Cloth diapers

Post by jen8675309 »

Hi Mommies!

I am preggers with twins due in November and I am researching cloth diapers. Do you have experience with cloth diapers? Which brand/kind would you recommend? I don't want to get the kind that you have to safety pin, I would rather get elastic or velcro, if possible.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hi Jen! Congrats on the pregnancy and twins :D :D When I was pregnant I was all for cloth diapers..we bought a brand available here in Europe - to be honest can't remember but they had the velcro closures...anyway the sales lady recommended that I only buy a few because it is an expensive investment - she said have a few on hand for when the baby arrives but also buy disposable to have on hand...well with just one baby I could not even imagine doing cloth! I never even opened the packaging to the cloth diapers. So before you invest alot of money - just buy a couple and if you use them great - you can buy more.

All the best!

I have about 4 dozen of the snap closure kind that I would gladly sell you. There isn't a single stain on any of them and they were EXPENSIVE!!! I have some covers as well. I also had twins and they were handy around home but I always use regular diapers out and about. Mine are the 8-15 lbs. size and they snaps adjust accordingly.

Let me know if you are intersed. If not I am selling them at our twin sale this fall.

Best of luck to you! Twins are sooooooo amazing!!!! Congratulations and come join "Double Trouble". There are lots of twin mommmies to probe for info!

Cloth diapers also tend to be able to train their children more quickly. Because cloth diapers do not absorb moisture additives, children quickly realize when wet and more receptive to training. Babies in cloth diapers tend to be transformed into a diaper faster because parents can tell when the diaper is wet, leading to the eruption of less irritation.

I agree, I used cloth with both mine, they were both potty trained before 2. I made my own, it's not to tough, I never sewed before I did it and they only cost 3 dollars a piece. There are many sites that can help and tutorials online. I could give you some suggestions if anyone is interested. Also it seems tough but once you are used to it it's not really a big deal. Plus I saved tons of money!

I use cloth diapers with my twins. I waited until they were each 8 lbs and havent looked back since. I use prefolds and covers. I have some All in ones but I dont like them as well. There are lots of brands out there but personally I use Kawaii covers. They are rather inexpensive at about 4.50 each but work better than some of the more expensive ones that I have purchased. Good luck and congrats on the twins! My two are the best thing ever happened to me!!
