Low progesterone? Help or advice please

Post by Melo_P »

Does anyone have any relative or relevant information on their progesterone levels in early pregnancy?

I had a natural cycle bfp but - after my latest Beta test I am now getting a little worried.

My HCG looks fine (80 at 14 dpo, 330 at 18 dpo, 3200 at 24 dpo) but the nurse mentioned the progesterone level was a little lower than she had expected.

It's 47 at 24 dpo, this time at my previous pregnancy it was up at 70 - hence the nurses comments.

They said over 30 is fine, but I can't help worrying - I know the clinic don't and won't recommend using any supplements because they think its too late to change outcomes at this stage.

Does anyone have any info on whether this looks too low? I can't bear the thought of losing this pregnancy now

thanks

Mel

Melo-
I don't know if you got my other post- I forget which thread it was on. Anyway, I went through EXACTLY what you are going through now, worrying about progesterone levels. AND, I also remember that the nurse at the IVF center said "Oh... your level is ONLY 40-something". It's a WONDERFUL level, but I was petrified since other women were claiming levels that were much higher. Then I spoke with my sister who told me that in her last (natural) pregnancy, she was put on prog. supplements because her progesterone levels (at the beginning stages) were in the single digits. She has a gorgeous 5 year old daughter to show for it now. As for my own experience, I was also PETRIFIED when they told me to stop the prog. supplements altogether, fearing that my body wouldn't produce enough prog. to support the pregnancy. Lo and behold, I am nearly 24 weeks along now. PLEASE stop worrying. Forget that silly nurse.

Hope this helps! Breathe, relax, and enjoy your pregnancy. And big congratulations!
