise. No, we don't want to get into debates. Just ask my students! (teaching is my second job).

So, there's the way-too-logical part of my brain saying biologically and evolutionarily, I'm not the fittest person ever (though I am pretty darn fit physically), and there's the emotional side of my brain saying.... why not us?

LOL WhyNotUs :) I'm not up for debates, that's why I mentioned that. Sometimes on the Internet people take a question and think....oh no, here it goes LOL I figure if I have the right to believe in my Creator then someone definitely has the right to believe in theirs as well, I just always like to be clear on my understanding of what people do, I hate to assume. So do you professionally teach, or is it like a residency program where students in the same field learn from you? That's neat, either way.

Trust me, I'm the QUEEN of things that make people want to debate me, or atleast give me their 'opinion'. I homeschool, I have 3 adopted children that did not come without problems, I'm relying on IVF to add another child to my already 'large' family, I believe in breastfeeding, gave up my career to be a SAHM and the list goes on LOL So again, you'll hear no debates or sermons from me....I only do that in related groups LOL

Quick Update

Post by beccatx »

Wow knrjack- that's such good news on your follicles- you should be should be able to rest easy knowing that there will be many good ones and they can choose the very best and have some good ones to freeze.

I had my transfer and all went well- there were 2 of the 4 that clearly stood out at the ones to transfer. They were blastocysts and graded AB...the embryologist explained that they look at 2 different qualities- and they both got an A on one and a B on the other...she called them "excellent good" or "good excellent"..I was too excited. Another one is still being watched to see if it can be frozen tomorrow. The other one is "arrested development"- no good at all.

I am taking it easy and praying like crazy. Thanks Indie for sharing more good news. It's encouraging.

In my 2ww I will have lots of time and energy to pray for us all. :)

yay! That's great news, Beccatx. It is so great that you know both made it to blast! I guess I should find out if I have any that survived to freeze tomorrow, too. Take it easy.

I was surprised to see that my clinic wanted me to come in 10 days after the 3 day transfer (I thought it would be at least 14 days, esp. with a 3DT). Did your clinic schedule your blood test already?

Indie - no offense taken. Your list was too funny! I've been teaching at local colleges at night to help save up for this study. I enjoy it, but made more catering!

Well, you all won't have to hear my longwinded posts for awhile. Back to work tomorrow. Keep us posted on your progress, I need something to pass the 2ww (or 10 day wait!).

2ww...only 9 days???

Post by beccatx »

I was shocked when they scheduled my pg test for 9 days from today- Friday the 25th! I have never had a pregnancy test at a clinic, but I read everywhere "beta" and the letters BF that end with P or the N...I get that part + or -...not the rest! Also, what exactly does chemical pregnancy mean? Oh goodness- please keep me from googling every possible scenario in the next 9 days. I truly appreciate the communication here because it keeps me from doing other "research" that just worries me! Thank you for your kind support!

I was a 5 day transfer- I don't think they considered 3 day, so thank God it worked out.

Take care!

Hi all,
My god....Lupron is doing thr work.....I am sooooo irritated and angry and sad....again picking fights with DH...i think before this IVF I was learning to come to be in terms with my DH work schedule...well he just comes home to eat and sleep....he starts at 8.15 gets home at 7 watches tv for 30 mins..then off for a meeting in the study room...comes out at 9 and then off at 10 nuntil 12-1 at night.....I want him to talk to me and he dooes not have time.. I guess I am feeling it more..becoz my feeling swtich is on....I will be fine...

Lupron is giving me bad migranes...I had to take off today...just lost 200 dollars there.....I did not tell at work that I am doing this...I am a speech therapist....and I work for another speech therapist.....she herself has done 3 ivfs...and then got pregnant naturally...she now advices me to not to do ivf becoz god will give me one..if he plans to give me...naturally......anyway I cancelled my clients...one of them got upset....at that point I just lost it...I cried and cried...

I am struggling to sustain work with ivf.....I will have to take off again for a week after ET becoz..I work with kids..and sometimes I pick heavy stuff during therapy.....As it is DH with work and cooking and cleaning is too much.....

Indie...I appreciate that you do what you like to do....what exactly do you do...I am going to watch Oprah this Friday...where an expert is going to talk about job....the thing is I like my job but I am struggling to work and manage household...I cook a lot...almost everyday.....and after work I cook and cllean so no time for papework or read....then during the weekends...my DH wants me to tag along with him for everthing..including the yard work...I like that too..becoz that the only time I have with him...we washed cars last weekend...

Now...i cannot cut back on cooking...if I cut back on work..my dh will convieniently say that he got to work more...as I bring little....I also have to keep my house sqeeky clean becoz my DH hates dirty house...and he questions about what I did the whole day...and why didnt I find time to clean...very indirectly though.....the only help I get is to get the dishes done...once in three days...yesterday he mentioned that I watch TV a lot {truth only in the evening when he is working and I am cooking} and he has to pay 90 dollars per month for that...ahhhh....

well....I bitched a lot...feel better....I swear its LUPRON...

Becca...congrates...on day 5....AB trasfer...

Hi stressball

Post by beccatx »

I'm so sorry to hear you are really struggling with the lupron- I can promise you it doesn't get worse- in fact, for me, once I quit the pill and the lupron went down in dosage when I began Menopure and Follistim- I actually felt better! Almost no side effects- I will say I was tired a lot the whole time.

I hope DH and work situation improve....maybe saying to both- I'm going through alot on these meds and bear with me- sometimes we assume people understand our needs , but they don't. Your boss lady may be more understanding than you think and then you won't have to stress about lying or creating situations that you need off work.

