Good morning everyone! Well, I called around and found what seems to be a good, professional acupuncture clinic. I talked to my DH about it, and even though I thought he would be skeptical, he was totally supportive. Not sure when I'll start or how often I'll go, but I plan to meet with them Monday to discuss.

I'mBlessed and IrishHope...it looks like we will be going through on about the same schedule. I start Lupron on April 30th. Not on BCPs, though, so who knows how long it will take for AF to show. Hopefully the Metformin is helping and she will be close to on time! If so, ER will be around 5/22 and ET around 5/25 or 5/27.

KYW - Thanks for letting me know you took an LOA...the more I think about it, the more I think it's the right thing for me. I don't want anyone at work to know what's going on, and getting out of all of the travel is going to be difficult without looking like a slacker. I'd rather not be bothered, so I plan to talk to my RE about that.

J&C - Congrats on the BFP!!

Hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing day!

Good morning everyone! I don't know about where all of you are, but it is beautiful here which is greatly helping my mood. Plus, no more bcp and just waiting for AF to show - hopefully tomorrow.

Adsgirl - DH and I actually never really "tried" to conceive, but it's been about a year since our saga began. We decided to start trying last April, so I went off the pill in Jan and AF never came, so I could never track my cycle to find my fertile time. It turns out I have severe PCOS and I don't ovulate on my own, which is why I have never had to be put on Lupron. I also had blocked tubes but they were able to open those. So in this crazy year we found out we both had issues and I am on my third IVF cycle and have had 2 laproscopic surgeries. We only found out we needed IVF in October, so things have moved pretty quickly. No wonder I am a nut case!!

Acupuncture definitely helps with the stress. I am an attorney, so some days are worse than others. But I switched jobs in August and my new job is much more low pressure - I could not have gone through this at my old firm. And I did tell the partner I work for what is going on because I am out a lot or in late for appts - he has been so supportive! I didn't check to see if insurance covered acupuncture since our IVF is covered (DH's firm is based out of MA so we have BC/BS of Mass, DE wouldn't cover anything) and I didn't want to press my luck. Mine is $85 a pop - steep but worth it if it helps!

Have a great day - the office is going out for Mexican today for Administrative Assistant's day (a day late) and I am counting the minutes!!

AdsGirl - Welcome! I look forward to cycling so close...you may be a few days ahead of me but so much does depend on when the "witch" appears...

LB - Totally hear you on the weather helping...it is nice to see sun and open a window...BCBS of MA is great for fertility coverage I've heard...Enjoy your Mexican lunch!

Our next hurdle is telling my in laws this wknd we are not going to a family wedding in Chicago Memorial Day wknd - they have been so excited to have my DH and all the family together at this but my E/R and E/T are right smack the wknd of the wedding (most likely)...they know nothing of our IF and I don't want to tell them alot but we are going to have to let them in a little bit since they would be mad if we just said "we are not going"...so that is this week's hurdle...

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to this message board -- mind if I join your thread? I'm SO glad I found this thread. Two days ago I got the call from my clinic that my first IVF cycle resulted in a BFN. I cried and felt sorry for myself but today went back in to start again. This will be my second fresh IVF cycle.

My DH has male infertility. I'm 38 and he's 50, and we live in DC. I believe I will start BCP soon and then hop back on with Lurpon and then the stims.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi all - looks like everyone is well!!

Neffi211 - I live in Douglassville, which from you is east of Reading. i interviewed for a job about a year ago at Armstrong out in Lancaster. it was about an 1 hour from me. I love Lancaster...especially intercourse (yes that is the real name   ) and of course the outlets!! I hope you are enjoying the beach!!

Well my eye for some strange reason started twinking again for some reason!! I am not sure what exactly I am stressed out about but I have a feeling is $$. DH screwed up with the taxes and was taking too many exemptions so we ended up paying $7000. Soooo I am sure that's what's going on. I can't wait to start the acupuncture!!

faith88- welcome! I am going to do my second fresh IVF hopefully June all depends on AF. I am waiting for her to show now. I think this weekend, but it would be so nice not to see her for another 8 months

Irish - good luck with the in-laws!!

to everyone else, hope all is well!

Room for one more? I hope so...Y'all sound fun.

