I've been thinking about your post for over an hour. I wanted to respond, but didn't know what to say... as you know, I've expressed my feelings on both threads and feel that you are completely justified in your feelings. I don't want any of us to make any one feel "like crap" - that's not what we're here for - we're here to build each other up!!

For everyone else -

I don't want to come across the wrong way - I'm not here to chastise anyone for their feelings if they were hurt by the change. We are ALL entitled to our own feelings about this change.

But that is exactly it is... CHANGE. No one is kicking anyone out of anything.

Mia made the decision to make this thread so that we could share our pregnancy stuff while still being respectful and honoring our sisters who have not yet joined us in being pg. But that doesn't mean that we can't all still talk about American Idol, the crazy differences between us Yanks and our sisters across the pond, or whatever strikes our fancy on the main thread. We haven't been kicked out, we've just chosen to respect the feelings of sisters who are still trying.

I think Becks, Angel, Chriss, Angie, and all the others who expressed their feelings about coming on the thread to see a bunch of pregnancy stuff are all very brave and I admire them for being honest. Every single one of us knows how it feels to know someone who is pg and to want that so desperately. We know better than most how that feels.

I haven't asked Becks who has caused her to feel so badly and I do not want to know - so do not think this is a witch hunt. I do hope everyone, new mommies, pg, trying and waiting, will look into themselves and remember how similar each of us are inside. We've prided ourselves on the incredible support that we give to each other in good times and in bad - we've been through a lot together and we've survived because of each other, I know i've read that more times than one and felt it myself. I hope we can all continue to support each other as we have.

I sincerely appreciate each one of you - you have all been a tremendous blessing to me in one way or another. I hope that I have not offended anyone by this post, but I had to say something... I just couldn't stand the thought of Becks feeling so badly after having just being honest.

Hugs & love to you all...

Hi How is everyone?
I've had such a lazy day - been vegging in front of day time tv and been on-line checking out baby bedding whilst reading posts on here.
Just got back from a reflexology session which was so relaxing I could've fallen asleep in the chair :D I think baby enjoyed it too as he/she was wriggling about the whole time.

Mir - yes time does seem to be flying now. No, nursery's not ready although there's not too much to do really. The room was decorated very neutral and had new carpet only a year or so ago and hasn't really been used since so I'm sticking with that. I already have a wardrobe and chest in there which are fine for baby and I'll be getting my nephew's cot when he goes into a bed so all the big stuff is sorted.
Curtains, moses basket and some of the bedding is on order.

Rachel & Shantala - how are you getting on? Bet those little girls are keeping you busy

Steph - where are you? How's the turtle princess doing?

Here's an odd questions for you. Has anyone heard of pregnancy causing a hernia? I went to the GP on Friday 'cos I had a little lump in my groin and thought I should get it checked out. She says its a hernia and has referred me back to the consultant as she's not sure of the implications for delivery. It wasn't painful last week but since I did some gardening at the weekend it has been a little uncomfortable when I'm walking around.
I'm now wondering what's the best thing to do - should I sit around and rest as much as possible or carry on as normal? I've been swimming and walking for exercise but will this make it worse? I don't think they'll do anything to treat it until after I've had the baby but I just don't want to do any more damage. What does everyong think? My consultant appt isn't til 9th May and I'm not sure what to do in the mean time.

I would just take it easy until you see your consultant. I have heard of that happening, just not sure what was done to fix it. Have you looked anything up on the internet?

Evening girls,

Su - i'll have a look in my books for you and see if they say anything - or have you tried http://www.midwivesonline.com/index.php - there are loads and loads of FAQs on there or if you are really worried then you can ask your own.

Mia - hows the m/s? Have you put on any weight yet - if not, gladly send some of mine over the pond!! :)

Hope - you still suffering hun of m/s?

Steph - loved seeing your piccies from the scan - you must be thrilled to see them too of course!

Nicaliw - hey welcome - think you were on the original thread with some tmt dates but a big congratulations - you must update us on your scan dates and due dates too.

Mir - ok ok we get it - you're going on vac.........I'm just jealous  Missing you already hun!!

Right, so started to feel that I was a little behind in the olde nursery readiness so hubby and me went out on Sunday to browse - to start making a short list of what we wanted to get - and low and behold, we came home after buying the cotbed, chest of drawers/changer and pram/pushchair    Although still not convinced about the pram/pushchair however as we have only put a deposit down the shop said that we can always change our minds with nothing to lose which is fab and we got a discount hence why we did it...... so I'm ready!! OK , nearly ready!!

Peq I suspect has already got all hers ! BTW, where is our lovely peq?? Are they working her hard??

I have to say thank god for Bush's rebate this year. It is coming in handy buying double everything.

Hi Ladies -

Sorry to hear about the hernia, Su... I wish I had some info for you, but if you don't find any, I think I'd err on the side of caution - better safe than sorry kind of thing...? Sorry it's so uncomfortable for you! Did you find any good bedding while on line?? ;) I have started to peek, but afraid to get too interested in anything yet. And can I say, reflexology sounds absolutely divine!! I'm jealous! I will definitely have to look into that in a few months!

Nims, sounds like you went shopping like crazy!! It must feel good to have all those things in order - even if you're still unsure about the pram. My DH was so cute, the other day he saw a sales ad with all sorts of prams (stollers for us yanks!) and was like, oh, we need to check these out! I guess he's starting to feel like it's real. I'm still cautious, esp. after the m/c, but he is convinced that all is and will remain just fine. :)

Mir, how you doing sweetie? Have you started packing for your trip yet?? I think I'd already be done after looking forward to it for so long!! Got the bikini out?! woo hoo! Warm tropical breeze awaits!

How's our new mommies? Totally busy and involved in their little princesses I'm sure!! Do we get pics?!! I know some folks post on FB or PB, let us know where to go if you aren't going to post on here! We want to see babies!!!

Peq, Steph1 & Steph2 - how you guys doing?? haven't heard much from you lately. Steph1, especially - you still working those crazy hours where you can't eat!? I don't know how you do it. I seriously have to eat every 2 hrs or i'm sick as a dog. yuck.

So, no news from me... same old - yes, the M/S has not subsided, tho I feel like I'm getting a bit of a handle on it, anticipating what times of the day are typically the worst and what foods I can handle at what times. Mostly eating white food (potatoes, pasta, breads) and trying to get some protein with peanut buttter, cheese and milk. Surprisingly, milk doesn't make me nauseated... it is one of the things I tolerate well.

1st OB appt on Friday. I've prepared a whole page full of questions for her. I have heard they may be able to hear HB with doppler at that point? Does anyone know? My friend who is 23 wks pg said they heard hers at 9 wks. On Friday I will be 9w2d. I guess I won't be too upset if they can't, but still hoping they do.

Best to all - hugs!

Hope, it apparently depends on the machine being used for the auditory heartbeat. I have heard people hearing it much earlier than 9w 2d at their RE. So you should be fine in hearing it. I just hope that my new OB does an US on the first visit. It would make sense that they do, but apparently not all of them do it. Have fun Friday. Only 2 more days.
