Kimmy - When I read your message, I was wondering where you were going to be cycling to, then I realized you didn't mean on a bike!! My RE is at Aurora Fertility Services - they are located at the West Allis Memorial Hospital and are wonderful. Highly recommended and only about 10 minutes from Brookfield. PM me if you would like specifics...

Formaggie and Karen, thanks for the advice on cycle numbers. I like the idea of talking it out with DH beforehand. Karen I loved the word trolleyed for drunk -- hope you don't mind if we yanks borrow it. :)

As for the "friends with good news!" issue, I know it's difficult. I fear my friends are at the point where they tiptoe around the issue with me, and I don't want that. It helps if I try to put my own situation out of my mind and remember that some day it will happen for me too. Also, I find that when I'm with my friends with babies or kids, I try to learn from them what it's like to be a mom since I have no kids. I know that's probably not that helpful, because no matter how you slice it, it's hard. Period. The worst part is that I am convinced that most people do not understand. For me the hardest part is EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE, sharing a story about "a friend" who tried and tried for years and when she stopped trying she got pregnant. I want to say "THAT"S BS!!" But i don't. Or i wouldn't have any more friends who share success stories with me. :) I would just be a lonely woman giving myself shots and pretending to be a chemist. :)

It's a beautiful day here in Northern Virginia -- I hope everyone has a great weekend with lots of sticky baby dust to all!!

Wow...I went away for a couple of days & the board lit up!

Kyw
I think you asked me way back about my FSH. I haven't been lower than 10.16 over the last year, but after 3 mo of the Chinese herbs & acupuncture it was 6.4. Pretty amazing, so I'm hoping that's a good sign :)

And a drink....whaaat's that? I have been so good the last couple of months. No alcohol, no caffeine (I read that any caffeine cuts fert 50%!) & eating really well. I'm going to have good quality eggs if it kills me.

I just stopped bcp last night & I'm doing the flare protocol...start Lupron Monday night & stims Wed.

Faith My menopur makes me feel like the chemist. I didn't mind any of the shots, the trigger was easy, but the progesterone bothered me. I always had a sore bum & tried everything from heat pads to rubbing to walking around....sore sore sore.

ForMaggie I'm somewhat lucky with the friends, as i have a few who haven't had kids yet. I guess it's California...everyone seems to wait. I've told a couple of people, but keeping pretty quiet otherwise.
So if this whole process doesn't work at all, I'll be in trouble...but it's going to work!! :)

Lots of babydust everyone!!

HELLO ALL - I've been off for a day or two and WOW lots of newcomers! So a big WELCOME to this thread...it's going to be a good one I can tell and lots of BFP!

As for the dealing w/ friends etc. I have not been out w/ my DH "group" for a while during my first cycle as all the wives constantly talk babies! So last night I met Dh and one of his buddies for a few beers...thinking it was safe...a few other buddies came in one whose wife is due 4/28 and he announced another buddy of DH is expecting #2...I SWEAR all my DH friends wives either just had a baby, or are pregnant! I left after 2 boozes and cried myself to sleep...today my poor acupuncturist got the last of the tears...

For all the first time IVFers - honestly the box of meds looks worse than it really is...once you start you will see the shots are not so bad and you feel one step closer to a BFP everyday! It is sick but I would rather be getting shots than the waiting for AF etc. to start...so good luck and be sure to be good to yourself!

It's nice here in Boston but cold weather due back soon!
Have a good night all....

I was hoping I could join your thread. I am about to start a second fresh cycle. It has been a long road but hoping the end is in sight. We have had 4 m/c without explanations.
I am using a new clinic now and hoping for the best. I also live in PA, near Collegeville. I am going to Abington Hospital. They all seem wonderful there.
I am waiting for AF so that I can get started. I am using menopur this cycle instead of follistim. I think AF will be here in the next 2 weeks.
Lots of baby dust to all!

Wow you are clever adsgirl. I thought about doing that having seen it on other threads. Thinking about it gave me a headache though so I stopped!

Went to pick DH up from train station last night at midnight. He 'forgot' to call me and tell me he had missed the train and caught a cab to another train station. When I eventually tracked him down he was there with 2 other friends all expecting a lift home and having a discussion with a policeman about how the situation wasn't his fault! Luckily the police had a sense of humour and sided with me!
I then had to drive to the first train station to pick his other friend up who had turned up in the correct place for a lift albeit a little late!
Men!!!!
Needless to say he slept on the sofa last night and has been extra specially loving today!
I can't stay mad at him for long even when I really want to!

Hope all your weekends weren't as eventful as mine

Sleep well

HOLY CRAP!!! I leave for a weekend and 3 pages of posts!!!!!!! This thread is hopping! I love it! I had a wonderful time at the beach! The weather was great on Friday and Sat, but crappy today. It was just nice to get away. DH and I had a little fight becasue he keeps saying that I'm in a bad mood....so I went OFF! "of course Im in a bad mood.....I have planned my entire life around kids and now I cant have them" thats the jist of it....I was hysterical! It was bad......but he felt bad, then I felt bad...and this was in front of my mom and sister. I just have moments that I cant take it anymore! But everything is fine now.
WELCOME TO ALL THE NEWBIES!!!!!!! for the 1st timers--dont worry.....you will be fine! I am on my 3rd cycle, but its seems like yesterday I got my first box of meds in the mail!

Adgirl! Awesome list....I was going to do it, I just didnt get to it yet! You go girl! I love it! I am still spotting just a little...Af should be here in a couple days then BCP will start again april 30th. Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Adsgirl, great list!! Thank you, and you got my ET right -- it's either at the end of May or June 1 like you estimated.

Faithhopelove, Kimmy, and Sharona, looks like our ET is around the same time, which is good to know, because we'll be in the 2 week wait together and it's nice to have others to go through that with.

For those of you at the top of the list, keep us posted on the details so we can cheer you on!! :)

Yay! Love the list AdsGirl! Thanks for putting that together! Hope everyone had a great weekend - i was at a baby shower today for a neighbor of mine - of course i am the only one there that doesn't have any kids yet, so its always fun fielding the "when are you guys gonna have kids" question :? But it was a good time nonetheless :) Hope everyone has a GREAT week...
