Hi ladies! I told Neffi I would post here if she started this thread so here I am! I am also on my third cycle - have not yet made it to ET but I am hoping this is the time! Only 2 days left of bcp and then wait for AF, I am hoping stims will start by the weekend or early next week. I am making an effort to stay positive, but I have had so much bad news in the last cycles that it is hard. I am starting acupuncture again tomorrow so hopefully that will help.

IrishHope - good to see you again too - we were on the Feb/Mar thread together.

kyw - I definitely have seen your name around too. Hopefully this will be a good cycle for all of us!

Take care and much baby dust!

Hey Neffi211! Regarding the change in my protocol, during my last 2 cycles, I was on Lupron. During the 1st cycle, the Lupron suppressed my ovaries too much and out of 11 eggs retrieved, only 3 were mature. None of the 3 made it beyond 6 cells and I got a BFN. During the 2nd cycle, they decreased my Lupron, but had to increase my Gonal F midway into the cycle, because my estrogen was low. I ended up with more mature eggs and several made it to 7 cells, but still got a BFN. With this upcoming cycle, my doctor is changing me from Lupron to Ganirelix and increasing my Gonal F. My doctor is also proposing transfering 3 embryos instead of 2. Hopefully, this cycle will be successful.
Me - 38, DH - 40 (male factor)
1st IVF - 1/08 - BFN
2nd IVF - 3/08 - BFN
3rd IVF -5/08- BFP - THANK YOU GOD!!!

Hi Girls!
This looks like the thread to join.
I'm on my second go around & feel like a walking experiment.
First time I got 7, 6 fertilized but none of them grew very well & I had to do PGD because of my age. None of them ended up being good enough to transfer.

Soooo, I've been doing acupuncture & Chinese herbs for 3 months to get my egg quality up. My FSH is much lower & I feel great so we'll see. I'm excited, but nervous.

I finish BCP this Friday 25th, ER May 12th or 13th, 5 day transfer 17th or 18th.

Whew....off we go :D

Hi all - i thought maybe I would join this thread as well. depending on AF I will either go in June/July but we are taking May off just to make sure we know how much $$ we have left in insurance and for a little sanity. We are going on vacation that end of May so who knows what will happen.

I too am going to try acupuncture this time. I was so stressed out in march, it all went so fast that I didn't have time to think. I also just started a new job last Nov and was worried about calling out sick and leaving for drs. appts. I don't want to give a bad impression. i also have not told anyone at work which makes me worried about what they would think. I could not stop my lower right eyelid from twinking. it was crazy!! I was sitting in bed after ET trying to watch TV and all it did was twink, so my focus on my next cycle is relaxation techiques and stess relieve. Lucky, my boss has been understanding and with this little break I am hoping it will calm any suspicions, yea right

Oh and as you can see DH and I are part of the MF group too, so i came to the right place

Babydust and wishes too all!!!

Hi guys, I went for my first US yesterday. It looks like ET will be approx 8th May.

Rinnie - I am curious, what was your FSH level? Mine at the last testing was 18 - which is why the NHS would not touch me and I had to go private.
Quite high for someone who is 33!

Good night from Blighty

Hi everyone! I had acupuncture today and it felt great - I am really in need of some PMA and I am hoping that helps. I also sort of use my acupuncturist as a therapist - we always talk at the beginning of each session so I have to fill her in on all my issues - both physical and mental. She doesn't say much but it's nice to get it out!

Thankfully I take my last bcp tonight - I swear they were making me super moody this time. I had ovarian drilling surgery and I don't know if it was some chemical/hormone that was released in the surgery and didn't mix well with bcp or what (or if it was all in my head!), but I am glad to be off of them!

We have both male and female factor - at least we are both messed up!! DH has really high levels of ASA (anti sperm antibody) which apparently makes it difficult for the sperm to penetrate the egg. He also has low morphology but RE said that alone would not necessitate IVF. He has been a trooper and has cut WAY back on caffeine (he's a coffee addict) so his morphology should actually be better by now, but because of the ASA issue we still do ICSI. Things are never easy!!

Have a good night!

Kyw - Wow! May 8th will be here before you know it! Good luck!

LB - I hear you on using your acupuncturist as a psuedo therapist! Glad the acupuncture is providing some stress relief for you...

BichonMom - Welcome! Hopefully the stress will be less this time - I think the first time is stressful and the entire process is lets face it - stressful but lets pray the second time is not so bad - no more eye twitching!

Rinnie - WOW I think the chinese medicine definately is worth it...glad you feel so great! You are getting closer too...Good luck!

Neffi211 - I'm w/ you - Waiting - Waiting - Waiting...

Take care all - I'll check in here and there but won't have much to report for another week or so!

If I missed anyone I apologize - have to get back to work!

Hello Everyone! I'm getting ready to start my first IVF cycle, and would love to join your thread. DH (34) and I (31) got to this point pretty quickly...we had been TTC for about 1 year, but I kept using ovulation test kits, and they would never go positive! Met with our RE, and she diagnosed with MF Infertility and PCOS. We are going directly to IVF with ICSI and staying optimistic!

I got my meds today (what a big box that was from Fed Ex!), and will be starting Lupron next Wednesday. We have an appointment that day for training on the shots and also for a mock transfer.

All of your posts about accupuncture are really making me think. I'm worried that work-related stress and anxiety about this whole process is going to affect my success. I'm also thinking about taking an LOA from work...but not sure we can afford for me to do that. Is AP expensive? Does insurance sometimes cover it? Our insurance does not cover any of our IF treatments, so I'd be shocked if AP was covered. Is it best to start AP long before starting IVF? Are there benefits to starting at the beginning of a cycle?

Looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you and to celebrating many BFPs over the course of the next couple of months!

MAY/JUNE CYCLE BUDDIES!!

Post by angram »

Hi everyone - I know some of you from the March/April thread and hope we get to stay on this thread for 9 wonderful months :) DH and I just got back from a relaxing week in Cabo and now we're waiting for AF to arrive in a little over a week, so I can start BCP's again. Don't have anything going on until then, but wanted to say hello and wish everyone the best!

Hi Neffi and IrishHope, hope all is well. Hoping I'm just a few days behind you Neffi, should start BCP's around May 5th or so.

Hello ladies,
It is morning here in the uk, I think middle of the night for most of you guys.

Hello to all of you who have just joined the thread. I am still half asleep so am going to be brief (can't get on this site at work much and DH thinks I become obsessed with it!)

Only 4 more days till my next scan and then I shall officially know ET date.

Adsgirl - I took a LOA from work first time (my doctor signed me off sick) and it did help with the stress levels. I spent a month in London living with my sister and going to my appts.
I am like you and only ttc for one year and we also have double whammy like LB. DH has MF and I have High FSH (18)

Acupuncture is also supposed to help with mainitaining the lining of the womb after transfer so am going to try it for that this time to help it to stick!!!!!

SO.............angram, neffi, adsgirl, irishhope, LB, biochonmom, rinnie, imblessed and faith...............lots of baby dust to us all!!!