I'm sorry- I stink at advice, but I am thinking of you!

Stress: Sorry for your moodiness and side effects on the Lupron. I'm not looking forward to those at all, I'm moody enough with PMS LOL I can't really help you with any job advice, when I did work I was a workaholic and HATED to take time off for anything. Sadly...once you have kids, you'll have to take off quite a bit (doctors appointments for their shots and checkups, when they are sick and can't go to daycare or school, when you're sick because they gave you their sickness...LOL). Once I had kids I was taking time off all the time, as hubby makes more than I do and so I was always the one that had to take the brunt of those things I listed above. Your job is a BIG one too, my oldest took speech therapy for years and his speech therapist had 2 children during all that...she was great but she always seemed so stressed, so I know it's got to be a tough job.

As far as the question as to what I do LOL, well nothing really. I'm up at the crack of dawn making breakfast for my kids, then we start school by 8 or 8:30. We're usually done with our 'together' work by 10 or so and then they are on their own doing other school work till lunch at noon. That gives me time to clean house (I have a weekly schedule) and catch up on phone calls...etc. After lunch we have quiet time for 1-2 hours, where they read or journal and I am on here :) usually, or again...catching up on chores. So again...not a whole lot of 'career' going on here :) I worked part time up until last year, so it's a BIG change for me :)

On the note of cooking and housework. I was trying to do it all on one day. It got too much for me so I made a schedule. I know I have to get that thing (or things) done that day before I sit down and get on the Internet, or do anything else 'relaxing'. It's worked out well for me, since I'm a person that is driven by results and a "goal". I know that when I'm done doing what needs to be done, I can go on to something I enjoy :) Cooking for a large family is another way I like to be organized. I try and sit down and print out a monthly calendar and then I plan breakfast, lunch and dinner on it. I make out my shopping list by that. It's actually worked out so well, since I break out the cook books when I make my monthly calendar and I have somthing 'new' every week. We all have way way too many cookbooks I'm sure that we never use LOL So again, it's come in handy, and makes shopping for groceries easier too, we usually shop for a month here...sometimes 2 weeks.

You have to figure out what works for you though....and try to relax and work out some 'shared' housework responsibility....you're going to be a mom soon and you'll have even more on you.

Becca: The BFP BFN means, BigFatPositive or BigFatNegative. And I find it odd that they are going to test you 9 days later too....hmmm? Maybe the trigger you used has a faster rate of leaving your system? I can't believe it'll be here in a week!!! WOW Do NOT worry about a chemical pregnancy or an ectopic or anything else that you'll come across. PMA, Positive Mental Attitude!!! Find something that keeps you busy, start a craft or make something that takes about 2 weeks....so you'll be pushing to get it done by the time your test comes up :) Remind me of all of this when I'm on the 2ww :)

WhyNotUs: What a well rounded person, catering too huh? I did wedding and party stuff for a long time, but then with the arrival of kids....that took a back seat to birthday cakes and planning LOL You can make a lot doing that though....but glad you took up teaching too...whatever it takes to get that study money :) Glad you're going to get back to work to pass the time....as far as in the evenings, hmmm? You could sew something? Practice a craft that you've always wanted to learn? Umm, finish something you started but haven't had time to finish? LOL, I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck during that 2ww. I had a dream last night that I was shopping for baby stuff and my husband said "well, buy it if you like it" and I said "nope, not until I find out for sure" LOL I already see so many things that are so CUTE...but again..holding off!

KNR: thinking of you.....hope you arrived safely and you're ready for that ER and ET!!!

Oh and PS :) JNIGRL is posting on the other fertility board now...the one with all those TX study participants. It looks like she starts Stims on 4/18...so tomorrow! You all should try to check in over there too...since you might find more people around you or even at the same clinic :)

http://forums.fertilitycommunity.com/vi ... tx-49.html

I like our smaller group though....I post over there but still I like knowing everyone here :) from day 1. Over there I'm the newbie and haven't really kept up with anyone.

Speaking of.....StayingPositive: How are your stims going?

Hey Girls. Just a quick check in while packing. Went in today and I have a ton more over 18 so they are waiting to get my blood results to make sure my Estradol is not over 5000.

monday was 3100
Wednesday was 3800
Today (thursday) Not sure but I am saying under 5000. If it is over I have to coast until it is below. AUGH.

OH OH OH. Also when I do the HCG I get to do it in the tummy. YEAH. Small needle. whoo hoo. She told me that if women are heavier they need to have it in the buttocks. So ofcourse I said I am not that fat yet? WHOOO HOOO> Just fluffy. he he.

I should get a call from the doc office anytime now. Pins an needles so we can head on our 7 hour drive to reno. This is this most anxious feeling in the world. ARGH.

I think at 11:30 if I don't hear anything I will call them. Is that jumping the gun.

They also don't want me taking my stimms (folistim/menopur) until they get my blood work back as well. THIS IS IT I TELL YA> he he.

Sorry about the me post girls. Check in a bit later tonight I hope. Thinking of you all.

KNR: YAY!!! I'm praying for under 5000 for ya! So what is 'fat' in their book LOL They told everyone in the shot class that we took it in the rump, just like PIO. I figured I'd would anyway, since I'm not 'skinny' but then the study won't let anyone in if they reach a certain BMI.

One more thing

Post by beccatx »

Stress- I also thought about my DH and he acts like a jerk (very quiet and short with me) when he's scared or worried...men don't handle their feelings as well as we do and often have no outlet so instead of opeing up, they shut up and then we take that retreat to be "jerkiness"...just a thought- maybe he's very concerned about all the iVF stuff and you being so stressed...?? :)
