Hi Joanie,

Wow, another beta? Are they worried about you? Your numbers seem awesome! When do they release you to your OB?

I am doing fine, thanks for asking. I think I am scared to start again. I don't want to go thru another negative. But, I will get moving on it, soon..maybe this summer..or late summer...or early fall..lol :) I know I am not getting any younger!

How are you feeling?
Have you broke the news to anyone (except your work people?)

Beth,

No, they aren't worried. In fact, they said that I have the best betas in the clinic this cycle. This is just his protocol. Oh, by the way, my next beta is the 17th not the 13th (tomorrow) and then the ultrasound is the 24th. When you did your first beta after your first ivf how long did they have you continue your medication after you receive a positive beta. Oh, and my RE is extremely competitive he has compared himself to other RE's almost everytime I have talked to him. He doesn't mention names though. So I can see him really wanting to make sure everything is cool before anyone else gets to see me.

It is understandable to be nervous. When I started my second cycle, I didn't even want to talk about it. My husband and I didn't even talk about it much and I was even saving money for the next one expecting that this one wouldn't work. I guess we didn't want to get our hopes up to high.

I even started going to a homeopathic practitioner shortly after my first cycle and I think it helped me mentally. It prepared me for the next cycle.

Hey Joanie,

Another beta today? I won't even wish you luck, you don't need it!! :D
As far as meds, I really don't remember, I think it was at least a month after the first positive beta, maybe a month and a half? they had to wean me off of the PIO and estrogen patches slowly.

That's good your RE is competitive! And thorough!

So what does the homeopathic practitioner do for you exactly? was it worth it?
You must be so anxious for your u/s....

My betas were great yesterday. Of course, I was still nervous to hear the results.

My homeopathic practitioner really helped. At the initial visit we just sat and talked about every ailment I've ever had and my emotional state. From there she gave me a remedy which is energy based and it helped me with my state of mind a lot. It's hard to explain. I feel that it was worth it especially when I went through my FET...it helped me from not having so many negative thoughts. Oh, and, maybe the pineapple helped too.

hey Joanie,

The practitioner sounds interesting...what made you decide to do that?
I guess it helped you, right?! (and of course it was the pineapple!!)
I just want to wish you all the luck in the world for a nice, happy, healthy pregnancy. Enjoy every minute of it!
I think I am going to sign off of the board for a while, until I can decide what the heck I am going to do next.
I'll try to check in on you now and then...are you posting any where else?
Good luck with your scan next week, and have a happy Easter.
You are in my thoughts!! :)

Beth,

Best of luck. I will be thinking of you and thanks for all of your support. I am posting on another thread but I like posting with you because it's just me and you. I have a short attention span so it is hard for me to keep up with everyone on the thread.

I will miss you though and I understand.

Beth,

When do you think AF is going to come? My AF isn't all that regular so I always had a range of days to look at.

Anyways, the U/S went wonderfully. I have had 2 already and I have another on Monday coming up and then I can finally be released and stop taking all of this medication by the end of next week. I am so happy.

I am sooo nervous everytime I have an U/S that my blood pressure goes up sky high, but when I get home it goes back down.

Hey Joanie,

How did your ultrasound go? What were you able to see this time?
are you saving the pictures?
It's exciting to be able to stop all the meds, isn't it??

How are you feeling these days?

AF arrived...I am on BCP now, and for a while! Just got all my meds today, and thought, "here we go again!" They aren't as intimidating the second time around. I am on a slightly different protocol this time around...not sure why. Maybe cuz I am older? It's not too much different, but I am not sure why it would change at all.
So, I am on track for the beginning of June!
Yay!

Cool, when is the retrieval? How are you feeling inside?

I got to see a lot of growth and I am 12 weeks and some change. Of course we get to see (3) heartbeats and measure their rates. Oh and we got to see the placenta. My doctor said that I would be done with him but I talked to him on the phone and now we have to go back May 5. Didn't even think to ask why until now while I am typing to you. I will call on Monday to see why.

Yay! 12 weeks along! You are just about done with your first trimester!!

wait a minute....

you said 3 heartbeats??? as in triplets?

Did you find out why you have to go back? Do you have a regular OB?

I am really feeling fine about it. If we get another BFN, I think I will be done. I am calm about this cycle, but I don't think I want to do it again.
I also think we aren't going to freeze any this time either. So basically this is it!

hope you had a nice relaxing weekend.

That is good that you are calm. Just don't forget the pineapple. Oh and what is this that I hear about brazil nuts helping with implantation.

I didn't find out yet. I have been so busy that I didn't realize how close it is to the month of May. I am getting referred to a specialist and haven't met him yet.
