Well, it looks like I might be 2 days ahead of schedule. I was supposed to call my doctor when I started my "Lupron period" and it started today. So the nurse called me back, and told me to come in tomorrow morning, and to called the pharmacy to get the microdose Ovidrel since I will probably be starting stims tomorrow instead of Saturday! So Rinnie, I think I'm right behind you!

Kristen,
Welcome to the IVF Board. As you can see in my signature I am on IVF #7. I do have children naturally from a previous marriage. No matter what our past brings us, currently we are all here to have a baby. I have met people online that were upset that I mentioned I have children. To me, I don't let it bother me. My husband doesn't have a child of his own. That is why we are doing IVF. God has his plans for all of us. I am leaving things in his hands. I do appreciate my children and I am greatful for them. You will all get pregnant. Some sooner then others, but have faith and it will happen. My sister doesn't talk to me because I had kids naturally and she adopted. It hurts me everyday. I have also found many friends on this IVF forum that have been there more for me then my family and close friends. We are all here for each other.

So if you need anything, I am sure I am saying this for all of us, we are here to support each other. Good Luck on your cycle.

Donna
8th IVF Cycle, BFP

jharris12 Well, last time I started out with a bang & they had to slow me down, so you may actually pass me..I triggered on the evening of the 12th stim day. Sending lots of babydust out there!!

Doddo How are you? All the best of luck this time around....your journey is so amazing & I hope you & dh get your child.

I don't have any children. I'm a child of divorce & anger & it took me a long time to find the right guy. I'm not overly sensitive to other people's children...I can't live life doing that, it's a waste. There are so many good things to be done in the World. I'd be very sad, but I'd try & find a positive spin. It's a shame when people let it hurt their loved ones.

Hi ladies! Switching from the March/April thread to this one. Got my second beta today and it decreased, so we're moving on to June! No idea when my FET will be, but should be around the first of June!

Can't wait to go through all this with y'all!

Greetings! Welcome to the newcomers...there are many of you!! I will update our list tonight and get it posted. In the meantime, thought I would let you all know about my day...

DH and I went into the RE this morning (after being up arguing late last night about him not being as engaged as I would like him to be!! :? ) for our mock transfer and meds training. The doc said the mock transfer was very easy (I could not believe how quickly she did it! Measurements and everything in the snap of the fingers!). She asked if I had ovulated...geez! how the heck am I supposed to know that? I've been on the pill since I was 19, and I have PCOS and haven't ovulated since I came off the pill! Even if I did, how would I know??? I told her I had no idea. Anyway, she found a cyst in my ovary that she said could be the result of a recently ovulated egg, and that she sees that pretty commonly. If it was still there on my next ultrasound, then she would decide if it was a problem or not. OK. Fair enough.

After the mock transfer, we went through all the consent forms (like closing on a house! So many papers to sign!) then the meds training. All was fine, and we got to meet the embryologist to ask her a couple of questions and went through our remaining questions with the nurse.

Sorry for the long post...but more to tell!

So...Everything was fine, but in the afternoon they called and said my progesterone level was very low (0.29) which indicated that I had not ovulated. I was supposed to start Lupron tonight, but instead, she called in a prescription for aygestin which is supposed to "trick my body into thinking it ovulated." She told me to wait on starting the lupron until 5/4 and that I should expect AF between 10-13 days after I start the aygestin then hopefully we can move forward.

So...a few questions for you ladies...Has anyone else ever dealt with not ovulating when you went in to start the process? Has anyone ever heard of or taken Aygestin? And what are your thoughts on this cyst? My two previous ultrasounds did not reveal cysts...now this one is there...not sure what to think about that! Plus, if the cyst may have been from a recently ovulated egg, but I didn't recently ovulate...that must mean it's something different!

I'm not too worked up, obviously a little disappointed I'm delayed (but I know it's only a little delay), and I'm just nervous about all these factors coming into play!!

Thanks!

Wow! We have alot of newbies! WELCOME to all!

To all of the ladies who are embarking on their 2ww, stimming, and ER/ET, you all are gonna lead the pack with BFP's.......I can feel it! So, I'm sending lots and lots of positive baby vibes your way. :D

AdsGirl - I don't have PCOS or any other female factor, but I had a cyst on one of my ovaries ages ago when I was much younger and it burst. It was one of the most painful experiences I've ever felt. At the time, I was told by my GYN that it wasn't uncommon for women to develop a cyst on their ovary and that most of the time, they'll disappear on their own. Hopefully, your cycst will disappear and everything will be fine. As for the hubby not being as engaged as you'd like him to be, I think it's a male thing. During our first cycle, my husband wasn't as excited as I wanted him to be and I let it stress me....we even argued about it. He kept reassuring me that he was. In talking to a one of my girlfriends, she explained to me how men are simply different from women when it comes to showing emotions. After I accepted that, I learned to let go and know that he's just as excited as I am......we just handle it differently.

I hope everyone had a fine day today.

AdsGirl- I did have a cyst for my last two IVF tries. They kept me on BCP for 2 extra weeks which thankfully shrunk the cyst. If the cyst if big enough, some will go in and drain it. I didn't have to take aygestin but I am assuming it is a progesterone derivative so hopefully it will decrease with that! Good luck.
Cocosmomma- I am sorry to hear about your decreasing HCG. I had the same situation last month....and now I am just waiting for AF. I feel like I will never get her :)
The wait is terrible!
Welcome Kristen. Hope you have your prayers answered!

