Hi Shell,
Thought I'd start a new thread - I'm beginning to forget who I answered on what thread...

To answer your question, I'm fine. My second day of maternity leave and I'm finding it all a bit strange, but keeping occupied. Started having a good clearout, but trying not to rush it as I've got 10 weeks of this. lol.
Baby boy is still in breech I think as things are still being kicked that shouldn't be (if you know what I mean), but less today so maybe he's turning. Like you, I thought the first 12 weeks went on forever, and without work, the next 10 weeks may too, but the middle trimester has gone at some speed - I have to guiltily say it's been a bit of a relief that it has...

It must be even more exciting for you though with not knowing what you will have - I'm useless at suprises. I still think it's a girl for you. Have you got names on the ready?

I was just looking at the rollcall. How scary is it seeing our names creep up towards the top????
Take it easy

Hi Zoe,

Nice to hear from you, its all exciting isn't it. I know what you mean about just wanting the time to go quick. The thing is we wouldn't change being pregnant for the world but its just nice when you know its coming nearer to meeting your baby. I didn't realise you know what your having, I really was dying to find out but I thought no I won't I will let it be a surprise. The thing is I think I am having a girl but Lee thinks I am having a boy but we will find out in time.

I am getting into a little bit of a panic because my husband is a milkman and he goes to work at 03:00 in the mornings. I said to him well how about if I go into labour and your not there. He said for me to call him and it will take him about 30/45 to get home but in the meantime call and ambulance. I know you don't just have a pain and then have the baby but I would panic so much incase he missed the birth.

I have been thinking about names its all go, well for a girl we are on maybe Sharna Alice and for a boy Mitchell Jay but I am sure these could change. How about you?

Hope to hear from you soon.
Love
Shell.

Hello today Shell,
Had meant to reply sooner but had antenatal classes this morning - about labour today  !

Anyway, from what they keep saying, it's not worth getting into a tizz about your dh not being at home when you think you start labour - it seems that in most cases first timers go through many hours (oh joy-something to look forward to!) before the event - plenty of time for him to get back if he's out on his rounds...However, on saying that, I know what you mean. I'm lucky that Steve works from home a lot of the time - although it would just be our luck if he wasn't on the day!!! The midwife says the movies have a lot to answer to :D ! I saw your other post about the pains now - hopefully that'll be you on the way soon, and you don't have to endure too much of that first. I know my sis was about a day like that - mind you, everyone is different.

The names you have chosen sound really nice. I teach so it's difficult not to associate names with pupils :? Anyway, I like the ones you've picked and no horror stories to tell associated with them - hehehe. As for us, well once we knew he was a boy we stopped talking about it, then narrowed it to Finley Ross (a.k.a Fin) or Samuel Ross (a.k.a Sam). At the hospital last week when we had the scare we decided on Sam, so unless he doesn't look like one when he comes out, that's what he'll be!

Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye out for news!!!!! Keeping your breathing going! Take Care

Hi Zoe,

Nice to hear from you, well I am glad that the names I have chosen don't bring any dreaded thoughts to your head. Its right in what your saying, I love Aiden for a boy but Lee says he knows someone who is called Aiden and he was so naughty so he doesn't want that.

My friend come today and brought her 2 week old baby and he is lovely, he is only 6lb 4oz and he is just so tiny. I did have a hold of him but to be honest my bump was getting in the way and my baby was moving and he started crying. I said to Lee though when Kya was born Nephews daughter she was exactly the same when I held her she would cry and I think its something to do with my bump.

Have you had a good day today?

Hiya Shell,

Yeah, yesterday was good although I can see the days going to merge together!! Went to see a Degas exhibition but the appeal wasn't quite there standing listening to some old fart drone on and look at the floor... :(

My sister had her baby about 6 weeks ago and he was also quite small - 6lb 11, and when I held him, my bump would move - it was probably just the pressure, but I like to think that Sam was just saying 'hello'. :D

How are you feeling today. Have you still the pains? Or are they easing or worse?

Hi Zoe,

Nice to hear from you, well I was up at 08:00 waiting for the British Gas to come and bring my new tank which is supposed to be fitted this afternoon but they still haven't come yet and I tell you what I could just curl up in a ball and go back to sleep I feel shattered.

Zoe its lovely when you hold a baby and your bubs moves isn't it, I wonder if our babies can sense something. I am sure my friends baby could yesterday because he did cry but thats probably cus my belly kept sticking in the air and also its hard.

What was this exhibition all about then?

Well I don't feel so bad today, I did have some pains earlier but yet again they have gone off now. I am 39wks today and really thought baby would of been here by now, but at the end of the day he/she won't come until ready.

What you up to today?

