Update from me Girls (midwife/hospital) yesterday.

Post by bubblymichelle »

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I have not posted sooner but not been up to it.

Well as alot of you know from my last thread I had to go to the hospital today.

Well I have been today and they have done an Internal examination and omg did it hurt, it was so painful and I bled quite alot after it as well. Basically the babys head is down but its not down far enough. They are not going to induce me but I now have an appointment at the hospital for Friday for another assessement.

I have also been put on a course of antibotics because I have a water infection so have to take them for 5 days and make sure I drink plenty of water.

They strapped me up to the monitor and they say baby is doing fine and seems happy. They said if they was to induce me it would be unfavorable so they said they are against it.

The pain I had today from the internal was really bad, and I come out and I cried I said to Lee if I had problems coping with that pain what am I going to be like with labour. Lee bless him he said to me well Shell we will get through just think that one less pain is a step closer to holding our baby and I sort of cheered up then.

Love
Shell.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the post, I don't feel so bad today, I have forgotton about the pain from yesterday. Admittenly I do feel a little tender but nothing I can't handle. I have just taken my 1st antibotic to help clear up the infection. Just going to go in the shower and get myself dressed and then I can just have a lazy day.

Hope your ok.

Hi Shell

You poor thing! Internals are sooooo horried I hate them but when they hurt as well it's so much more worse. You really do deserve a lazy day and take it easy for the rest of the week.

I hope your infection clears up quickly too.

I was wondering how you got on yesterday and thought you had started and they kept you in. It will be fine when the time comes as it will be like being 5 again desperate to see what is under the xmas tree!! You will find out whether it's a boy or girl. I still have to wait till JUNE!!!!!! I am so impatient.

Take care

Hi Shell

Maybe yesterday was preparing you for an easier birth! Dont' forget when you are having the baby you can have lots of pain relief and if things are too unbearable you can always have an epidural!

Its funny how you quickly forget the pain....otherwise nobody would ever have more than one baby!!!

Just think next time you go through that type of pain you'll be bringing home a little baby!!!

Keep your chin up honey. Just think another week of positing - anything to make sure I don't steel your third place slot!!!!

 Hi - glad to see that you're hanging on in there!! This wait is worse than the post-ET 2ww I think, just 'cos it's so bloody uncomfortable.

I saw my midwife yesterday and she's booked me in for a hospital appointment on Monday (my due date) to check my swelling feet / ankles/ hands and abdomen (I've got a lot of fluid retention on my stomach that's not just the baby). They will hopefully be able to discuss induction on Monday - I just want it out now as my feet are very painful, especially at night. The head is still only 3/5 engaged so I'm not sure that they'll be willing to induce me early next week.

They were so bad yesterday I resorted to wearing socks and sandals in town - how awful is that in the middle of winter!!

I went out for a hot curry and a glass of wine last night, but nothing's happened so far this morning - here's hoping!

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to walk without the baby's head pressing down and causing me lots of pain. It's a shame really since it's a lovely winter's day here in Brighton - just right for a walk on the seafront. Maybe I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Have a relaxing day,

Alison xx

Shell

poor you - can't have a stiff drink either!!! Like Nik said you can have as much pain relief as you want on the day and you are very emotional at the moment with the waiting - what the hell do I know
We are all here holding your hand

Hi Girls,

Well thanks once again for your lovely messages, its nice to be able to say how I feel and to get so much support back it does mean alot to me.

I know when I have the bab I will forget about all the pain, but Nik the thing is the hospital want me to have an epidural because of how big the baby is and because I am only a small build they don't think I will be able to born it myself so they asked me to consider an epidural. At the end of the day I will go with what I have to for mine and the babys safety.

Well was going to rest today but didn't ha ha  apart from now I am sending a post to you all.

I have bleached all my kitchen and cleaned all the bathroom and had to get a new toilet seat because the people who come to fit my tank broke my other one, but its nice and everything is bleached clean so I am well pleased.

Lee has just gone to the football match so I thought I would come online and say hello to all my friends.

Alison please let us know how Monday goes, you know when you say about the swellings its not nice at all is it, the feeling of discomfort and pain. Hey lets hope that something happens for you now then, I can't wait to hear your news.

Well I am hoping to go out for an Indian Curry tonight with Lee, I said to him it would be nice for the two of us to go out on our own before the baby is born. The thing is when the weekend comes we always end up going out with friends for a meal or Lee's Brother but I would love just the two of us to go out so he said we will do that so I am well pleased. Must have a hot curry :P :P :P mind I can't do that cus I couldn't be doing with the burning in my mouth.

Anyway hope to hear from you all soon.
Hope your all having a good weekend.
Love
Shell.