DH and I are preparing for our first IVF cycle. I had a miscarriage in late 2006 and despite calendars, ovulation kits, meditation cds, yoga, a bizarre fertility diet and several panicky calls to my husband's office..."GET HOME NOW!!!!! I AM ABOUT TO OVULATE!" we haven't managed to start the launch sequence again. After the battery of fertility tests (those are FUN, aren't they?), DH was diagnosed with male factor infertility--low and slow.

Anyway, I am on bcps and return to my RE on 5/6 to get my plan. I would love to have some pals to compare notes with.

Have a great evening, girls!

Hi everyone! I am new to the site and glad there is a group to share with...this will be the first IF treatment for me..not sure what to expect and am nervous/anxious/excited...we have been trying for over a year and recently found out hubby had low count and morphology. I am waiting for AF (hopefully May 1st) so I can start BCP's...if all timing goes well my ER would be June 11 and ET would be somewhere around June 15...

Welcome Faith88, Formaggie, and Queenie77!

Queenie77 - I remember when I started my first cycle, I felt the same as you.......nervous, anxious, and excited. Now, that I'm on my third cycle, everything is routine. After having 2 BFN's, I've learned to just take the whole process one day at a time. I know we'll all be successful when it's our time.

Faith88 - I live close to DC. Where do you go for your IVF treatment? I go to Shady Grove.

Good Morning!

Welcome to the newbies! ForMaggie and Queenie - this is my first cycle, too. I'm very anxious to get started next week on the Lupron and be on my way to a BFP. I think I'm most nervous about the meds...and also about being too stressed or tense for my IVF to be successful...so I'm meeting with an acupuncturist on Monday and hoping to take some time off of work. So sorry to hear about all the MCs on the board...hopefully we will all be successful in May/June!

Sounds like we have several east coasters on the board. I was living in NJ up until last year, but now have transplanted to WI. Where's everyone else?

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Thanks for the welcome, IMBlessed! Like Queenie77, I am a touch anxious about the process. That pregnyl injection looks downright terrifying! And to be truthful, I have never been that brave. But, as was demostrated on many of the other cycle buddy blogs...the end justifies the means.

I am hoping, in a few weeks time, that this thread snows BFPs!

Hi AdsGirl! Or should I say JerseyAdsGirl? Glad to have another Garden Stater on the thread! I live in Oradell (Northern New Jersey).

I am with you on the stress thing. Frankly, I am out of my mind. Alot of people on previous blogs have had great success with accupuncture. Good luck. Personally, I can't justify sticking even more needles in my body! :D

Thanks for the warm welcome! So glad I found this thread.

IMBlessed - I live in Northern Virginia and go to Columbia Fertility Associates. Shady Grove is supposed to be really good. In fact, my good friend is 7 mos pregnant from IVF at Shady Grove. Is this your first IVF cycle? Where do you live? (loving this weather we've had lately!)

To the Jersey crew and the new IVFers, giving yourself the shots, I found, is kinda cool. I felt like a chemist, mixing and stirring drugs. It's not bad at all and even kind of fun! The most difficult part for me was moving around when the stims start to kick in. It feels like you're about to burst. that means you get to do a lot of resting an pampering yourselves. :)

AFM, I heard from my nurse yesterday, and I will start my Lupron shots on May 7th, start my stims around May 17th, and go in for my egg retrieval (ER) around Memorial Day. Anyone else cycling around then?

STICKY BABY dust to everyone!! :)

Don't tease me with talk of lovely weather.

It is horrible in the UK - raining one minute, then sunshine and then hail! It is crazy!

Welcome to all the newbies. It is scary the first time. I also found it so and I work in the health service. It is nice to have something to do though, our DH's just have to stand on the sidelines and watch. I know my DH found that really hard and felt incredibly guilty that he could do nothing to ease it.

kyw, I got a BFN a few days ago. It devastated me. i would like to hear what your opinion is on how many cycles one should try before throwing in the towel. I've read that it takes on average 3 - 4 cycles to get a BFP. Have you heard that? My DH also has low mobility, motility, and morphology. I wonder if that's a factor, however, after they transfer a healthy embryo into the uterus?

Faith
PS LOVE the UK!!
