Anna - congratulations! It is truly wonderful that you finally have your little girl. I will be getting my little boy this afternoon. I can't wait. This all still seems so unreal after years of trying. I'm sure it will be very real this afternoon.

Jennifer - thanks for the well wishes, and good luck for you tomorrow.

Good after noon my dear friends! well its been 24hrs since we got home with lil dom dom and it has been tiring, interesting yet amazing. i had been wondering how things were gonna go when we got home and the transition from being just us to parenthood has been hard but great!!! people were right it has just come naturally and and it hasnt been that bad, hes let me get more sleep now that were at home then he did at the hosp. He was weight yesterday before we left and he had lost a few ounces but today at his first pediatrician visit he has gained it all back. nursing has been a painful challenge but its going well he’s been nursing since he came out, this lil boy eats like a champ!! so far hes eating every 2 to 3 hrs so all is well. other than that we are home and he is doing absolutly wonderful. i couldnt ask for a healthier, happier baby!!!! things are lil hectic right now so ill get on when i get a chance and update you all. I LOVE YOU!!! i cant tell you how it feel to be a mom...but know this..... its the greatest thing ever.

It's a GIRL!

I was scheduled for an inducation on March 12 at 7 a.m. Baby Sydney Yvonne arrived at 6:48 a.m. Needless to say, she decided to come on her own. I got to the hospital at 4 a.m. so two hours later our baby decided to make a grand entrance. She was 6 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 inches. Tiny little button. She is now 6 lbs. 9 oz. and eating well. Her sister, Siena, who is now two years old is really taken by the baby. It is going to be a wild ride from here on out.

Looking foward to hearing from others,

Hey everyone- Gosh these past two weeks have flown by in a haze of poop and breast milk!!! Lily was born via C-section on March 11th at 8:03 AM. She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 19 inches long. The C-section went perfectly and my recovery has been nothing!!! I had no pain and have been up and about since the first day. I am taking it easy, but feel great!! The baby is incredible!!! She is soooo perfect and is a really easy baby- not fussy at all. Breastfeeding, on the other hand, has been a "slight" challenge to put it mildly. After many late night crying (by me) sessions in which she refused to nurse and/or nursed for one and a half hours only to still be hungry, my DH and I made the decision that I would pump the breast milk and give it to her in a bottle- it has changed my life!!! I can now see that she eats three ounces every three hours, she's full and satisfied and the whole process, including pumping takes 35 minutes and we are back to bed!! I feel so much better, knowing that she is getting adequate nutrition and I'm not so exhausted from the hour and a half long marathon sessions. So, now, I can enjoy this scrumptious baby and not stress about feeding. I hope everyone else is doing great!!!! Motherhood IS all that it's cracked up to be and more!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Well, my baby was born via c-section on march 10 at 2:52 pm. He was 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 in long. We had a scare the night we were discharged. The baby became non responsive, lethargic, irregularly breathing, wouldn't respond to any stimulus, wouldn't open his eyes or cry. We ended up staying a week at the childrens hospital. They didn't really pinpoint one thing that caused the episode. We are home now and he is okay.
Breastfeeding has not been the easiest thing for me either. I think a lot because of his week in the hospital. I tried pumping when I could, but my supply is not where it should be. I give him what I can and suuplement with formula the rest of the time.
Congratulations to all you other new mommies. Can you believe our babies will be one month old soon!

I cant believe he’s a month old!!
Current mood: blessed

Well hello my dear family and friends, I know its been a while since ive been on but things have been insane crazy. Ive finally got a chance to sit for a min and give a quick update. Well it seems as though the last 3weeks have kinda just flown by! hes getting so big and attentive, he smiles alot he eats alot and he sleeps alot hahahah, no really he does sleep alot still but he will have 2 or 3 stretches during the day where he is up anywhere from an hr to 2 1/2 to 3 hrs so hes getting better! We still are having a few nites where he wants to party all nite and keep us up but mostly hes down anywhere from 3 to 5 hrs at nite so i am starting to get some sleep!! we took him for a pediattician visit on the 27th and he weighed in at 9lbs 4oz he was 2wks then so I can only imagine what he weighs now!! The pediatrician was telling me to wake him up and make him eat every three hrs but that didnt last long it was absolute hell on him and me, i was forcing the lil guy awake after trying to wake him from a deep sleep no less which made him crankyNand hard to nurse which in turn made me frustrated and it just was NOT good so i stopped, and things have gotten better i let him wake up when hes hungry or wet or blah blah blah and things calmed down hes not so stressed and neither am I he did catch his first cold over easter weekend let me tell you that was fun!!! but hes better now still a lil congested but nothin major. I honestly have to say motherhood is awsome! yeah I may get a lil frustrated at the lack of sleep but looking at him he is all worth it and im starting to adjust now so its good! He really is a good baby he only cries and gets fussy when hes tired, hungry, or needs a butt change lol but other than that he’s pretty alert and calm i couldnt ask for a better baby.

So things with me are getting better ive lost 30lbs woohoo!! breastfeeding really does make you loos weight, im now anemic from all the blood loss during the delivery and im still slowly healing i still have stiches and i still hurt like hell! but all in all im feeling human again im not aloud to drive until my 6wk apt with my doc but that really doesnt matter, im still kinda weak, but really i feel good. Miguel wants to give dom a sibling but im not even considering it due to the fact we had a complicated pregnancy and a complicated birth i think this lil guy is going to be an only child :) anyway im doing well.

So its been 6wks since miguel took off work he took off the last week in feb thinking that lil guy was going to come early and well went back to work today, thought it was going to be a lil hectic by myself but so far its been ok, i thought being by myselF was going to be absolutly crazy but so far so good talk to me in 8hrs when i have to be up at nite by myself! hahahah. My camera had been mia for a while but we got it back. We have a lot of pics on there so i will post some of them soon. and will be taking ALOT MORE!!! hahah anyway just wanted to check in with you all and let you know how things are going and everything is good, hes big, hes healthy, and we all are doing well!! well im off for now i will post pics REALLY soon i promise! love you all and hope you are all well!

Hello everyone!

Ava turned 1 month yesterday and like what Brandi said, motherhood is the greatest thing but comes with its own challenges. My little one has been colicky in the last couple of weeks and dh and I have been taking turns soothing her (I feel bad for him coz he has to work the next day too). She usually starts wailing and crying off and on around 11pm until 2-3 am. We rock her, hold her, swaddle her, sing to her, walk and dance with her until she falls asleep. We've also been giving Mylicon drops and Tylenol but patience is definitely a virtue. Some nights she sleeps 4-5 hours at a time and I feel like I've slept a lifetime. (hahaha!) I'm also breastfeeding and she has been doing well with that although the first 2 weeks were definitely hard. During the day, she does really well so I try napping when she naps although that really doesn't happen a lot since I'm a neurotic neat freak and I can't leave housework laying around. Lately, I've taken her out in the neighborhood for walks and that lulls her to sleep. I haven't really taken her out in public yet since I've read conflicting reports about when to do that so I'm basically just waiting to do that until after her 1st shots. I'm just trying to enjoy her by myself for now :)

Anyway, how 's everyone else handling motherhood? Congrats to all and let us know how you're doing. How do you post pictures here?