Adsgirl don't worry about the cyst - I have one on my ovaries. They think it might be a dermoid cyst and it is 2cm in diameter. If you look up dermoid cyst it contains teeth and hair cells - gross. My Mum decided I should have been a twin but I got hungry in the womb and ate it!!!!!!!!!
I love my Mum but really that is disgusting! ps i did not eat my twin, at least I don't think I did!

As far as DH not being supportive enough I agree with IMBlessed they just don't get it. Mine kept trying to say to me that we shouldn't get our hopes up. My point was if we don't hope and keep positive what was the point of spending £8000 we might aswell just go on holiday!

Adsgirl Ditto on not worriying about the cyst. I too had to stay on BCP 2 more weeks because they thought I would have them after my last IVF cycle.

Ladies Dont be too hard on your DH's. Men deal with things differently then we do, and they will be excited when they see that first u/S, dont worry! :) My DH does all my shots because I want him to feel like he is a part of this too. We have to make a baby together

Cocosmomma I am super sorry about your negative Beta; however I am excited that you have some frozen and can try again so soon!!! Welcome!

Rinnie Yeah on starting stims!!! We might be in our 2ww together because I am a slow stimmer. Last time I did my ER on day 15, I think (hope) I will find out more tomorrow when I go in for my u/s and bloodwork.

Jharris12 Congrats on being a head of schedule!!! I hope we can be 2ww buddies and both get our BFP!!

For me, I go to the DR tomorrow for my first u/s and bloodwork after my baseline last week. I have been stimming for 4 days now, but I got AF because I came off my BCP the day I started Lupron...has anyone had this happen? My protocol is different from my first cycle, so I dont know if this was supposed to happen. I am hoping my body is just "spring cleaning" and getting ready for a baby. :D

Adsgirl - I can relate to the delay...my progesterone was low yesterday as well so no Lupron start  I am pretty sure I ovulated Monday so I am not shocked my levels weren't ready...back Monday, 5/5 for more bloodwork and hopefully start then...seems like from other posts your cyst should not be an issue...I haven't had one that i know of so I can't comment but if your doc wasn't worried and most ladies here think it's fairly common I think you'll be in good shape...

jharris12 - Congrats on being ahead of schedule! That is great...

Rinnie - good luck w/ the stims! You have prepared so well the last 3 months this has to be your cycle!!

cocosmomma - sorry to hear about your beta...Good luck with your FET - I hear those are a bit less stressful...June will be here before you know it!

Have a good day everyone...each day we are one step closer to our BFP!! :D

Yikes! I have been snowed under at work and you girls have been busy! 9 pages! After today I'll have some time to catch up and read everything carefully. You're brilliant, AdsGirl. Thanks for the list of everyone's progress and projected ETs. I'll write more later.

Well, I started BCP's today so the estimated date of ER will be June 2nd :) I'm in the Progesterone study, and will be on Lupron, GonalF and Menopur.

I am fixing to call the RE's nurse back and see about the meds...they were 'faxed' in yesterday but the pharmacy couldn't find them, so here I sit waiting because I keep thinking the minute I leave to go get groceries the pharmacy will call LOL

Good morning ladies! I went this morning for an US and BW, and depending on the results, I should get to start my stims tonight, 2 days ahead of what I thought! :D We have an "info line" to call to get the results and instructions, and even though I know there is no way there is anything on it yet, I want to call! I hate waiting! The 2ww is going to be forever!

Ads: Sorry to hear about the delay, unfortunately I can't be of any help. :? I don't know anything about the cyst/ovulation problem. But good luck and keep us updated.

LoveBug: Thanks It's good to know I'm not going through this alone! And I'm like you. My DH gives me all my shots to be included in this. Plus he is an insulin dependent diabetic, so he's a pro at shots! But then again, he's excited about the whole process, he's really been great. Until the past couple days when I was a little more moody than usual anyway! About your protocol, mine was a little different, I went on BCP's for 18 days, then started Lupron, but continued the pills for the next 3-4 days. So AF came like 3-4 days (yesterday) after I stopped my BCP. Which is why I had my US & BW this morning to determine if I start stims tomight! It amazes me how different doctors protocols are!

Indie: Congrats on starting BCP's! One step closer. Good luck w/the pharmacy! My order was supposed to be a Saturday delivery so I could be home to get it, but it missed the truck the 1st time, and had to be delivered Monday, and they made sure to put extra ice in it since I wouldn't be there when it was delievered! But it all turned out okay. Luckily we ordered a few days in advance!

How are the rest of you ladies holding up?

Good afternoon ladies! Glad to hear everyone is progressing right along!

Adsgirl - so sorry to hear of the delay/cyst. I don't get the whole ovulation thing myself. I don't ovulate at all either ever since going off the pill. That is what first led me down this path - when I went off the pill over a year ago I was supposed to track my cycle so I knew when the right time to try was, but AF never appeared! I swear long-time use of the pill has messed me up, even if no doctor has said that - I too was on it from 18 on, so about 11 years! Which is why I hate having to go on it during these cycles. But whatever works. But because I don't ovulate they told me I am always baseline. The ovarian drilling in most women also restores ovulation, but not me! I swear my body is fighting me every step of the way!!

jharris - glad you get to start early. My RE also has the info line where you get your next days of meds, and I call every half hour until I have a message - I get so impatient!!

As for me, just stimming away. I have had 2 nights of shots, and they were just Bravelle so not too bad at all. It's the Repronex (menopur) that stings and leaves awful red marks on me, and I think I add that in tonight, but just 1 vial mixed with the Bravelle so hopefully it won't be too bad, and thankfully this cycle I am only doing one shot a day instead of 2. I don't do Lupron, they have me do Cetrotide instead closer to retrieval. I go tomorrow and Monday for scan and b/w. Hopefully things will be moving!