Nice to hear from you .

39 weeks :D so exciting!!

Today? Not much doing - went to pizza hut and stuffed myself - very naughty!!! Well, we are all eat for at least two :D

Can't believe you're getting a boiler fitted - taking 'nesting' to the extreme isin't it? hahahaha. Typical they don't turn up when you want them too... Anyway, hope they've been by now and all's well...

The exhibition? just a load of paintings, but too many people and too hot in the gallery. Like you, would probably have felt better being curled up asleep - that's if I could sleep. Still having to sleep on my back as the maternity pillow I bought is not helping me be on my side any better, and I keep waking up with really bad earache in my right ear - it's the weirdest of things. Ah well, you've got 1 week, i've got 9.5... Then we'll both get no sleep!!!!! :D

Have a good evening!

Hi Zoe,

Well the tank did get fitted but he as caused me a little bit of work, he broke my toilet seat but I can get a new one and then he as knocked some paint off my bedroom door. The thing is I know its stuff that can be done but I can't be doing with the hassle etc.

I wasn't sure about the exhibition, no wonder you wouldn't be able to get into it if it was really hot in there. I think when your pg you do get hot more easier.

Well I thought it was happening yesterday I did have AF pains but then got up this morning and they have gone. I have my midwife appointment at 11:30 and I am going to mention how much pain I am in with my back and see what she as to say. I know I have just under a week left but I just feel very uncomfortable.

Zoe you will find those 9wks will soon fly by, I admit the last couple of weeks have dragged.

I don't know how you could use those pillows, people said to me to use a pillow but to be honest they made me more uncomfortable so I have got through my pg without one.

MMMM I love pizza!! I could just eat that now, yeah I know its not even 10:00, but I think I will go and do me a couple of crumpets with some dairylea spread or some meat on them ( I know I am weird)

:D Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, you said the 'c' word - crumpets! much better than pizza anyday! We've hust found crispy onions and are eating them with everything!!! :D

Can't believe the guy - workmen cause more hassle than they're worth - and you could def do without it at the mo. Ah well, at least it's done - another thing out the way for you...

I too had the midwife today and asked her about the pillow (Which I've decided is useless for sleeping on my side) but she sad as long as I'm propped up, my back is fine - my body will tell me when it's not. The good thing is all the results came back from after the bleed 2 weeks ago and there seems no infection so that's good. Also, no sugar in urine this time, but I've eaten no chocolate today

How did you get on with your appt? Think they should just put you out of your 'misery' and take you in now!!!

Not hearing yesterday, I honestly though it was the day!!!!

Just read your other thread - sorry you had such a crappy day - internals are always horrible, but at least you know SHE :D (or he :D ) is ok and that the wee head is down - do some shuggling and see if that'll shift the baby further  Your dh is right and I wouldn't worry about the labour pain - you'll deal with it in the way you have everything...

This weekend, me? well my furture sisiter-in-law is taking me to see a place she wants to hold the wedding in - that's about it really! I've decided I'm becoming a lazy cow after only a week off, but there you go?
What are you planning? or is it just a restful 'last' week???!!!!!

Take it easy anyway

Hi Zoe,

Your exactly right in what you say, that you cope with everything else, I never really thought I would be able to put myself through IVF and cope with it but I did so your right in what you say.

That will be nice that your going with your Sister in Law to be to have a look at this place, you should have a nice afternoon, just take it easy.

Well not really up to much to be honest, I have just got out the shower and have my hair tied up in a towel, I was just going to dry it but wanted to see if any other threads to look at.

I know what you mean about having time off, it gets to the stage you just don't want to do anything, I have to really push myself.

:P Lee is going to the football match this afternoon, then hopefully he will be taking me for a meal tonight a nice Indian but we will see. :P

Hiya Shell,

How are you this morning? Was just wondering if you went for your hot curry and if it did the trick? :D !

Well, the place for the wedding is amazing - a very old kirk that's been reroofed - plenty of atmosphere, rambling walls, no heating etc and lit by candle...

So, what's the plan for today? My aim is to find a swimming costume... :? Nothing like looking like a beached whale...

Hi Zoe,

Well I am still here

The curry didn't do the trick, never mind, not feeling so bad today, my back ache is still there but not as bad as it was so wondering if these antibotics could be clearing it up. How are you? Well I ain't up to much today to be honest, I have some ironing to do and washer is on at the minute drying some stuff, lazing round still in my pj's but there we go never mind.

Well good luck with finding your costume, I have one but I couldn't even fit my leg in it.

The place for the wedding sounds absolutely lovely :D candles etc... how romantic.

Well not had crumpets today, I had hot cross buns but the crumpets win every day!! compared to anything else!!
