I would like to know if any of you experienced problems with high prolactin levels and if you had to take medication to lower the levels to normal before you started any treatment or if you were able to do both (IVF and take medication for the prolactin levels). I am going to start an IVF but they forgot to check my prolactin levels so they just did that and the nurse said they can do both at the same time. I am a little bit worried since at my other clinic they wanted to lower the prolactin level first and then start the treatment.
Hope any of you will read this post and reply to me with any suggestions/comments/experiences you may have had regarding this.
Thank you very much!

I'd be interested to know if you do find out something as I was just recently told that my prolactin levels are slightly high.
Try posting it in the IVF section and bring it to the attention of Ghost - he's a researcher. Plus there may be other women out there with the same problem.
Thank you very much for replying to my email. Since I had to decide by yesterday if i wanted to start taking the medications for my next cycle without knowing my prolactin levels, i decided to postpone the cycle for 2 weeks. For the previous IVFs my prolactin levels were fine but for the last one they found they were high and they gave me medication to lower the levels before starting a cycle. In this case, they wanted to do both at the same time, although this time it will be IVF with egg donor (I don't know if that makes a difference).
I got a very helpful reply to my ad and he sent me the link of a webpage about prolactin that I would like to share it with you since it is very useful:
Hope this helps! and let me know if you will be taking medication for the prolactin or if it is not so high. I will know about my levels by next week, so don't know yet if i will need medication or not.
Best wishes,
Blinky

Hi - I have high prolactin as well. The highest my levels reached was 85. RE put me on bromocriptine and it helped with getting the levels down. I ended up being on bromocriptine for a year.
I think it's a good idea to wait. When I started IVF they put me on the medication with the other meds as well. My levels went down immediately, but if I had had to do it over again, I would have waited at least one month before starting with IVF.
