Samara, you and everyone else has been super. Btw, the title of this thread was meant to be about UltraSound, not about US! Just thought I'd point that out. Otherwise, it'd look pretty self-serving.
Now, this IS pretty self-serving.
Stats from yesterday compared to today.
Tuesday:
7 follicles on the left. 18.5, 18.2, 15.8, 17.8, 9.3, 11.7
3 on the right. 15.7, 13.6, 14.8.
Lining at 12.4 mm.
Estrogen level 1,625.
Today
8 follicles on the left. 21.5, 13.1, 17.1, 17.9, 21.5, 14.1, 11.1, 9.2
3 on the left. 18.3, 19.3, 23.6
Lining at 11.4 mm.
Estrogen level later today.
I asked why the lining thinned a bit and they said that's natural as we get closer and it looks very good.
The follicles look very good and sufficient in number. The doctor was really happy and said it was a very good cycle thus far.
TRIGGER TONIGHT!
Retrieval Friday morning and transfer on Monday. Definitely a 3 day transfer from what we're being told. He said that they have great success with them, etc.
Oh, one strange thing. I thought that I had to abstain from 3-5 days, but one of the nurses told us to have intercourse tonight, so that my sample would be free of infection once I come off the Doxy. I'm going to confirm this with our RN when she calls us this afternoon with the trigger time.
So, that's it. Thanks for all the support ladies. God Bless you all in your efforts to conceive.
***I DID tell the doctor, who is just amazing, about this website and he was laughing that I would be just another one of "the girls"! It was funny..***
Jim, you are officially "one of the girls". We don't let many people into the secret clan. You should feel very lucky.
My husband is always told to ejaculate the same night as the trigger. He also thought he had to abstain, but no. They want a fresh sample. I am surprised they told you to have intercourse. I am told (in large, bold font) to "Abstain from intercourse while taking FSH".
The stats all sound great. I hope you get a civilised trigger hour. Mine have ranged from 8:30pm to 1:30am . Of course, I sit up like someone on death row afraid to go to sleep in case I sleep through the three alarm clocks I have set.
I would go with a day 3 transfer if your clinic success rates are best for this transfer day.

Okay. ER was just 3 hours ago. 12 eggs and I did my thing as well. It was hysterical seeing her come out of the anaesthesia. I told her it was 12 egss and she says "lovey, I'm a chicken!"
Both doctors talked to us for about 10 minutes each. Let's see how the fertilization goes and what report we get back tomorrow afternoon.
She's resting, watching tv, having breakfast and I am on call!
Thanks for the support. Actually, it was 12 eggs and I have a question about this. I'm aware it's quality and not quantity when it comes to egg production. (cage free-farm fresh)
But, does 12 seem like too few? I bet 9 of those 12 are 18mm and the others are around 10-15mm. She was just watching a show when we got home on IVF and the doctor apparently said 12 eggs isn't a lot. Funny the girl on the show had 12 too.
Oh, sorry, about getting the number of eggs wrong. I fixed that!
I'll give you my opinion. There is a lot of variability in number of eggs. I think 12 is good. I found one clinic that posts their average number of eggs collected. For women under 35, it's 10.3. So 12 is above average. It'll drive you crazy if you think about each step too much. 12 is a good number. Be happy about that get ready for the transfer!
Good luck. I'm thinking about you and your wife.
Me 34, DH 33

Okay, we had the 3 day transfer a couple of hours ago. They were both 8 cells and assisted hatching was used because the shell was a bit thick. Continuing the progesterone injections tonight and going forward.
I know we did all we could. It's in God's Hands now.
